Eaten here about 3 times over the last 6 months. Staff always friendly and attentive. I always have the same menu choice. This time my meal was very salty and so was everyone else’s - large group. The thing that really disappointed me though was when the bill came, extra drinks had been added costing an additional £14. When I pointed it out to the girl she didn’t query or apologise just took it away and brought back amended bill. It appeared the staff knew exactly what had gone on. In addition to the salty food this left a very bad taste in my mouth. I wont rush back if this is how they treat large groups, adding extra drinks thinking nobody will check. I’m scoring low on service because of the billing issue. Otherwise staff are great

My husband and I have been a few times and always had excellent food and service. We had a Travelzoo voucher for a 3 course meal for two so booked for Saturday 14th of September. The food was excellent and the service was great until the desserts. I ordered the sticky toffee pudding and was enjoying it when I felt a hair in my mouth!!! I informed the waitress who promptly said “well it’s not mine but I’ll tell the chef”. I was totally disgusted and disappointed as no-one came near us to apologize or offer any form of explanation. We decided to leave and asked for the bill at the bar. One waitress asked was everything good with our meal and I said “well to be honest no!!” And told her about the hair in my food!!! She said “Oh was that you....I thought it was another couple!!!”. I also told her we were offered no apology or explanation and she said we could come another time and use the voucher again to which we replied that we couldn’t as we were away until the end of September and the voucher had to be used by the end of September. The chef then said we could come for Sunday lunch which we couldn’t make either. So his answer was to walk away!! I explained we still hadn’t had any form of apology to which she then offered her apologies and offered to pay for our drinks we had with our meal!!! Firstly the apology had to be asked for instead of offered and the price of 4 drinks didn’t cut it with me as another diner behind us complained about the service and food and was offered 50% off his meal!!! To find a hair in food absolutely makes me sick and instead of looking forward to a great night out I felt so sick both my husband and myself just ended up getting a taxi home!!!! Totally disgusting and disappointed with the whole experience!!!!!

We're lucky enough to have been before but we brought our daughter as a birthday treat. Once again everyone was really nice. The food was lovely and service was great. The people have got it right, they engage with you and make you feel so comfortable. Our daughter lives away, she wishes Sabrosa was local to her!! Well done, everyone, again. We will be back!!

As a group of six ladies celebrating a friend's 50th, we dined at 1699 Brasserie on the evening of Friday 6th September. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, even though we'd had a last minute change to our numbers. The food, especially the mains, were delicious and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The staff had gone to the trouble of decorating our table and we had a lovely breakfast there the following morning.

We recently held a baby shower here & from the moment we arrived the staff were friendly & couldn’t do enough for us (special shout out to Becky!) I would highly recommend this place for any occasion, they table was fully decorated before we even got there & the staff even put our decorations up for us! Lovely atmosphere & will definitely be coming back!

We had a beautiful meal at 1699 . Seabass and steak were excellent as were the staters and deserts. Menu quite limited as it’s a small restaurant and everything is freshly cooked. Staff attentive and polite. Will visit again.

Had a very enjoyable lunch and service was good. Would recommend the Town House 1699 Brasserie. Hope to return soon.

Both myself and my partner really enjoyed here, lots of meat variety and really filling The garlic beef and honey pork were incredible and I would come back just for these, Cocktails also delicious and not too expensive at all! Would have liked more of a dessert option but that would be my only negative point! Absolutely would recommend

Had weekday lunch recently in The Annexe. Lovely food, good choice, portion size. Staff very friendly, helpful and nothing too much trouble. Would recommend!

We had our wedding anniversary dinner here it was superb, the table was dressed delightfully including a happy anniversary card (nice touch!), the food was excellent and the staff could not of been nicer. Would definitely go back when next in Chester.

Went along with some friends who all really enjoyed their food, very impressed with portion sizes, general flavours of everything we had was lovely, good variety of tapas, informal, attentive service, won’t be longing for Spain as much now we´ve found you.

We had a wonderful meal in a relaxed atmosphere. Authentic tapas served by Spanish staff. Will definitely be visiting again.

Great food. VERY POOR PEOPLE SKILLS!! The landlady/manageress 's attitude was disgusting. My girlfriend and I will not be frequenting this place again
