Superb! No other words for it. The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble for them, and the food out of this world and reasonably priced. Wasn't expecting to find a hotel of this calibre in Barrow. Definitely one to check out. I thoroughly recommend it

It's one I'm always happy to recommend to friends, who have never been disappointed. Went there recently as a party of three. We all had different dishes for three courses and every dish was beautifully presented, fresh and tasty. What more do you want from a restaurant? Don't just turn up - book it!
Jacksons Bistro – WindermereThis hidden gem is wonderfully welcoming. The food is wholesome yet innovative, with portion sizes you can only expect in Cumbria. The front of house staff are warm and engaging, most definitely worth a visit.
The Wheatsheaf Inn – KendalThe Brown Cow is a wonderful pub with a great selection of real ales, but it also does really good pub food, with large portions and the chips are some of the best I've had. Unless you are extremely hungry, the smaller portions of the cheaper versions are easily enough, and I do recommend their pies.
Brown Cow – Barrow-in-FurnessThe meal was nice I loved the base & tomato sauce :) My only complain will be about the manager female blond I felt that staff was being terrorized by her and I`m not being funny I really mean that I would still recommend this place to everyone.
Pizza Express – KendalSeveral years ago I discovered the delights of the Union Jack Cafe and am I glad I did! It is THE BEST cafe in Kendal. The food is home made, delicious and very reasonably priced. We own a holiday cottage at Keswick and eat at the Union Jack on our way up there and also on our way home.The service is quick and the staff friendly. We would never think of going anywhere else.

Sutherlands – WindermereThere are two restaurants at the Lakeside Hotel. After using the spa facilities we opted for the Bistro. Perfectly seared Tuna preceded first class steaks! It's ashame the chef chose gaufrette crisps to accompany the steak?? The dessert wine matched the bread and butter pudding. Service was attentive and friendly and our coffee was served by the fire listening to the pianist. As the name suggests the Lakeside has a commanding view of Lake Windermere. You really must give it a whirl!

Star Of Siam – KeswickI was very disappointed, having heard that Morrels has such a good reputation. The food really lacked flavour and the vegetables reminded me of school dinners (e.g. jacket potato burnt solid). The service was not good either - starters arrived before drinks, and even after we reminded staff about drinks we had another considerable wait before they arrived. I'm hoping this was an off day and will try it again in light of more favourable reviews by others.

Jintana Thai – WindermereGreat,cosy restaurant with tasty lunches and dinners. Frequently changing menus and attention to detail, with an interesting wine list. Try the house red, a really good merlot . Friendly service, nothing too much trouble.
La Luna – KendalThey serve Thomas's meat & potato pie (judged to be the best in Furness by the "Hairy Bikers"). The pastry is always crisp because they don't microwave it. The bacon buns are good as well. They claim to sell the best coffee in town - could well be true! Often crowded or full, but worth a wait.
