Fantastic food, one of the best meals I have had in a long time and wonderful staff!

Our first visit and what a marvellous experience. Relaxed atmosphere, delicious food , a wee bit pricey but worth it.

Fabulous Pub. Decent quality food at reasonable prices. Good choice of items along with a daily specials board. Very good portion size and good choice of vegetables to go with dishes. Always very busy with a great atmosphere so book to get a table!

I can’t believe that we’ve lived in the Penrith area for years but only recently ‘discovered’ Grants. We’ve dined there twice in the last month or so and it is really excellent. Expect a warm, friendly welcome from the team who are helpful and knowledgeable. The menu is interesting and original, the wine selection is limited but good quality and terrific value. Most importantly the food is great. Last Saturday my wife had the cheese soufflé followed by the lamb and hotpot combination and both were fantastic. I had the tomato salad with gazpacho and then the best fillet steak I’ve had for a long time, served with a blue cheese rarebit topping. Original and beautiful. I couldn’t resist the fruit crumble and custard dessert, also first class. Great place.

We enjoyed our meal was very tasty. Nice pub with great atmosphere and friendly staff. We will be back when we are visiting the Lakes again.

We enjoyed a delicious meal at Lewis’s Bistro. Between us we had three different starters, mains and desserts, we enjoyed every dish. For myself, the 8hr slow cooked pork was divine! The staff were friendly and helpful. We will certainly visit again the next time we are in Grasmere.

Great food, huge helpings!! Really nice staff, and even though it is busy, they still see to you attentively. Loved it. Best pub food in the Lakes!

The atmosphere was friendly and the food was excellent. Just from our point of view though the tables were really crammed in so you felt squashed and it was quite warm because of that. It was not a relaxing environment and we were pleased to get back outside.

We have eaten at the Pheasant before and really pleased to find out that we could book a table. The food was excellent as were the staff. Would happily recommend eating here.

Really enjoy our stay! Loved every minute of it! Bed was comfortable, atmosphere was amazing, staff is great! Will stay again for sure and recommend to the friends!
