Went with Chinese foodie friends who know a thing or two about good Cantonese food. Great experience, the best dim sum I've had. We gave ourselves over to our friends' recommendations and were rewarded with plate after plate of delightful textures and flavours. My favourite dish? The BBQ Honey Pork steamed buns. I could eat - oooh - 20 of these babies in one sitting! The price? Amazing value - Seventy quid for six of us. The decor is groovy - a style best described as 'opulent kitsch' but perfect for the occasion. Please go - you won't regret it

The service is terrible. The waiter was disrespectful towards my wife.

What can I say about ShahenShah... It has been one of the top restaurants on Rusholme Road for 20 years or so... It has changed in that time, but the quality of the food has remained consistently good. Staff have come and gone but the whole experience has always been good to great. A classic Rusholme Curry House with an excellent menu and great staff!

Until now, the slow service and tatty decor were always compensated by the exceptional food. But no more it seems. The trademark dosas were very poor - the fillings poorly cooked, crudely spiced and with several key ingredients missing. This was the best restaurant on the Curry mile, but it looks as if it's falling behind.

Very nice pub run by very nice people. The menu is changeable, but usually contains the usual suspects like fish & chips, steak and ale pie and steaks, as well as some slightly different dishes such as duck with berry sauce, garlic chicken, or salmon with a white wine sauce. All dishes are home made by an extremely proud chef. Prices are good (in proportion with quantity as well as quality). If you're into roast dinners then a visit on a Sunday is a must!! With Chicken, Lamb or Beef on the menu and various starters and desserts too. I recently tried the starter of Black Pudding (real bury black pudding) with peppercorn sauce and melted cheese - this was fantastic!! The peach melba was a star dessert too. I highly recommend this pub for food, drink and a truly relaxing time.

In the past I have been a fan of the one lounge, but was very disappointed after purchasing a £15 ticket on New Years eve to find inside the place was freezing cold so had to keep my coat on all night along with the rest of the people in there, and the cocktail menu had changed from last time and after ordering 2 cocktails which were not very nice at all and no offer of any exchange or recommendation of another cocktail, this place is now very "off " my list of cocktail bar's for future. Very disappointing.

Ignorant staff, cheap alternatives used not local produce - avoid like the plague!!!

Went to the Olive Garden last weekend and what an amazing night. This restaurant has an atmosphere you cant find anywhere else. The place is buzzing, the staff are some of the best group of staff i have ever been served by...The head waiter Mimo is such a character and really took great care of us! There is also such a pleasant young man behind the bar who was telling us of his stories in America. Its so nice to go to a restaurant and enjoy the company of the staff...all of them are wonderful! Food is out of this world...cant recommend this place enough.

I definitely recommend a visit to Sugos. After dining in the restaurant when it was Daniellis I enjoyed the food, however I feel there has been much improvement since the relaunch, from the decor which is fab to the friendly and attentive staff. The food continues to impress, especially the specials menu which usually leaves us all spoilt for choice!! Definitely give it a try!

WOW ! This was such a fantastic visit to - ANCORA - As soon as we walked through the main entrance you could feel the buzz on this bar/restaurant & the marvellous aroma wafting down from the restaurant above was just so inviting. We were just so spoilt for choices on this menu - an incredible array of starters/pasta & pizza/mains/deserts and also daily specials. We had drinks in the bar first then we were taken upto the 1st floor to dine, we were really looked after by efficient staff at every level of our meal, there were all so attentive and jolly in their duties, and it was nice to see that some of the staff members were Italians. It was so refreshing to eat authentic fresh Italian food served in a brilliant atmosphere in Oldham ! I have been to the Manchester - San Rocco establishment before so I knew that the experience would be great. When the bill arrived we were even more impressed with the final cost - for this level of service & menu you would expect to pay a lot more, even double the amount that we paid. We found out that " ANCORA" in Italian means more - we will certainly be having more of this yummy restaurant. MISS BERNADETTE DOLMAN

We have visited this restaurant on several occasions and have never been disappointed. The staff are unfailingly polite and helpful. The food is excellent and the ambience charming. All the personnel work hard to ensure that patrons have an enjoyable experience and we shall certainly be going there again. Thanks to all concerned.

Best Kebabs in eccles after 1.00am. They do the trick!!!!!

I would highly recommend Sweet Mandarin. A number of friends and I visited for dinner and had a great time. The food was fresh, delicious and probably the best Chinese I've tasted in ages. We ordered the Mabel's Claypot Chicken, Lily's curry, Sweet and Sour Chicken, King Prawn Satay, Mixed Vegetables and Tofu and Wambamboo (Char Sui and Mushrooms). It was good to see that they had Chinese favourites and home recipes on the menu. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun. The service was exceptional - friendly and knowledgeable. Sweet Mandarin is in the heart of the Northern Quarter which is a huge plus - its a great place to hang out during the weekend. I will definitely be back soon.

First impressions of Ambiente were good, the restaurant itself authentically decorated and quite comfortable. The staff are polite and friendly. There are plenty of corners to sit and there is a warm fire place too. The tapas served were very nice, we also ordered the meat Paella. The Chorizo tapas was excellent. I thought the paella was average and I've had better at other restaurants, although I like mine with a bit of crispy rice which isn't to everybody's taste. The only downside to the restaurant was the price, at least £15 for 1 portion of Paella. The prices had since gone up, which are different from the website menus.

I had a reservation 5.30 Saturday evening, December 6th. Got there at 5.30 on the dot, place full downstairs. People in front being told they will have to wait 15 mins and told to go to bar for a drink. I said I had a reservation but they said my table was not raedy for 15 mins and to go to bar. I did not want a drink at the packed bar so waited by entrance. Afetr 2 or 3 minutes we were taken upstairs and all of the tables were empty!. I feel as though we were told to go to the bar only so as to get us to spend more money! After ordering food, waited 30 minutes for starter - just tapas. Then waited another half an hour for the amin courses to arrive. Apparently not enough staff in the kitchen to handle a full restaurant. The main courses were OK but only OK. I would say stick to the tapas and not go for the main courses. Out of 10, i would give the experience 2.

Hi we had a a fantastic meal on christmas eve . The menu was brilliant.

Very disappointing recently. Used to be a regular but the standard of service and quality of food has been slowly getting worse. After the last visit one of our party was given a meat dish, after checking that it was the veggie option he had ordered, and being told it was, he tucked in.....to a chicken rogan josh! This was the final straw for me!

Visited Loch Fyne Didsbury Xmas Eve 24 December for a birthday celebration and the meal was absolutely terrible. Restaurant was understaffed had to wait ages for drinks etc. Food was even worse. Ordered a £44 sea food platter "hot and cold", all of which was cold except for the under-cooked mussels. The shellfish was tasteless and of the same consistency as rubber. It seemed some of the shell fish was thawed quickly as the shells were limp and the flesh soggy. Prawns, langoustines and crayfish all had eggs on their underbelly and scallops where still frozen. For an establishment that 'specializes' in seafood I find this unacceptable. We did complain and received a free basic desert but after spending in excess of £140 on food and 1 bottle of wine this was simply not good enough and went home still starving as did not eat the egg laden shellfish. It seems this establishment is just another low quality chain restaurant.
