I hadn’t been to The Traders’ for many years but when my mother in-law suggested it for ‘tea out’ on a Wednesday evening I thought it’d be worth a visit to see what’s what. I made an easy-to-use online booking via the pub’s website and we arrived about two minutes late. The pub was bustling but we were greeted very promptly and shown straight to a nice table. We ordered drinks at the table and they arrived very quickly. Loads of menu choices - not necessarily ‘fancy’ - more traditional pub fayre. Mother-in-law chose fish and chips, I chose the steak pie. Both meals, again, arrived quickly and were generous of proportion and not lacking in flavour nor presentation (such as is possible with those dishes). Overall, we were both quite satisfied with our visit and would have no reservation with regard to revisiting! I dealt with two members of staff during our visit, both of whom were pleasant, efficient and welcoming.

Friendly atmosphere and good service as on previous visits here. Good food, decent portions and at reasonable prices. One of our favourite places for a relaxed meal.

A great pub with a traditional menu. The food is simple but of very high quality. The steak pie and ribs were particular favourites in our group of diners. Service was friendly and attentive.

Me and my mum visited on a Sunday lunchtime and both got the small Sunday lunch then Apple pie & custard. The food was excellent everything was cooked really nice and tasted lovely the small was big enough for us as we don't eat large portions our server was Neive she was fantastic very attentive even though she was busy and nothing was too much trouble very friendly young lady , all the other staff where lovely and a credit to the business owner. This pub is welcoming friendly and offering fantastic home cooked food if you haven't tried it yet it's most definitely worth a visit Thank you we will be back ! Zoe & Bev xx

Once more, a great meal at a reasonable price. Had my favourite chicken and black pudding melt accompanied by an excellent pint of Thwaites Original. Good service by friendly staff.

We enjoyed our meal in pleasant surroundings with lovely staff.

We dined here as we have eaten a good Sunday roast previously at The Trader’s Arms. A rather plain menu ,but with well cooked food . We shared a main course of ribs as a starter .Tasty and plenty for two. Main courses were pepperoni pizza and a steak pie with chips and peas. Again ,plenty of good quality food. We decided to treat ourselves as it was a special anniversary and ordered strawberry trifles. These were disappointing. Hardly any sponge fingers.The jelly was over diluted and the custard seemed tinned! The service was excellent though. Polite, thoughtful and experienced.The general atmosphere is warm and welcoming.

My steak pie was lovely as usual but it seemed much smaller than last time Fine for me but it wouldn't have been enough for my husband especially as the chips were bland and unappetising tonight. He enjoyed his ribs plus fries and salad, said they were the best he'd had but was not impressed with them being served on a wobbly board. Why do chefs still do this? Service was excellent, our waitress was very pleasant and attentive.

As always our food was excellent, no complaints there. However the service was disappointing. There were only two serving drinks and food, their job made more difficult with customers sat outside and coming in and out for drinks. They did their best but were overwhelmed at times.
