Lovely lunch for four of us Friday 20th September. Booked the table easily online a couple of hours before. Staff very welcoming and efficient. Risotto was a bit too salty but otherwise food was excellent. Great coffee. Piped music rather too loud but turned down as soon as we mentioned it. Would definitely go again.

First visit since the new chefs took over and had a very pleasant time. First impressions were that food looked a little "dressy" and I thought portions would be undersized, but the presentation of the food and the excellent match of flavours and textures was fine. All four of us enjoyed the meal.

Wow! What a find. What a great place to eat. Ambient, delicious food, relaxed. Great view from restaurant. We shall be back. .

Exceptional food and service. It’s a little gem this place.

Three of us went for a Sunday lunch on 8 September 2019 and the food and service were excellent. The roast beef was perfect and came accompanied by homemade Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings. The starters we had, which were garlic mushrooms and a chicken and ham terrine, were also delicious. Very highly recommended and good value for money. Very professional all round.

Never tasted the food. Booked online for a Sunday teatime. Arrived plenty of time for food and drinks. When we arrived the restaurant was shut? I regular customer informed us it was closed

It is the fourth time we have visited and had a meal. The food is first class. Unfortunately on our last visit (we were a party of 6) the restaurant was extremely noisy. There was a party of 6 young people and they were shouting and being silly amongst themselves. We did mention it to one of staff and they said they would tell them to be quiet but he didn’t even go over to them. Also one of the lads was sat in his dirty work clothes which is really unacceptable in a restaurant. I get that people are entitled to enjoy themselves, but there should a certain level of decorum.

Two couples visited the Dog for 1st time in over 5 years. The food and service was very good. Two in the party had roast beef, whilst other two had a beef burger & fish &chips. All of us enjoyed our food & will return when in the area.

Had yet another exceptional meal here last night. The homemade 3 cheese and caramelised onion pie was excellent. Mark and Jamie are two very talented chefs who are also friendly and attentive to their customers which is so nice to see. Service was excellent and the total bill was very reasonable. We will definitely be returning!

Honestly..... what a fantastic meal yet again.... 3rd visit in the last few weeks... different menu items each time and each time has been beyond excellent in terms of taste and experience. On this occasion I had a steak and it was cooked to perfection.

One of the best Sunday lunches we've had and at a price that's great value for money. If you've not tried this in the last 10 weeks, give them a go, you won't be disappointed. Well done guys, we've tried most of the pubs along the M65 / M61 and apart from some of the top end expensive "pubs" you're top of our list. Would be good to share your story with diners.

Fantastic food lovely staff highly recommend

A horrid wet Sunday greatly improved by a wonderful lunch at the Dog Inn. We were welcomed very warmly on arrival. Pre lunch drinks were sorted and we enjoyed them whilst going through the menu. Both of us decided to choose 3 courses from the Sunday lunch menu. They were all delicious and well presented. Have booked to go again next month!

Took my parents and in-laws for a meal, the food and service was excellent and we all enjoyed the evening!
