Britannia Inn – AmblesideThis hotel is good value for food and accommodation and is situated on the main road near the pretty Newby Bridge.
Rusland Pool Hotel Restaurant and Bar – UlverstonWe dined as a group of 4 on a Saturday evening. We were welcomed at the door, and taken to our seats by a friendly gentleman. Who promptly offered us a drink. The food, service and ambience was wonderful definitely worth a visit.
Postilion Restaurant – WindermereThe Jumble Room is THE best restaurant in the Lake District, non of your pretentious food here, just honest to goodness real fresh food cooked with flair and a real love of flavours and so fresh, from the homemade beer battered fish and chips to the thai tiger prawns (which are to die for). A little gem hidden on a back street. often booked up ages in advance and kept a secret to those in the know. Andy and Chissy will look after you and I promise you will leave this place with great memories and a promise to return.
Jumble Room – GrasmereThe restaurant at the High Cross Inn is stunning it had the most superb views over the duddon valley and surrounding mountains. The menu offered a large range of meals to suit any taste with a special board with seasonal produce. The food was superb! We all had various items from the menu the service was fast with very pleasant waiting on staff. The bar is very traditional with a large open fire and they are pet friendly. In fact everything about the High Cross is warm and welcoming we look forward to our return.
High Cross Inn – Broughton-in-FurnessOne of those restaurants that must be experienced, food beyond the wildest imagination, textures and flavours that beggar belief. I have eaten in the countries "best of the best" over the last 25 years and l?nclume is by far the most outstanding food I have ever eaten. One of my foodie ambitions was to eat at El bulli in Spain (apparently the worlds best restaurant)...I cancelled my table reservation after my first meal at l`enclume and haven? eaten anywhere else since. Without a doubt 10/10 and has the potential to capture the magical 3 Michelin stars.
L’Enclume – CartmelAn essential refuelling stop after 'Go Ape!' at Grizedale! The no-nonsense menu of home-made pies/sandwiches/fish & chips/jackets is delicious and the portions VERY generous. The chocolate fudge cake is the best my friends ever tasted. The land lord was very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended.
Eagles Head – UlverstonThe best place ever for great food, great service, great people.
Akash Tandoori – WhitehavenOne of the best in Bowness and one of the busiest. Book at least one week in advance. Request a table downstairs, upstairs can be too noisy. A genuine Italian restaurant.
Villa Positano – WindermereWhat a find! Well kept, unusual guest beers. Outstanding house wine, also available by the glass. Locally sourced home cooked ingredients result in memorable meals. Friendly, welcoming owner/chef and bar staff. This won't be this cheap for long!
Bay Horse Inn – Kirkby StephenThe restaurant owner is very friendly. He just cares a lot about his customer. Everyone should try...........
Akash Tandoori – WhitehavenI've been going to the lakes for 5 years now and my first arrangement will always be to ring and book a table. Excellent quality genuine Thai food at good prices in a quaint property in Ambleside. The owners have created a good ambiance and enjoy excellent and well earned levels of trade. Recommend you book ahead to avoid disappointment
Doi Intanon Thai Restaurant – Amblesidereally tasty food
Castle House Hotel – Barrow-in-Furnessgreat food
Ambrose Hotel – Barrow-in-FurnessThis restaurant is a small family run business that provides the customer with top quality food. The range of dishes and the flavours... Mmmm... The staff are friendly and the service is timely. If you like proper Indian food and are in the area then you must try this.
Mithali Restaurant – Barrow-in-FurnessThe best Cantonese food around Windermere, have been loads of times and had a great meal everytime.
The Magic Wok – WindermereA gastronomic gem in a Georgian seaside setting. If your lucky to see the owners Ricky and Emma you?l know what makes this place buzz.
Zest Restaurant – Whitehavengood home cooked food from what appears to be a family business, the building is a bit in need of brightening up and seems a bit grubby and unkept also the biggest problem is all of the downstairs floor which is the only accessible part during the week is smoking and this becomes a bit much when you are surrounded by smokers other than that the food is not to be faulted, its well worth a visit.
