Ruis – BootleMy family & I visited Fuegos in Sept 09. The restaurant & staff are lovely & the place is very child friendly. We opted for the early bird menu, the food was fabulous & there was more than enough. We had three courses for 3 of us and a bottle of wine for around £36.00, easily worth the money. I would definitely pay a return visit
Fuegos – Southportavoid at all costs. i had heard mixed reviews about las iguanas but it was chosen as a leaving do for a work mate leaving the city. what a shame the last memory of a restaurant was this place! this is chain food at its worst. 4 meals sent back as stone cold, under cooked and pink. very poor quality meat. staff look miserable like they dont want to be there and rushed us as soon as we sat down to order, god no's why, we where the only party there (upstairs). they knocked so much off the bill in the end we all payed just over £10 each, including a few rounds of drinks. it was that bad. avoid avoid avoid. theres so so many nicer places in liverpool and for the amount of competiton that is around the chef needs to be fired!
Las Iguanas – Liverpool City Centrehi just to let you know, had a wonderful meal in the palace restaurant great great food.
Palace Balti Tandoori – St.HelensHad a lovely meal at Bistrot Verite on the 22nd September. The service was friendly with a good menu using local produce. The food was excellent and reasonably priced for the quality and size of the portions. Lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend.
Bistrot Verite – Southportdined here for lunch yesterday. A truly wonderful experience. Staff very welcoming, wonderful surroundings, beautiful water features and lighting. The food was fabulous. Probably the best dining experience I have ever had in Liverpool. Will be back next week.
Chaophraya – Liverpool City CentreIt was great...for chinese food. You can definitely not class this restaurant as thai food.....I've never been to a proper Thai restaurant that did not have kaffir lime leaves, good quality coconut milk and fresh chillies in a thai curry. What a con....A CHINESE TRYING TO BE THAI. To say the least it was disappointing and an insult to Thai cuisine! There are plenty of other genuine Thai restaurants around merseyside so PLEASE....DO NOT BE FOOLED!
Siam Garden – Wavertreewent to this this restaurant in march 09 wasn't what i expected from what id heard, the staff were rude and pretentious the menu was small and very expensive would not recommend or visit this place again, my 1 good point the decor was nice.
Kozi – Prescotvery good meal at spire on Thursday evening, great value for money even though we used a voucher (a present for my wife's leaving present)will definitely return. allan
Spire – WavertreeWe had an amazing evening in Othello's on Saturday 19th September 2009. A party of 26 celebrated my brothers 40th birthday with fine wines, excellent food in a fantastic friendly atmosphere. The service we received was first class. Everybody enjoyed themselves and all spoke highly of Othello's. We cannot believe we have such a "High quality" class restaurant on our door step, it's a must for all to try! You done us proud Othello's! Thank you for making Steven's 40th birthday very memorable x
Othellos – Wooltonmy husband and i visited the tearooms on 16/09/09,oh what a joy.soothing atmosphere, fab food and the pot of darjeeling was wonderful.so impressed I'm going back tomorrow with my mum, whom i know will love it
Westminster Tea Rooms – SouthportBeen going here with my family for nearly 3 years now & would not go anywhere else. The service is excellent and the food is fabulous & it is no wonder that it is always busy. They have also recently refurbished the restaurant and also added some new delicious meals to the menu. Highly recommended - Andrew & Julie.
Taj Mahal – SouthportI love Nando's, always have, but was shocked at my first experience of Nando's takeaway. We were advised that, as the restaurant wasn't busy, it would take around 15 minutes for the food to come out, which I was fine with. We were then sent to the counter to order. After placing my order I was then told that takeaway orders were dealt with at the bar on the other side of the restaurant, so we headed round there instead. We waited at the empty bar for about fifteen minutes, during which time four different staff members walked past and told us that if we wanted food we'd have to order back at the food counter - each time we explained we wanted takeway, and they promised to find us someone to deal with our request. After being sent back and forth from the food counter to the bar, someone finally took our order and then disappeared. I went over to the food counter to try and order a drink while we waited but was told if I was having takeaway I'd have to order drinks at the bar!!! - so we sat at the bar for about half an hour, drink-less and getting frustrated. Next to us was the hot plate where the food was placed and then taken to the tables. I saw two wrapped parcels of food with our order number on, and asked if they were ready - I got told it would be another fifteen minutes. I spent that time watching the parcel sizzle under the hotplate, not moving. Eventually my boyfriend went over and asked where our food was - it turned out to be the now singed parcel of food sitting in the same place. On examining the order it turned out that they hadn't even got it right and missed some items, but it was too late for us to hang around for another half an hour and we were forced to leave without a refund. Terrible experience, clueless staff.
