Probable the best Indian takeaway I've had - for taste, quality, value for money, portion sizes and service. I'd recommend it.

Red Lounge – AudenshawWe went on Saturday 8th August. The angel is a contradiction in terms. Initial feelings were that the ambiance wasn't great, it smelt abit fusty and damp and it looked shabby. We were taken upstairs which again had little atmosphere, even the music playing wasn't great. I think they had the radio on which was weird. The menu was short and concise which I like because you're not overly baffled with choices, I started with the Morecambe Shrimp Fishcake and my husband went for the Duck Liver pate, both were taste sensations, only slight complaint was that the toast was burnt and it could have done with either another slice of toast or less pate as the amount of pate was uneven. For main I had the chicken breast with black pudding and it was absolutely incredible, so fresh and tasty and the gravy was really rich and concentrated. It came with the biggest slab of black pudding and a lovely layered potato (although we were pigs and had chips too!). My husband went for the ribeye and it was cooked to perfection, amazing!! We shared a bottle of Chilean white wine which was lovely but the portions were so substantial that we couldn't fit anything else in us which was disappointing because we wanted to try the famous Eccles cake pud. The staff were lovely, the girl that looked after us had obviously tried the menu because she could tell us about it and she was friendly and attentive. The food came within a decent time and we feel neither rushed or abandoned. The only gripe we can have is that the place is so shabby, you could say that we should just concentrate on the food but as an overall event, the decor really lets it down. The high standard of food deserves a lovely setting. We turned up dressed to the nines on a Saturday night for a rare night out and felt really out of place, it feels like the sort of place you'd go to for Sunday lunch and a relaxed pint but then you would probably balk at the price on a Sunday afternoon as 2 starters, 2 mains and a bottle of wine set us back £60. A lotmore effort on the decor required but food is second to none!
Angel Pub – Manchester City CentreReally nice tapas served here...all cooked in front of you in an open-view kitchen. I personally believe La Torre is of a higher quality then any of the La Tascas I've eaten at. Better food and better value. Will definitely be dining here again.
La Torre – UrmstonI have read your policy on negative views and would like to give a constructive criticism, the Dhanak Deira has no direct contact for e-mail. I went for a meal there last night and with a party of five sat down and ordered a meal at 8.20, the starters arrived at 9.10 and the main meal at 10.30. Apparently there was a problem with the catering for a large wedding party upstairs. There was an altercation with a wedding guest, which was actually quite entertaining. We refused to pay the bill of £76 and the bill was adjusted to £35, the point if this complaint is to suggest to the manager that we appreciated their difficulties but would have appreciated an apology for poor service and whilst we were waiting we could have been served with a few poppadoms and sauces and an explanation for delay. In short a more professional attitude and less basil fawlty, the food was excellent but small portions.
Dhanak Deira – BoltonGreat food and service! The thai papaya salad and Vietnamese rice spring rolls (bo bia) were both excellent and completely tasted authentic unlike most other thai/viet restaurants more local. Very impressed and will be back again sooon in a few weeks for sure!!
Dalat – NorthendenThe best chinese food I have ever eaten bar none - its prices are slightly higher than your typical chinese, but that reflects the portions and sheer quality of each dish. Add to that the luxurious decor and cosy lighting which is all to often missing from chinese restaurants, plus great service - I cannot recommend this place enough!
Laughing Buddha – DidsburyYou wont find a better curry any place in Manchester, great staff good price, And they are now doing a great night on the last tues of each month, last tues was an abba evening they were fantastic had every one up dancing singing with a 4 course meal and free drink all for £20.00,INC A QUIZ AND FREE RAFFLE TO WIN A MEAL FOR 4,
Standard Indian Restaurant – UrmstonI think this Tapas restaurant beats most of the ones I've been to in central Manchester. It's an absolute bargain during happy hour where you get two tapas for the price of one. The menu might not be that extensive but the food that they do serve is absolutely delicious! I recommend the chicken in white wine sauce - yum!
