Elizabeth

I today visited The Partridge Inn Singleton for lunch with my friend. We very often meet up there, particularly in the summer, as it is pleasant to sit in the garden. After today's visit and the pantomime I witnessed, however I, nor my friend will return. I certainly will not be recommending it to anyone either. We sat at a table and a couple of more mature years sat on the table next to us. they ordered their food, and after a while, my friend and I ordered ours. Ours turned up, and we were halfway though our meal when the couple on the table beside us received theirs. The lady's scampi was burnt (quite badly) and she mentioned this politely to the waitress who took it back to the kitchen. The young waitress then returned with the same plate of food and advised that the 'chef' had said there was nothing wrong, and it 'should be crisp or else the middle would be soggy' My friend is actually a qualified chef and was in total disbelief. This was black in many places. When the lady cut the scampi open the breadcrumbs just shot all over the plate, where it was so dried out, and the scampi was a shrivelled dry lump. The waitress then came out and asked if everything was OK. The lady advised that no it wasn't, and she wouldn't be eating it (again she was very polite) The waitress took the plate away, then advised the lady that they would then cook another. The lady clearly said no she didn't want another (her partner had nearly finished his meal by this time). 10 minutes later a plate of Scampi arrived, and the lady advised AGAIN (very politely and patiently) that she didn't want it. The waitress took the plate away. Within seconds a man came storming over with the plate of food, and bellowed for all to hear (even made the people in the other part of the pub look) 'What exactly is wrong with this!!' She (again) politely replied that she had declined the offer of another plate when it was FINALLY offered to her. (As mentioned it was too late her partner had nearly finished). He then stormed off, and within a couple of minutes the poor waitress went outside in floods of tears. When the chap went to pay for the food, he said he didin't think he should pay for the Scampi, and AGAIN the Landlord berrated him, in a very loud voice for all to hear. The whole pub fell silent. It was a complete shambles. The lady was in tears on leaving. In in all my years of working in the public eye, I have NEVER seen such a display from such a nasty arrogant bully. I feel very sorry for the staff if this is the kind of outlandish, balshy, childish behaviour they have to put up with, and would not blame them one bit if anyone of them decided to take the matter further, should the anger be directed at them. I would like to suggest that this man firstly takes anger management councelling, and then either takes a course on dealing with members of the public, or maybe even steps out of the hospitality industry all together.

Shortly after coming home from dinner at Maximum Diner I found myself clinging to the toilet begging for mercy. Between the fat, bald, smelly man up front and the horrible food i wouldn't recommend this restaurant to a rat. food found on the ground in the back of the diner is safer to eat then the food inside.

Maximum Diner – Uckfield

I’ve never been to a restaurant before where the service & food has been so bad! The after effects was horrible sickness for a couple of days! It took over an hour for our starter of ‘re-heated tandoori chicken’ from several days before, followed by a main course, which arrived about 2 mins after the starter, no drinks ever arrived, a moldy taste about the main course. To sum mulakat up - “The SH***ST restaurant in Cambridge, My advice: there are plenty of litterbins in town, which could serve up better grub!

Mulakat – Worthing
Raging Bull

i found the service here really poor and i wouldn't recommend anyone going here!!!! unless they're getting 100% discount

Charlie Browns Diner – Eastbourne
Martync

I had a tasty, homecooked meal from the specials board. Excellent food and a very reasonable price. The spotted dick and custard for desert was something you don’t see that often. Nice relaxing restaurant and the staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely eat here again when I am in the area. Harvey's beer was good too.

Farmers Hotel – Lancing
Pingu

Awful, No Real Beer having spent an evening there. three of us on a Wednesday was asked to leave early, was about to go and given abuse from landlord (would have thought that he would welcome the custom on a quiet midweek evening) told that my eastern European partner should learn to be polite in this country, although she has been here for 15 years. (Barmaid was eastern European!!)When i said we would not be back landlord said good as I have been waiting for an hour for you to F@ck off! rude racist and obnoxious

The Coach & Horses – Worthing

the worst service and food i have had in a long time . When i complained that my lasagna was dry iwas told that the sauce was "in there somewhere ha ha " the management was no better. think twice .

Hay Waggon Inn – Hartfield

Sat by a roaring log fire eating a hearty home cooked dinner beautifully served in a pub with such great atmosphere. The Dolphin is a little haven, the history of the place, the decor, the staff and the regulars are a must. The food is wonderful both the way it's cooked and served, what impressed me is the fact that vegetarians are so well catered for too. I've fallen in love with this pub and can't recommend it highly enough.

The Dolphin – Littlehampton
Bobby

Sadly i went there today for a special tea but came away unserved and ignored. As usual early season staff are untrained by management

Exceat Farmhouse – Seaford
Noodles

great value for money. I would recommend the party menu (I think for 5 people or more). Great choice of starters, followed by crispy duck and then dishes of your choice. The more people in you party the more dishes you can choose but you are always given plenty. All this for £11 a head -great value.

August Moon – Hastings
Gourmansteve

We had a quiet evening meal in February which was superb. Portions were huge, and the staff were eager to please. Restaurant was spacious and spotlessly clean. We can't wait to go back and sample more off the menu, but apparently very very busy in summer due to campsite adjacent

Star Inn – Pevensey
Caras

BRILLIANT Very clean - Great atmosphere All locally sourced, free range and organic food - freshly cooked to perfection. The veggies are taken care of well - i was pleased and glad to see that somewhere that cooks meat well can also offer a real vegetarian option and my husband a really meat lover - loved the beef - cooked to perfection and really tender. Good value for money as the plates are piled high. its now my fave place in hove!
