The service at Pushka was relaxed to say the least; we waited an hour and a half following starters, it was nearly mid-night before we got our main The waiter was very abrupt and looked like he was under the influence of SOMETHING. The whole experience is one that I would like to forget as it spoilt our night completely-very disappointed.

We have been going there since it opened over 20 years ago. The staff make the meal special and the food is fantastic. They will always try and fit you in although sometimes there is a little wait but it is worth it. Groups can pre book as far as I know. The menu caters for all tastes and is mouthwatering every time. Well recommended!

Went on Saturday 26/1/8 in a party of 8, We could not find fault anywhere. It was excellent. Fantastic food and atmosphere. Not exactly cheap but why should it be, you get what you pay for and this was quality

We ate in the Tavern last night and it was probably one of the worst meals we have had in a long time. The starters weren't too bad - nachos and chorizo pancake, but the mains were terrible. I ordered the cajun red snapper off the specials and had to return it. It was watery and 'on the turn'. It was certainly worse for wear. My partner had the other special on the menu - a chicken dish which was microwaved to death. Won't be returning...you can sample higher quality cuisine, for a lot less in the area

While visiting the Holocaust exhibition I decided to give the try out the Eatery. I was amazed to see ALL the Food on offer was Homemade!{ a rarity these days!} It was a very busy place and the Staff were VERY polite, friendly{without being intrusive} and attentive. Which was lovely and made the meal enjoyable! The place itself is a niche in the Anglican Cathedral and has huge glass windows so you can enjoy the views. The meal was Hot.The Food was ALL fresh ingredients {only the Peas were from a tin}The Sunday Lunch was lovely and you get decent portions.Very reasonably priced, in fact one of the cheapest Sunday Lunches Iv ever had in Liverpool or Wirral and one of the most enjoyable! Highly Recommend! If you haven't been there go now and see for yourself. 10/10

The Quarter was recommended by a number of people and so I was looking forward to a good night. On arrival the table booked was shoehorned next to the service counter but was just about bareable for a cosy restaurant. Starters were fine. The main arrived - the lasagne - it was slightly burnt. On pointing this out to the serving waitress, her response was, "that's how it's supposed to be" - I've never heard such nonsense! A chef should not allow burnt (and I mean black carbon) food to go out and the waitress should be able to make a more considered evaluation of the quality of the food in her hand and understand the customer's complaint!

Visited Il Forno on Friday after a friend suggested we eat there. I wasn't disappointed with the food, £10.95 for starter of Scallops and Main Meal of Italian Sausages with Polenta (although to be honest if you didn't want pasta or pizza for a main course I though the starters selection was better!). I can't comment on the atmosphere as it was a very late lunch and the place was empty but we loved the pizza oven.

Mei Mei is one of the best restaurant you will ever visit in your life, the food is beyond belief. The prices are a bit steep but the food is out of this World. Only go if you like chinese food as if you order English food you get the impression that you will be shot on the spot. As you walk in ask for the dim sum menu and don't be scared to experiment. Everything is perfect, sure the service is a bit slow but masterpieces take time.

we visited her last Saturday as part of a large party. What great food, really spot on, and we were in a party of 25 !! We all ordered a la carte and nothing was too much trouble, we got amazing individual veggies with each main course. I thought the price was very reasonable for such quality food and I think they have done the place up since I last went and it is quite hip in a cosy sort of way. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be going again soon. QUALITY QUALITY QUALITY

This relatively up-market Chinese restaurant has good food and friendly service. We ordered too much (easy mistake, the portions are quite hearty) and they provided takeaway boxes for the unfinished part.

I went here for the lunch special which was fantastic and well worth it, the food was great and a lovely atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, I will be returning in the near future. Superb!!!

Always busy which is a good sign. Good food. Very reasonably priced. The garlic bread with cheese is fantastic! The portions are large so beware but they do a smaller version of most things which is a good idea! The sweet trolley is still a favourite as you get to see what you are actually ordering and there is always a good variety to choose from! Friendly service. Would try it!

Love going to Tai Pan and seeing all the Chinese families sat eating and chatting over lunch. The food here is good and the dim sum menu is excellent. Its always busy which is a good sign but better still it always is full of chinese.. what more can you say! The supermarket is an ideal place to buy all your asian needs. Love popping in and having a wander down the aisles while i am home and seeing what is missing from my kitchen!

I loved this restaurant but am sad that its been taken over? There is no Walter the happy chap who always made my daughter smile with Tales he could eat more peking duck than her? All the staff have changed and so has the food unfortunately? I may try it again but i think that i will be trying to find somewhere new for my dim sum and peking duck fix! (sigh)

One of the best Chinese Restaurants outside China, i know this having lived in Liverpool most of my life but now living in Asia. With its red and white chequered Table cloths and the ducks and pork hanging in the window, its like downtown Hong Kong or Shanghai, and yes the food is as good. It doesn't need to be all dressed to the hilt as the Food screams at you that its wonderful and homely and has been cooked by someone who knows what their doing and has passion and is not doing it for the Money as most of the Chinese Restaurants do in the UK... Try this place if you want good food but if its a nice restaurant that you want a romantic dinner then go elsewhere but for food this place is amazing!

I live quite close to the restaurant and pop in for takeaway more times than eating in the restaurant, but thats not taking anything away from the restaurant, It is in fact excellent, the staff are knowledgeable and can recommend dishes if you are unsure what to order. It is however hard to get a table at the weekends as it is quite small, so if you are thinking of going book to be sure.

This to be honest is one of the worst places i have ever had the misfortune of frequenting. I remember the 1st time myself and hubby went just as it 1st opened and we were childless and had decided to go the pictures 4 the 1st time in a long time, We arrived with 1 hour and 30 mins till our film began. We sat at our table and waited 20 mins b4 we seen any sign of a waitress, then when the orders were taken we waited another 30 mins b4 i got up and asked where the food was?? I was told they had no order for me? seems they were having technical probs from the till in the bar to the till in the kitchen and somehow out order was lost? we were now coming close to having to leave to see the film,i was assured by the manager that our food would take 15 minutes if we cancelled the starters which we did... 25 minutes later and still no food i went and spoke to the manager AGAIN and was told that our food had already been served?? Well i explained if this was the case then it was not to us. He offered us vouchers for a free meal next time? mmm declined and left! had a hotdog in the cinema which was very nice! The next few times we went the food was either awful or the service and food was terrible, My daughter got food poisoning when she went with her grandparents! I hear people talking of portion size. But it has to also be edible! I would give this place a very wide berth!!!!! stay at home and eat beans on toast.........