La Torre – UrmstonRainbow 88 is not only a fantastic restaurant but Linda and all the staff do so much hard work in fund raising and the ladys nites are defo not to be missed
Rainbow88 – CheadleVisited this restaurant a few time recently and been very disappointed by the standard of the food compared to the price. On our last visit a main course Greek salad consisted of three tomatoes sliced in half, some cucumber, a hand full of olives and three pieces of feta cheese - not impressive for £10! When we complained they took it away threw some more tomatoes and cucumber on the plate and returned - not the service I expect! They have a different "deal" every day to try to attract diners but unless they get the quality right it will never be value for money. You would be better to spend a few pounds more and walk around the corner to the Bubble Room - you wont regret it!
Ego Mediterranean Restaurant – BramhallDo I need to add more? Every recommendation has been glowing and I can only echo this. Having stopped in last week after missing a film, we discovered this is the best tasting Japanese restaurant in Manchester, bar none! Friendly, professional service, excellent chefs and a simple setting to dine on the freshest sashimi and sushi, savour Okonomi-yaki (Japanese pancake) and try green tea ice cream! Fabulous! We have eaten there 3 times in the last 4 days and there'll be more to come! 5 stars
Tokyo Season – Manchester City CentreA visit here is well worth while and the queue reflects why its so popular.. This fish and chips shop is always clean and tidy, staff are fast and friendly, this is a real hit with the locals.. The parking is limited to across the road. The food is good value for money. I personally recommend, the donner meat and chips with salad and sauce. That is a real hit. I love their burgers too.
Fish Chip ‘n’ Dip – BuryWe met friends here for Sunday carvery lunch, one of whom is vegetarian. The carvery meat was beautifully cooked, the yorkshire puddings were nice and crispy and there was a good selection of fresh vegetables and a selection of three types of potato - roast, new and mash. There was no vegetarian option for the carvery but the range of vegetables and potato made for a delicious plate of food. The price of the carvery includes a dessert - one of five sweet options. I had a jam pudding, my partner ice-cream with chocolate sauce and my friends chocolate cake. We all had an enjoyable meal and the staff were really friendly. We will certainly be going back.
The Harrows – RochdaleThe Standard is by far the best Indian experience i have had in Manchester. Forget the curry mile, this is the place to be! My mate took me one night, and that was it! i would never go any where else! I always get the same chicken nag! beautiful. The staff are very friendly and its a joy to go there. I very rarely give out compliments where food is concerned. This place is a must! trust me. Lads you do a great job! Tony and nick!!
Standard Indian Restaurant – UrmstonA week after dining in little Yang Sing we tasted its bigger brother ,the service, price and the quality were similarly,v good. Not as busy as I would have imagined, sat night ,didnt have to book,70 quidish for 4, starters soup main courses,a couple of celebs in.recommended.
Yang Sing – Manchester City Centreshahenshah restaurant 2009, i often eat at the shahenshah restaurant with my friends and family, there is a waiter who wears all black and has got a dark complexion who is always blowing his nose infront of customers while they are eating!not very hygienic with the swine flu pandemic around! the card payment machine seems to be always broken when he is around!very unfriendly and rude guy! other than that food is good and the other staff are brilliant
Shahenshah Restaurant – RusholmeHIGHLY RECOMMENDED! This has to be THE best Bangladeshi/Indian cuisine in South Manchester. The vegetarian dishes in particular are deliciously inventive (my favourite is Village Style Vegetable - although I suggest you ask for 'medium' as the 'hot' does tend to detract from the taste!). The staff are extremely helpful and courteous and very willing to adapt dishes to suit individual tastes. Once tasted you won't want curry from anywhere else!
Coriander – ChorltonFirst time customers, will definitely go back again. The service was great, food was brilliant and the chocolate cake was to die for!!! :)
