Me and a large party of friends went to the Copper Pot and we sat down at half 7. After taking 30 minutes for the waiters to take the order and a further 2 hours of getting our meals, we just wanted to go home. The food WAS nice in the end, however what we ordered did not come to the table. There seemed to have been a communication block somewhere, i am thinking from the waiter to the kitchen. The organisation of a big group of people was somewhat to be desired. I was a waitress throughout my first year at uni. I served over 50 people at once, by myself, and to a high standard to which they gave me a very generous tip. Instead of having 2 bills, they added everything onto one bill, then left us with a calculator to work out what everyone needed to pay. Furthermore, once we had finally tackled the bill, a further 30 minutes, a waiter (not sure if it was the manager) Sid, would not let us leave until he counted the money. Understandably so. We waited and waited. Whilst we waited for it to be counted, i kindly asked why it took so long for the meal to be served, he ignored my question. I asked again. Once again, ignored. Then a third time, i said "excuse me, can you tell me why it took 2 hours for our meal to be served?", sadly, i got a one word answer. "Busy". After that, i had to point out that he was being extremely rude to our party. Once i had said that, he insulted us by telling us that we had not put down enough money and we were not to leave until we paid. To which i said, 4 of our party groups had checked the money, and all were saying that it was right. He did not like this and said that we should go to somewhere where we can afford next time, like McDonalds where the happy meals are £1.99. I was infuriated and so where the rest of the party. He also threatened to call the police because we were merely asking him questions about the service that night. Considering that it had taken two hours for our main to come, our party began to get slighty restless and they had to keep themselves occupied by going to the bar and getting a round of drinks in. I could see that some of the waiters were getting a little aggrivated by the behaviour of some of our party, to which i can understand fully. However, this still doesnt justify the rudeness, the insults or threatening to call the police from the waiter, Sid. ( i have a feeling that he was the manager, which makes this situation a million times worse as the managers are supposed to have an understanding, kind attitude towards the customers). Appauling night. If you are a party more than two, be prepared to be insulted about your wealth, or should i say, 'lack of', even if you do have sufficient funds (like our party). Be prepared to be waiting a large amount of time for your food, so dont forget to bring lots of money for the over priced drinks. (£5 for a vodka and orange juice) And finally, do not ask any questions at all. Because we dont really want to spend the night in a cell for asking a question nicely, do we?

Sykes is a legend - consistently good chips, great size portions, friendly staff - they even have a choice of steak and kidney puddings (hollands or traditional rag pudding). try it and enjoy.

Went for Mothers Day last night, for the first time, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Was a bit confused when we arrived outside, just seeing the take away part but then was nicely surprised when we walked through to the restaurant at the back. Friendly and welcoming service. Food was delicious. Already thinking about my return visit!! Excellent!

Turkish Delight – Chorlton

Absolutely overpriced. Doesn't seem to know exactly what cuisine it wants to dish up. Extremely expensive and not matching up with the quality of food on offer. Very dark inside and had trouble reading the menu. The sushi starter I had seemed to have come straight out of the packet from M&S!!! The Green curry, nothing special and the mixed tandoori my husband had, straight from the curry mile. (he chose this through lack of anything remotely original from Thailand on the menu). Overpriced wine and overall paid £71 for two very mediocre courses and a basic bottle of red. Never again!!!!!!

Vermillion – Moston

I used to live in Didsbury and got a takeaway from here virtually every week, the food is amazing. It was great that you can watch the chefs preparing the food in front of you, which is different from what most takeaways do when they make your food behind closed doors. You can tell they use really fresh produce as all the dishes are really light, I especially loved the Singapore fried rice dish they do. The ribs they do as well as really good, again compliments to the owner for his ingredients. Don't get to eat there any more as moved away from Manchester now, highly recommended for anyone living in Northenden, Didsbury or Chorlton. Also it is much better value for money than all the Didsbury takeaways who in my opinion are all overpriced, including Globe.

I've never had a bad meal in all the years I've been eating at Automatic. The staff are great and aim to please. My daughter loves it so much she had her 18th birthday celebrations here. Everyone had a fantastic evening.

I have to say we were rather disappointed with our dining experience. Our starters of one prawn and one salmon dish were in our opinion over-priced, especially the salmon, which was a very minimal portion. However, both were very tasty. The real disappointment for us however, was the cuts of chicken in the main courses. It never occurred to us that we would not be served breast meat, which has been our experience in all other Indian restaurants we frequent. The chicken appeared to a be a mix of mainly thigh and leg cuts- very little white meat. The sauces and spices however were again tasty. The service was very friendly but perhaps the menus especially the cuts of meat being used should have been explained to us. It is not what we would regard as good value for money.

Visited La Roma for the first time on Saturday night 6th March without prior booking. Although the restaurant was very busy we were accommodated without a problem. Very, comfortable and relaxing surroundings in the bar and restaurant areas. Excellent venue, excellent Host, excellent, staff, excellent service, excellent food. What more can one say?!!

The food is always of a high standard. I've never had a bland meal here in comparison with a number of other very ordinary Indian restaurants/takeaways in the area. I work abroad in Peru where there is no Indian food and always really look forward to coming home and having an eat-in or takeaway meal from the Simla.

To be honest, I was a little skeptical about all the positive reviews I had had read regarding Buffet City. It all sounded too good to be true! However, the food was lovely. Even for a family member who is not 'keen' on Chinese cuisine; they enjoyed the variety and the atmosphere. Would I go again? Yes. It's situated in a great place; the heart of the city centre. It has the friendly environment, the gorgeous food and a reasonable bill at the end. Buffet City is great for groups to meet at. Couple/first dates - find a cosy restaurant somewhere. Families - great for all.

We visited Indigo for the first time on Friday night 5th March for my Birthday. We found the service and the quality of the food really good definitely the best in Farnworth, we will return soon.

Really good food and a pleasant atmosphere. A wide menu with Thai classics and specials that are less popular, really fresh and delicately prepared. Just over £40 for two courses for two people. We discovered this place by complete fluke - were fed up of the queues and hassle of the Trafford Centre so went for a drive - and struck lucky. Above the pub, the dark wooden tables and beams are contrasted by the light walls and high ceiling, and the light music allows for conversation (often about the food).

I took my partner and five friends to Sanmini's last night, two of these 'curry virgins' and six of us totally new to South Indian food.. Wow, what a fantastic evening - the menu was explained, dishes recommended (hard to order when you don't know what goes with what, but we were helped with this with no rush or pressure), the service was fantastic.. And the food - amazing food! Wonderful flavours and fragrances, varying levels of 'hot' and 'not so hot' but nothing, even to our rather bland palates, was overpowering at all, no matter how spicy. Every member of our party tried something (more than one thing) new and every single one of us will be back again!

New Himalayas is an absolutely brilliant restaurant. I have been to many curry houses and find the food here by far the best! The Lamb Harrey Masala Ka Gosht (a spinach curry) is excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. The Thali (a selction of three different curries with rice and bread) is a great choice for beginners!

This is possibly one of the most stuck up restaurants i have ever eaten in. aside from the fact that there was a rat in the main dining room whilst we were eating the staff are rude and make you feel like you should be grateful to be eating there. the service is poor and our over all experience was shocking from start to finish! would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!!!!

I have visited this wonderful restaurant many times and each time I marvel at how fantastic it is! From the beautiful (and I mean BEAUTIFUL!)waiters, to the fabulous atmosphere and the delicious food there really is no better place to dine in Manchester in my opinion. Also great for celeb-spotting but go mid-week!
