Having dined here on the evening of 15th April, I would like to express my sheer disappointment with the entire experience. From the moment we set foot in the door, it was clear that organisation and level-headedness had descended into chaos and the inability to cope under pressure. We were informed that they were to be catering for a party of 17 people a short while after we were due to be seated. However, there were long delays in seating not only our party of 5, but also a further two families who arrived about the same time as us. The manager explained to us that the reason for this delay was due to the people already seated, who'd been there longer than the usual allotted 2.5 hours. I would like to add here that he apologised for our delay - something that, whilst redeemed him a little, proved to be pointless as he appeared to make no effort to hurry those people along. Finally, having taken our seats, he told us that he'd come for our order before he took that of the larger party. This meant we had to rush to choose something, only to wait almost an hour for it to arrive. By this time we were all extremely hungry. The food however, was lacking in taste, seeming quite bland; the yorkshire pudding - mainly the reason I chose the Sunday Lunch, looked burnt and was totally soggy from having sat in the lake of gravy on the plate; the vegetables also were very under seasoned. Altogether an unpleasant, distinctly average meal. To top this off, the entire restaurant was stifling - would it have harmed the staff to open some windows?? Having paid the bill, we did not even receive so much as a 'goodbye' as we walked out. Not somewhere I will be visiting again.

Amazing, have been twice now and each time with a big group. The food is to die for, the flavours so fresh. The service is so friendly and the dedication that must go into each dish as they are all freshly prepared. Can not stop recommending this restaurant so wonderful. Be prepared to have an amazing taste experience if you visit this restaurant.

Having travelled up from Kent to see my family, we booked a table for 14 people on 14/04/2012 at 9pm. We arrived early at 8.30pm and went upstairs for a drink, after several conversations with downstairs regarding our table we finally left at 10.30 and went to a local Indian. 5 star restaurant ? I DO NOT THINK SO.

I have been to the owls many times in the past and have enjoyed it very much, on this occasion we booked in advance so we didn't have to wait to be seated. We arrived early and I went to the reception desk, the lady handed is the menus and we went to get drinks. Within five minutes of getting drinks our meal orders were taken and we were asked to follow the waitress to our table. We followed her through the beautiful restaurant and up the stairs when to my surprise we were shoved in the far corner of the upper floor next to the toilets and several stacks of chairs! We accepted our disappointing table and it wasn't long before our starters arrived. The food was lovely and after the starters the mains soon arrived! The table location aside, this was when the disappointment started. It was over half an hour after we had finished our main (which was very nice) that our plates were cleared away and we were presented with the dessert menu. Not only was the desert menu covered in bits of dried food, the waitress also informed us that two of the five or 6 choices were not available. After a ten minute wait our dessert order was taken and after a further ten minute wait it arrived, the apple crumble was very nice! We were given no indication as to whether the bill would be brought to the table or whether we needed to go to the reception desk so after another long wait with no sign of a waitress we decided to go and pay, we didn't complain about the service at the time as there was a queue and we didn't want to put off any of the customers waiting. I was just disappointed that I had taken some friends who had never been before and had assured them that the owls was a very good restaurant and sadly tonight it did not live up to expectations. Very disappointed!

Ordered dinner from here and was pretty shocked to find a massive, dead bug floating on the top of my jungle curry. Rang the restaurant and spoke to the manager who sent someone to pick it up, however they did not bring a replacement. 10 mins later I get a phonecall and it's the manager telling me I'm a liar and that there was no bug. She refused to either refund the money or give me a replacement meal. I will never be eating here again, the food may be cheap but the service is atrocious and clearly it's not the cleanest of places.

They have recently opened a branch of La Salsa in Adlington, but trying to find any contact numbers or details about it are like trying to find a needle in a haystack!!!! Its been open well over 2 months now and yet there are no details on either 118.com or Yell.com and when I have repeatedly tried the number of the Horwich branch it either never gets answered or i'm told there is no one available to take the call and they do not have the facility to leave a message. All i can say is that it is poor marketing if no body can even find the place let alone book a table due to the lack of contact details!!! It has come recommended to me but i'm afraid the inability to even find the place is making it a bad choice from the start. Poor Service.....

Thought we'd try bollywood masala as we drove past and had never tried it. initial impressions were good, greeted with a friendly welcome and the decor seemed clean cut. however the food lacked real depth and flavour and the portions were too much. Alot of work needed on the food side of things if they are to keep up with the collection of restaurants in the city centre.

Friendly service, generous portions, good dessert selection, hope to return soon!

I was very impressed from the minute I set foot inside zaytoon. The ambience is homely and warm, and the owner is personal and very friendly. I felt comfortable also with the nice calming music in the background and the nice seating and decor. The food was utterly delightful! I mostly tend to go for vegetarian food, which the menu caters for nicely. I chose a tabbouleh salad and wonderful falafel with pitta, it was a lovely explosion of flavours for my taste buds. I definitely recommend it for anyone who wants a cultural food experience with great service!

Visited this restaurant for mine and my partners anniversary.. the service was very poor..Started with the smoked mackerel this was ok nothing special..Had the suckling pig for main very chewy no taste cold potatoes overall very disappointed.The dessert was chocolate brownie this was dry think it was stale to be honest.Will not be going back.

Basic quality, meagre portions and over-priced. Poor vegetarian choice. I've had far better food at Wetherspoons at half the price. The beer was not well kept and again, exorbitantly priced, especially for the area and a 'local' brewery.

We have been visiting Nam Ploy for about six years now, the food is just mouth wateringly tasty everything from hot to mild is just so perfect. My partner and the kids just love it . Best Thai restaurant by far.

At there for the 1st time last night. Have got to say it was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Atmosphere was great and service excellent. Will definitely return.

Well where do i start about the food. Below par food compared to the other Indian restaurants around city centre. starters were large portions enough for 2 people n the presentation was dire, overloaded with garden veg. the main courses were revolting and overpriced. i felt sick parting with my money at the end, definitely one to avoid. The manager n chef should taste what they're sending out..standards are shocking!!!

Wonderful traditional homely pub. Impressive wide variety menu and good price. However I'm vegetarian so had veggie cottage pie and was thoroughly disappointed, whatever herb was in this dish I just couldn't put my finger on but it was excessive and tasted bitter and spoiled it. Chefs think us veggies need more salt herbs etc etc but we don't I will return but never order that dish and hope that my next choice is a whole lot better!
