Thai Orchid Restaurant

Intimate atmoshphere, delicious food and excellent service. I travel all over the country, but the Thai Orchid is without doubt my favourite restaurant. Not to be missed.

Thai Orchid Restaurant – Exeter

Hole In The Wall – Torquay
Coach & Horses Inn

Being a small pub meant the food and service was very fast and the food was exellent! The childrens room made it a lot easier when with the children. I recomended it for its nice atmosphere!

Jingles

Amazing! I was on a long weekend trip and had written to request menu's from many restaurants in the area...Jingles were one of the few who replied and boy, am I glad they did! I have never seen such an extensive menu of tasty and filling dishes. Although I was ideally looking for a romantic meal for two, this menu won myself and partner over and we are so glad we went for Jingles! It was the Cajun Chicken Gumbo that persuaded me (one of the nicest and most substantial starters I can remember) but it was my main course that inspired me to write in and sing their praises...Orleans Ostrich! 2 chargrilled ostrich steaks served on a bed of rosti potatoes in an orange Grand Marnier Creole sauce. The first time I 've had ostrich, and an orange-flavoured sauce as well, but I hope not the last, indeed I would drive another 300 miles just to eat it again! The Grand Marnier was a Grand Idea! My partner delighted at the fajitas and we were both impressed with the presentation...you'd have thought we were in an empty brasserie such was the fuss over our presentation, but the fact it was heaving, and it was only a Monday night only underlines how impressive this place is! To top it all, we had alligator strips with a garlic butter as a supplement, we were both in heaven! Add to this an impressive dessert menu, a TGI-esque range of cocktails and a vast amount of Tequilas to choose from, (all very well explained on the menu or by the helpful staff) and you've got yourself a grand dining venue. It looks like your average Mexican/American themed restaurant, and had they not sent the menu to us, we'd have walked right past it, but we're glad we didn't...it was the most memorable meal I've had in a long time. The atmosphere for a Monday was amazing, and clearly large parties are welcome, but I would recommend it to anyone regardless of who and how many people you are dining with...I'm just gutted I live so far away or I'd be back to work my way through the rest of that exciting menu!

Jingles – Torquay
Earl Of Portsmouth The

I ate loin of lamb stuffed with spinach and pistacio nuts, served with a rosemary gravy and it was stunning. The Chef/partner of this old Inn is a genius, lets hope that the media dont spot her and make her a star.

Earl Of Portsmouth The – Chulmleigh
Wah Tin

Highly Recommended, Gorgeous food especially the Crispy Beef. The first thing that srikes you is Antique decoration and furniture in the waiting area. It really gives the impression of a high class restaurant. The staff were friendly and gave the place a warm and relaxing atmosphere. Next to the Restaurant is moderate sized carpark so parking is ideal. I loved the food and the experience.

Wah Tin – Plymouth
Orestone Manor Hotel & Restaurant

The service and attention to detail makes this, in my opinion, the only place to dine if you want to really indulge. You must be prepared to splash out, but it is worth every penny!

Orestone Manor Hotel and Restaurant – Torquay
Terrace Tapas Bar, The

Bell Inn The

Many a time do i pop down to The Bell Inn @ Parkham. they serve wonderful food, the staff are all beautiful and friendly. The cook, makes the most scrumptious food i have ever tasted, and the setting and location of the pub is extremely picturesque. Inside you are greeted with friendly faces and an old style country pub. To top of the beauty of this place the pub serves local drink and freshly prepared meats from the locals. I would give this pub a grand 10/10. If you want a good, filling meal with great surroundings then go to the BELL INN PARKHAM :-) * * *

Bell Inn The – Bideford
Poopdeck, The

We are hooked on the Poop Deck - the food is incredible, always of very good quality. The seafood frittata is amazing!

Poopdeck – Brixham

Zizzi – Exeter
Thai Palace The

fresh tasting thai.cuisine. Fresh spices and herbs were gently infused to bring out the best flavour in thai cooking. Highly recommended

Thai Palace The – Plymouth
Red Barn

My favourite pub in England. The atmosphere is special, the views across the fabulous beach breathtaking and the food is excellent with big hearty portions. The only problem is getting in during peak periods, where waiting is often necessary for a seat. But the backdrop of surfing memorabilia certainly adds to the charm of the place, with classic 'boards from the 50's and 60's hanging from the ceiling. Expect to pay £7-£10 for a meal, with the sunday lunch (£6.50 Aug 03) being the best I've had.

Red Barn – Woolacombe
Start Bay Inn

lovely fresh fish and chips...very popular with locals
