my wife is currently in hospital and as a treat, thought i'd get a decent takeout, rather than the usual rubbish. what a mistake that turned out to be. i asked for a salmon pasta along with a meal for my wife. they told me salmon pasta wasn't on the menu but they'd make it for me anyway - great! having left my wife in hospital, i collected the food (nearly £30 for 2 pastas & garlic bread - had read good reviews so didn't mind paying for good food) having got back to my wife's side, i discovered that my pasta had prawns in it. i don't eat seafood, so called to complain. the way i was treated i still can't believe now. they were so rude and obtuse, i almost had to hang up on them i was so shocked. they said 'we thought we were doing you a favour?' not much of a favour to someone who doesn't eat seafood, and why not ask if i wanted prawns when i was on the phone? it looks like a lot of their pasta dishes have prawns in and they were too lazy to make a fresh sauce. i still cannot believe how outright rude the were to me. they eventually agreed to refund me the 14.95 for the pasta i can't eat and suggested i don't go there again which i certainly won't. ironic thing is that their name means friends/friendly (i think). ps the garlic bread was very nice :-)

my wife and i visited la lupa twice, the first time was passable, but the second time it was very poor. the minestrone soup tasted sour, and my wife had the halibut which was completly over cooked. my overall impression is that the food was poor. we will not be going back to la lupa again.

I honestly cannot compliment or recommend this restaurant enough!!! I have been on several occasions now, both lunch time and evening, and have found it perfect every time!!! The staff are always welcoming, to children as well which is lovely to see as some other restaurants near here don't welcome children!!!! the food is always top standard and have never once had anything to complain about!! well only that i cant dine there daily!!!!!! would definitely recommend La Roma to anyone looking for a authentic italian meal in a warm friendly atmosphere

just enjoyed another fantastic meal at la roma, i consider myself quite a fussy eater and don't usually have many options on the menu but ive managed to have something different each time ive been here there's so much to choose from. The staff are lovely and the restaurant itself is always clean with a good atmosphere. the big plus for me is that it is so child friendly and everyone is made to feel welcome. I've been really impressed how accommodating the staff have been when we've gone for lunch from work, its usually difficult to coordinate 20 of us fitting a nice meal into an hour but we fax our order through and our meals are waiting for us, no rushing or need to take a doggy bag out with us!! keep up the good work.

We were told about the Angel by someone who writes restaurant reviews, but it took us a while to get there. I'm so glad we did. Yes, it's a small local pub in a bit of a down at heel Manchester (but with lots of new apartments going up- is someone trying to gentrify Ancoats?) Yes, the decor reflects this. But frankly, I didn't care in the slightest because the food was excellent, the beer (I'm told) was good & the service friendly. The menu was short, but still gave me problems deciding what to have. It was supplemented by some daily specials, which included Spam fritters! (Sorry, didn't get round to them, got stuck at the Morecambe Bay shrimp fishcake). We had our tame vegetarian with us. She's a good barometer as to whether a restaurant's good, based purely on what's available for her - she gets bored with pasta etc, which, as she points out, she can make at home for a fraction of the price. Although there was only one possible starter and one main course on the menu, she couldn't have been happier than with her goats cheese crumpet followed by potato cakes with mushrooms. Oh, the carnivores were kept happy too - black pudding starter for my other half & then fishy main courses - fish stew with spinach for him, and a whole sea bream for me. We had a side order of chips and vegetables. All three of us found that one portion of each was enough to keep all of us happy. We managed (barely) the Eccles cakes for dessert, and staggered out full. And we'll go back.

Lovely decor and friendly staff, the food was a little disappointing compared to Chaophraya.

Having never been in the Dilshad before i had the best Indian meal of my life earlier in the summer and as a result myself and boyfriend now regularly ring and collect a takeout from here. The food is fresh, tasty and above any other standard we've had before! We dread being invited out anywhere else now as no where compares to the Dilshad, 10 out of 10 every meal, and staff go out of their way to make you feel like you're their best customer :) Lisa & Dave

A truly lovely dining experience with friendly staff. The food was magnificent especially the chicken shashlik which offered a unique taste that i had not tasted before in other restaurants. Highly recommended!

Probable the best Indian takeaway I've had - for taste, quality, value for money, portion sizes and service. I'd recommend it.

We went on Saturday 8th August. The angel is a contradiction in terms. Initial feelings were that the ambiance wasn't great, it smelt abit fusty and damp and it looked shabby. We were taken upstairs which again had little atmosphere, even the music playing wasn't great. I think they had the radio on which was weird. The menu was short and concise which I like because you're not overly baffled with choices, I started with the Morecambe Shrimp Fishcake and my husband went for the Duck Liver pate, both were taste sensations, only slight complaint was that the toast was burnt and it could have done with either another slice of toast or less pate as the amount of pate was uneven. For main I had the chicken breast with black pudding and it was absolutely incredible, so fresh and tasty and the gravy was really rich and concentrated. It came with the biggest slab of black pudding and a lovely layered potato (although we were pigs and had chips too!). My husband went for the ribeye and it was cooked to perfection, amazing!! We shared a bottle of Chilean white wine which was lovely but the portions were so substantial that we couldn't fit anything else in us which was disappointing because we wanted to try the famous Eccles cake pud. The staff were lovely, the girl that looked after us had obviously tried the menu because she could tell us about it and she was friendly and attentive. The food came within a decent time and we feel neither rushed or abandoned. The only gripe we can have is that the place is so shabby, you could say that we should just concentrate on the food but as an overall event, the decor really lets it down. The high standard of food deserves a lovely setting. We turned up dressed to the nines on a Saturday night for a rare night out and felt really out of place, it feels like the sort of place you'd go to for Sunday lunch and a relaxed pint but then you would probably balk at the price on a Sunday afternoon as 2 starters, 2 mains and a bottle of wine set us back £60. A lotmore effort on the decor required but food is second to none!

Really nice tapas served here...all cooked in front of you in an open-view kitchen. I personally believe La Torre is of a higher quality then any of the La Tascas I've eaten at. Better food and better value. Will definitely be dining here again.

I have read your policy on negative views and would like to give a constructive criticism, the Dhanak Deira has no direct contact for e-mail. I went for a meal there last night and with a party of five sat down and ordered a meal at 8.20, the starters arrived at 9.10 and the main meal at 10.30. Apparently there was a problem with the catering for a large wedding party upstairs. There was an altercation with a wedding guest, which was actually quite entertaining. We refused to pay the bill of £76 and the bill was adjusted to £35, the point if this complaint is to suggest to the manager that we appreciated their difficulties but would have appreciated an apology for poor service and whilst we were waiting we could have been served with a few poppadoms and sauces and an explanation for delay. In short a more professional attitude and less basil fawlty, the food was excellent but small portions.
