Cibo – BarrowWe had the regular afternoon tea which was great value for money and the scones were amazing. At first we only had 8 sandwiches between 3 of us but when we questioned it they realised we were 4 sandwiches short and they quickly rectified their mistake. I will definitely be back.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessWent on Saturday, table booked for 3pm. Hugely busy, queue to get in. People not following Covid guidelines, not 2 meters apart. Lots of staff crossing over each other with people queuing to pay as well. Staff seem to be very chaotic in taking orders and delivering food. People around us waiting for extended length of time. Some understandable teething problems but there needs to be a bit of an overhaul. Regards Covid - not all staff wearing visors, delivering drinks/ food - should be left on tray for customers to take off, staff leaning over customers . No sign of staff cleaning hands during times of service, we were there for 2 hours Staff do not seem to be assigned to certain sections- this would be beneficial if someone tests positive at any time as you could contact a section of people and staff and not have to shut the venue completely Cleaning of hand rail/ tables etc - seemed inferior - no cleaning if handrail noted and a quick wipe of table only, no cleaning of chairs Payment - issues with some people paying at table and others paying at the till. System not updating quick enough meaning, previous customers orders still on our bill when it came to pay. Staff having to ask customers what they had to eat/drink, due to Covid - should be paying at the table really anyway but not enough staff to do that. Food is great though and cakes were amazing Other food we saw like pizza, pasta, flat breads looked gorgeous I won’t be back until restrictions are lessened as I didn’t feel safe with Covid measures in place, this needs to be stepped up. Hopefully just teething problems.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-Furness4 of us came for the luxury afternoon tea, although the food was lovely we felt you didnt get much for your money at all and as it was luxury we would expect a glass of prosecco to be included and not have to pay extra. The Bakehouse looks amazing but as it was so busy it spoilt the atmosphere as there were definitely to many tables to adhere to the covod rules and no social distancing what so ever. The service was great and can not fault the staff at all as they were so friendly and nothing was to much trouble.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessHello, We were visiting the Lake District last week and staying in Ambleside. We like afternoon tea and became aware of Cedar Manor. We booked and experienced the most wonderful afternoon. The service was excellent, the surroundings spectacular and the tea with a special glass of Prosecco was out of this world. This really made a special interlude in our short stay. The Lake district is special and Cedar manor compliments it. Thank you
Cedar Manor – WindermereDecor was beautiful, nice job and liked the new entrance. Lower level was heaving , far too many seated too close together. Food was ok , but only had mains due to timings ...... seated at 1.15 pm .... main course arrived at 2.16 .... and the table was only ours for an hour and a half..... so after lunch coffee and puds happened elsewhere sadly . So so ..... would probably only go back for a drink when I was there for the shop . Don’t think I’d go again just for the Bakehouse .
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessLovely atmosphere. Service was great and very organised; staff very busy but very helpful when asked a question. Food was delicious.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessEverything about the Bakehouse at Charnleys is perfection, the staff are always amazing and very attentive, the food is mouth watering good and really good quality and excellent value for money. Looking forward to returning.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessStaff were friendly however there was a long wait for our food, we had already finished our drinks when food arrived. The food however was lovely and I would come again in future by which time the service will have hopefully improved.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessLovely food, will def go again. Love the new look and although the social distancing its was nice to have room around a table. Staff were very friendly and although a chef had walked out they managed to get things out to the tables. Well done guys.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessLovely food, good menu. Bit of a wait for food, drinks already gone. Overall very enjoyable. Will be back.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessFood was absolutely gorgeous and the place is lovely. It was very busy when we went and the waiter was really good but was rushed off his feet . I think they need more staff,we were not asked if we needed more drinks and ours were empty, neither were the guests on the tables near us. They would be able to make a lot more money on the drinks if the had staff available to offer them .
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessAbsolutely beautiful food, outstanding service, staff are all wonderful .
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessWe only had a scone, cake, and drink but couldn't fault them. Lovely scone and very fruity moist piece of flapjack. The added entertainment outside of the 4 buzzards over the railway tunnel was brilliant! You should market that!
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessI went to The Bakehouse on 1.10.20. The decor and food was good but I was concerned that our table was too close to the next one for safety. We were on the upper floor on a table for 2 between 2 tables for 4, quite near the steps to the lower floor. Also, some staff did not have any face coverings. I did not feel entirely safe. However, the service was good and we enjoyed the food.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessVisited on Wednesday 1.45. Had to queue to have temperatures taken markings on the floor not adhered to! Our table which was pre booked was still occupied so taken to another one,got there and the waiter shouted over it hadn’t been cleaned so we were stood waiting and I’m disabled so after 10 minutes my daughter asked if someone could clean the table. Looking over there was a large queue not social distanced to pay my daughter was anxious and asked a waitress why it was allowed to be like that as we were told it was table service and pay at the table as per government guidelines! We chose off the new menu which we were disappointed with as we’ve been going since it opened, decided soup and a sandwich the soup was way to thick and the bread roll was so hard we struggled to eat in fact one of us left most of it. The menu is a lot of pasta and pizza and some of the regular food has been taken off the menu. The cheese on toast we loved has disappeared along with specials. We felt there were to many people in and it took over an hour to get our food not our usual enjoyable lunch. We won’t be back until better covid guidelines are adhered to and the lunch time menu improves.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessLovely food and great service. Lovely new atmosphere. Decorated beautifully.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessOn arrival covid measures appeared great but people were queuing close to each other whilst waiting to be booked in and temp taken etc. Love the new decor, food was great and quick service at busy period. Lots of people walking around and did feel like people were brushing past me whilst moving about. Was also shocked to see a table not being wiped down between 2 different bookings and ice-cream cones that customers had ordered being served with bare hands of staff. Also some staff didn't have visors or masks on but most had a visor on. I was looking forward to looking at the Christmas decorations but it was too buys to be able to do with social distancing. But It hopefully means the business is doing which is a great thing.
