Had a lovely valentines meal at the Ship Inn at Roose. The restaurant had been decked out with a valentines theme and the staff were very polite and attentive. The food was plentiful and tasty and served by a helpful smiley waitress. Both myself and my boyfriend really enjoyed the evening and will definitely return. Thanks :)

2 courses for £8.99 is very good value, I was surprised by such an extensive menu. As a vegetarian I thoroughly enjoyed the leak & potato bake & was pleased to see the mixed bean tikka.No veg lasagna!!! Great!! The children's food was well presented and well cooked, Most of all your staff are lovely, welcoming warm and relaxed. Welcoming warm and relaxed perfect, we loved the atmosphere of the inn and were pleased at the excellent level of hygiene. Your toilets are very well cleaned and presented, thank you for a wonderful meal!

Highly recommended. Interesting menu, friendly staff, lovely food. Went on a Saturday lunchtime but would be great at night too.

Had a fabulous weekend here recently. Beautiful bedrooms with great lake views, gorgeous food, a big wine list to get stuck into and lovely sunny winter weather -- what more could you ask for?

On a recent day in the lakes we came across The Brambles in Windermere and remembering it from the ITV Lakes programme we decided to have lunch. We found it a very friendly place with the bacon butty and tea or coffee an absolute snip at lakes prices of only £3 each and were treated very well by the two male staff on duty that day. We shall certainly be visiting again and probably taking some friends with us next time. We can certainly recommend The Brambles so if anyone is in Windermere make sure you visit this coffee house.

Rip-off Britain alive and well at Grange Bridge Cottage Tea Shop. Paid over £13 for (very enjoyable) snacks for 2 but refused an extra tea bag for personal preference without additional charge!! Refused ridiculous offer and declined to leave my normal 10% tip - so hardly good business for the proprietors!!

February 2010. Ive just spent the weekend in Coniston and looked on sugarvine and the good food guide and saw the reviews of Lucys. It certainly didn't live up to the reviews. I had to send two drinks back which were awful, the baked bruschetta had rancid meat on it, the rest of the food was mediocre at best. We were gutted because we were really looking forward to it after reading the positive reviews, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant, cheap food which was prepared badly.

This restaurant will have to do much better if they are going to stay in business. The food is OK (just OK) But we waited an hour for our starter to arrive which hadn't required any cooking and the main course arrived 40 minutes later. The very young staff were struggling but very apologetic.

The best cappuccino I have ever had! (seriously). The soup and sandwich was top quality and the service friendly. There were so many things on the menu I would have liked to try. Brilliant cafe!! I'll definitely be visiting again. Only problem is, I wish it was nearer London!!

Stumbled across this place last night. Great looking pub with Olde Worlde charm even though it apparently has just had a refurb. Very friendly staff and the food was good too. Shame it was so quiet, so go and give them some custom!

A delightful discovery on our recent day trip to Maryport. The ambience is warm and welcoming. The style is quirky. The quality is excellent. The experience is memorable. We only wish we were locals and could become regulars!

Didn't eat in this wonderful old hotel but was stunned by the excellent spa facilities. The best I have enjoyed!

Enjoyed my lunch here yesterday! Great spot, may stay the night next time.

Cannot praise this place highly enough, we had the gourmet meal with wine and it was the highlight of our honeymoon, the staff, service, food and wine surpassed our expectations. We would have no hesitation in recommending it to others!