Nando’s – Liverpool City CentreWe went for lunch last week and the food was fabulous, the service was extremely quick and the Staff very pleasant and very professional. The prices are very reasonable the home chips are to die for. Would definitely go again and again and again...
Mango Wine Bar – Liverpool City CentreCame here last week - amazing decor, food was lovely and the pitchers of sangria were to die for! However the service was appalling - we waiting over half an hour for a table despite the restaurant being almost completely empty and when I finally asked whether one was ready, the hostess told me she had forgotten about finding us a place, but didn't apologise. Once seated we were ready to order, but again nobody took our order until I finally went over to the bar after about fifteen minutes of sitting at the table with no food or drinks. We only ordered five tapas dishes which took ages to arrive, which was surprising due to the emptiness of the restaurant. On arrival the food was delicious but nobody offered to refill our drinks and hung around the bar area chatting instead. I enjoyed the meal itself but felt that this restaurant was let down by its staff.
Las Iguanas – Liverpool City CentreI have wanted to visit this restaurant for quite a while but never seemed to get round to it. As it was my birthday, my husband booked it for us and our teenage daughter. The table was booked for 730pm on a Friday evening and from the moment we arrived we were treated like old friends. We were given the option of which table we preferred to sit at and as we chose the one by the door, all of the staff including the chef kept ensuring we were not to cold. The setting inside the restaurant is that of an old greek taverna and you could really forget that you were just off the Dock Road in Liverpool City Centre! As I love greek food I was spoilt for choice so for my starter I decided to get a combination of dips, Tzatziki, taramasolata, hummous, tahini, etc, with warm pitta bread, my husband had the spicy meatballs and our daughter the feta cheese. As there is an open kitchen we could see these being prepared and were with us what seemed like almost straight away. All of the starters we DELICIOUS!! There was enough to fill you but not make you too full for your main. I was again spoilt for choice with the amount of mains to choose from but opted for the haloumi kebabs, my husband went for the lamb, which was accompanied by roast potatoes, rice and green beans, and our daughter for the greek salad. Again all of the dishes were FANTASTIC. We chose not to have dessert although there was a good selection. We were offered a jug of iced water with our meal and my husband had 2 bottles of Keo. Our total bill was just under £60 which we thought was very reasonable for what we received.. All I can say is the the food, service, attentiveness and friendliness of this Taverna surpassed all of my expectations and would definitely recommend it to any who love the whole Greek food and ambiance.
Bacchus Taverna – Liverpool City CentreI love eating out and probably spend far too much time looking at this website! This is a fantastic Indian restaurant which I think competes with some of the best restaurants in Liverpool. Good value for money and excellent authentic tasting food. Food isn't normally my favourite cuisine but I will definitely be going back here. Well recommended.
Uni Restaurant – Liverpool City CentreIl Forno is honestly one of the best Italian restaurants if not one of the best ones in Liverpool! I've eaten there on and off over the past few years since it opened and its never disappointed. the restaurant is smartly designed and decorated but not pretentious or intimidating, and it has a fire breathing oven! ok its not actually fire breathing but the oven looks brilliant! the staff are friendly and attentive but don't bother you to much. the most important thing though is the food and drink, simply put its smashing. my friend and i shared a starter of Foccacia with tomato garlic and oregano which was enough for two people to share but not to filling. the Pizzas are fantastic and excellent value for money if they dont fill you up nothing will! and the also serve peroni gran reserve which is a posher version of normal Peroni (not that peroni doesnt taste nice!) which rounds things off perfectly. a starter to share and two pizzas with drinks for us was pretty much £40 for us which i think given the surroundings, service and quality of the food is what i would like to call an epic win ;)
