despite the fact that prices have just been put up, its still the best and most genuine Indian in Plymouth (possibly this side of Bristol...??!) excellent selection of PROPER indian dishes, always hard to choose even for a dedicated carnivore like myself. lunch menu is good too...!!

Fantastic quality produce, served by very friendly and knowledgeable staff - a great little find

Red Earth Deli – Kingsbridge

I cannot speak highly enough of this little gem. The quality of all their food, from the humble olive right through to their gourmet meals is second to none. Totally worth the visit, whether to simply pick up a sandwich or a dinner party life safer! Top tip- do not leave without having tried their Huancaina dip, we're all addicts. Worth the 200 mile drive for that alone!

I? eat here every day if I lived in Noss Mayo. Only thing is, no kids after 7, even if eating upstairs, but the food is consistently brilliant and the place has been done up with style

Ship Inn – Plymouth

This is a well-thought out deli, with interesting, well-sourced products on the shelves and a very enthusiastic, bubbly staff. It all feels very relaxed. The food is prepared from scratch and top quality. They have just set up their own professional kitchens so you can take some of their delicious meals away and pass them off as your own at home. Perfect! I would definitely go back for more.

Great hang out in centre of town to relax and have a bite... Superb unstuffy deli with friendly service and advice... What a find !!

A great deli run by enthusiastic and energetic owners clearly passionate about food. A great deli counter with strong Mediterranean and South American influences, with most of the produce made in the Red Earth kitchens. We loved the emphasis on buying local produce, the cheese counter was outstanding and the local Heron Valley apple juice is made only 5 miles from the shop. A relaxed and inclusive atmosphere made it a great place to stop for lunch. A gem.

My wife and I run a country B&B near Dartmouth. We regularly visit and monitor local restaurants, so that our guests are properly informed. Of the many guests staying here who have recently dined at the award winning New Angel in Dartmouth, those who have also dined at the Kings Arms have all confirmed that there is absolutely nothing to choose between the top quality of both restaurants, although the Kings Arms is considerably less expensive.

superb - makes every other restaurant in the area look very average.

The Salty Monk – Sidmouth
Simmone Jones

Fine local seafood in a great building. The Owner Simon Brown was so friendly and the rest of the staff made us so welcombe. The art is not all to my taste but makes for an interesting meal. Highly recommend this place for a stunning meal or just a quick bite and a beer in the bar overlooking the harbour. Take a look at teh pics on there website www.11thequay.co.uk

The Quay – Ilfracombe

I've visited here countless times and will continue to. Whatever you do - don't miss the carvery - it's the best in North Devon!

Williams Arms – Braunton

a really good meal, only next time i'd avoid the anglicised 'starters' and go for the pure japanese. my wasabi steak was excellent though, i even managed to eat it with chopsticks! great atmosphere, good value

Yukisan – Plymouth

we had an excellent meal, again, this time with kids and their grandparents. all enjoyed the food and no-one chose from the traditional menu. how authentic it's hard to say, but if you're bored of the usual indian this is the place to try. modern decor too

Cafe Indiya – Plymouth

This has to be the most exciting restaurant in Plymouth, the food is superb, fresh, flavourful and light, none of this thick heavy over MSGd kind of thing. Pure flavours, I had the seabass, it was stunning. I have been back since and tried the sashimi ans sushi as well as yakatori. Cannot fault it. well done. NB whenever I have been there has been a lot of Japanese eating here, that must say something.

Excellent service, very quick and friendly. Fresh hot food. Great live music in relaxed atmosphere- Tues night. Will go back!

Blues Bar and Grill – Plymouth

I have travelled around America extensively and this place is by far the most Amercian place I have encountered in the UK since the fall of TGIs. The food is such great quality and cheap when compared to other restaurants of this kind and the very friendly staff were only too happy to help with my fussy dietary requirements. When I make such demands, a restaurant rarely gets it right but Starz did. Their wine list is authentically amercian and top class. I will certainly return. The bar downstairs is classy and worth checking out too.
