GREAT food - a hidden gem! I suspect the reason I'm the first to write is to keep it a secret.

GREAT food - a hidden gem! I suspect the reason I'm the first to write is to keep it a secret.
Elif – AigburthSuch wonderful food is rather unfortunately undermined by the utter sense of arrogance and sheer incompetence of the poorly trained staff. With this venue having become so popular, I'm inclined to wonder if complacency has bred contempt?
Il Forno – Liverpool City CentreMy husband moved to Wallasey from Istanbul 2 years ago, and Mezze is a welcome taste of home for him. The food is authentically Turkish, but with more variety than most UK Turkish restaurants. Some really lovely dishes - I recommend the Sultan Chicken. The atmosphere is understated, so even if you have never been to Turkey you won't feel out of place. The music is unobtrusive, prices reasonable, and Tayfun and Lesley are excellent hosts. A definite recommendation from my Turkish hubby and I !!
Mezze – WallaseyWe went in our dinner hour and the service was well within the hour to get us back to work on time food was delicious we had Caesar salad, mushrooms in crispy bread with melted cheese, pasta with chicken and chicken peppercorn sauce with potatoes and veg for dessert we had chocolate rolls with cream we got back to work and told are workmates we are even coming this Thursday lunchtime for a friends birthday
Bistro Pierre – Liverpool City Centreme and my friend lydia went this restaurant on are dinner time, i thought the food was outstanding and the service was brilliant lydia was especially happy with the desert a he-he all in all 10 out of 10
Bistro Pierre – Liverpool City CentreI don't understand all the good comments for this place. The atmosphere was nice and bright and lively....however The service was quite poor. I booked a table for 2 people 9pm on a Saturday night, I got in there just before 9 but didn't get seated until just after 9.20. then I asked for drinks which never came. At the end of the meal the waiter took the bill and assumed he was getting the tip. The food was decent but nothing special. Maybe it was an off night for them, i dont know. I wouldnt be in a hurry to go back. I just wish we would have went to the spanish place over the road again.
Nicola’s Ristorante – WaterlooThis is a quality restaurant! Not a huge place and it makes you feel like you are in Spain which makes for a great atmosphere! food is always quality. Been about 5 times and never let me down.
Tapas Tapas – WaterlooLovely place to eat! Atmosphere is wonderful! The staff are very pleasing and all the dishes to choose from are blinding. Very reasonable too. Been about 5 times. Just don't try to order too many dishes they come at the same time and the eyes are bigger than the belly! A+
Tapas Tapas – WaterlooThe food is always excellent with warm friendly service, i go as much as possible
Dragon and Phoenix – St.HelensThe restaurant was looking a little tired as were the service staff, broken light bulbs and shoddy furniture and although the food was good the overall price did not reflect the surroundings or service received. Waitresses talking on their mobile, flat coke served from warm plastic bottles and inappropriate questions like 'marks out of 10 for the food?' turned what may have been a good experience in to a mediocre one. That being said good fresh tasty food was served quickly and showed quality ingredients, let down by almost everything else
Lefteris Greek Taverna – Mossley HillWhat is there to say about this place other than its absolutely my favourite restaurant in the UK, I live abroad and travel home 2 to 3 times a year and i always make at least one trip to the warehouse each stay, I have been going now for about 10 years and can honestly say that i have never had a bad meal. Mark the chef is amazing and all the staff are equally talented. I cannot wait until the new HOTEL opens this year. The food drink and whole ambience of the warehouse is well worth a trip.Hoping to get home Easter or Summer to have duck spring rolls or Tiger Prawns in chilli.. or maybe the thai inspired beef salad or to be honest whatever as the food is always exceptional
The Warehouse Kitchen and Bar – Southporti went on my staff night out and it was fantastic i returned 12/01/2008 for my brothers 21st bday the service food and atmosphere was amazing i couldn't fault it at all!!! try king prawn starter superb gordan ramsey eat your heart out!!!!!!
Piccolino – Liverpool City CentreAbsolutely beautiful, one of the best restaurants in Liverpool.
The Monro – Liverpool City CentreI have loved villa romana since i first came here as a child. My parents used to go before i was even born, and i don't know whether its the food or the atmosphere or even the kind waiters, but i love that restaurant. It is my favourite restaurant, and any where i have ever been has never compared to the Italian food served there. The spaghetti marina is delicious, and i recommend anyone to try it. i can't believe not enough people know about Villa romana, as i associate this restaurant with my chidhood. I am 21 and i love it more everytime i go.
Villa Romana – Liverpool City CentreWe booked the supper club for a party of 6 on Friday night to celebrate a birthday - the food and service were brilliant - special mention must go to our waitress for the night - her customer service skills were a credit to the company. The portions were good, and the food was piping hot - our request for some veg without butter was dealt with friendly and efficiently and a more than generous serving was provided. The singer was really good, and then the dj following was also just right - the atmosphere was great - cant wait to come back ! Friday nights include a free bottle of wine per couple as well !
Blundell Street Supper Club – Liverpool City CentreI was looking forward to eating at the Spice Club after it was recommended not just on Sugarvine but by some work colleagues. Unfortunately I was utterly disappointed with the food. Everyones meal (four different meals) were sickly sweet and tasted of nothing but coconut. I have bought ready made Indian meals from supermarkets that tasted far better and at over half the price of what we paid at the Spice Club. I and none of my friends will be going back.
Spice Club – MoretonI am really enjoy my meal out at this new restaurant :-) . Very classy, stylish, posh restaurant. Fantastic food and good service. Would like to recommend alive music some time.
Gusto – HeswallThe Karma is fantastic, great food and very well priced. I used to go regularly but sadly have moved away now! I would recommend it to everyone, especially the chicken resmi kebab starters, they are immense! Richard Gartland
