Booths Cafe – KendalFound this place on Sugarvine and was very pleased we did. Stayed the night and had a great meal too. I loved the venison cottage pie which was so much better than a traditional one. My partner very much enjoyed his Hake with Chorizo too. We enjoyed a nice Rioja to accompany the meal. Service was good and my man liked the Ales from the four poster bed bar!
Queens Head Hotel – WindermereWe called at Brambles after a walk on the fells. The welcome was warm and inviting for both us and our two cocker spaniels. The coffee and scones were delicious. We will definitely be visiting Brambles on our future visits to Windermere!
Brambles Coffee Bar – WindermereHad a great lunch in the lovely beer garden of this pub. Good large portions, my chicken and ham suet was spot on. Good Deuchars Ale too. Will return.
Brown Cow – Barrow-in-FurnessAward wining bakery with a great little cafe too. Have used them for outside catering and regularly get take outs. Vey much enjoyed my Chees and Leeks on Toast last time I ate in.
Broughton Village Bakery and Cafe – Broughton-in-FurnessLove this place!! Cakes are gorgeous, the bread is amazing and the staff are really lovely. Try the cinnamon swirls (to die for!)
Broughton Village Bakery and Cafe – Broughton-in-FurnessBest fish and chips we have had in years! place doesn't look that great but it's the food that counts!
Chippy Bank – UlverstonGreat spot in an olde worlde pub we found on Sugarvine. We both enjoyed our lunch and a couple of beers. Would return when in the area.
Blacksmiths Arms – Broughton-in-FurnessWe left full and content after our Chilli and Pasta dishes. Great old pub.
Black Cock Inn – Broughton-in-FurnessWonderful, comfortable, great food, welcoming, pet freindly, great location, English home cooked food with an extra touch. Would highly recommend
The Cuckoo Brow Inn – AmblesideSuperb setting,Superb food,Staff Great. Accomadation delightful, good winelist , can't wait to go back, which will be in November this year.
Borrowdale Gates Hotel – KeswickBest food by far. Food for all tastes and the kids have always loved eating there. Polite staff. A family friendly place.
Salvanas – Barrow-in-FurnessA very pleasant atmosphere and meal together with good service and felt welcomed. Rather busy but not overwhelming and became more relaxed later on as some customers left. Definitely a returning point and good value.
White Mare – SeascaleA comfortable place to stop off for a break with a lovely garden and the sound of the river with the recent good weather. The menu was a bit basic but food was definitely okay. A possible stopping off place when I pass again.
Stanley Arms Hotel – SeascaleIt was a wet Windermere lunchtime in late June when three of us called in for some repast. We were lucky enough to find a vacant table and take advantage of the soup and bacon sandwich special, an inspired choice and great value for money. It was our third attempt in three summers as it had always been full, and is easy to see why. What superb fare and value for money.
Brambles Coffee Bar – WindermereVisited this restaurant last night and have to say the food was super amazing and even though the restaurant was busy we received excellent service from the staff and I am sure the other tables did too. The table decorations were nice and matched the colour scheme of the walls and the uniform but some pictures were a bit out dated but this has no effect on the dining in this establishment. Really enjoyed spending the evening there and will definitely be going back while we are here.
Indian Ocean – WindermereWe stayed in the village for a celebration weekend and I booked a meal for the Saturday at Beswicks following some really lovely reviews...and I am so glad I did! We had a fantastic evening, from the pre-meal drinks in the lounge to the actuall meal and wine itself. The food and service was outstanding and Dave made us feel very welcome and quite spoilt. Would love to go back again for sure, a must for a visit to the area for everyone.
