We visit the China House weekly, it is such a cosy pub where we catch up with friends or just chill out. The food has always been good, particularly the Duck Salad and are standard pub prices. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful but as already said it is the wonderful building and location that are the real reason we go. You can sit out on the balcony overlooking the yachts or inside on colder evenings where you can cosy up in a corner or in a big chair by the fire. A lovely pub to go with friends when you are looking for a relaxing drink.

We have just come back from a fantastic dinner at Piermasters. Apparently there is a new head chef, and we can't wait to recommend the kitchen for the great menu selection and fabulous food. My partner had seafood for both courses and raved about the scallops and the sea bass. I am not a huge fish fan so I opted for the duck and was impressed by both the presentation and the lovely combination of tastes. We'll be back!

I heard that piermasters had changed there chef, my party and I haven't eaten there for about a year because the food had really started to go down hill, BUT on monday night decided to go in and try out the new chef's food, it was delightful, the scallops where fresh and the crispy vegetables set it off really well (need to learn how to do that), for mains I had the fillet steak with tiger prawns which was cooked perfectly. My friend had the duck which looked amazing. Then for dessert the vanilla creme brulee WOW the best ever. Thank you for a great night we will be back.

The food at the Millbrook Inn is very surprising for such a small pub. The restaurant standard food included Foie Gras, Lobster, Seat Trout and the most incredible puddings. They are keen to use very local produce - their salad comes from a little beach just around the corner. Very pleasantly surprised to find this little jewel in such a remote place.

Whenever we visited my mum in St Mary Church we booked into Memories. The food is amazing and freshly cooked and Hazel and the staff are so welcoming. I can not recommend this little gem of a Bistro highly enough-- it is a wonderful place with a great atmosphere.

We have just had a meal there and were surprised somewhat at the evening. Firstly one of the waitresses was less than helpful and was not willing to get us some extra ice or let our 4 year old share some the of the 2 pizzas we had ordered for the 2 11 year olds we had in our party, whic was 7 in total, as everyone has to order a main meal. Whilst we understand this we felt it a bit 'jobsworth' considering there 7 of us. 2 of our 6 starters were disappointing and were something we could have easily done better at home. The steaks were great, if not a bit overpriced, but the vegetables were bland. The lemon sole was very good however the chicken was poor and uninspiring and again is something we could have done much better at home. We did complain (about the chicken only) politely to the waitress, and eventually one of our party was asked to go to the kitchen to discuss the issue and was basically insulted by the chef and the waitress denied all knowledge of the complaint. All in all the food was good however the customer service was poor and the way the complaint was dealt with was very poor. The bill came to £200 and if the complaint had been better dealt with we would go back. We were not asking for any money off or anything else, but wanted to give some feedback which to be honest the chef and his ego did not want to hear. I would love to see him on Ramsays Kitchen Nightmares! The Smith family

Have been doing a price comparison of where it is cheapest to eat good food and fish and chips here are very reasonable

I have been here twice in the last year and it has been excellent. The food is certainly different to standard Indian restaurants and there is alot of choice. Pricing is very good and this is a popular restaurant. Very small point is that when very busy the service was a little slow but staff all very pleasant and polite and lovely atmosphere. We sat upstairs for a large party and it was brill

I had a meal at the White Hart on the 18 July, after reading up on the newly opened restaurant. The whole place is done out so nice and it has a really nice warm feeling. The wine list is very well balanced, then my party and I ordered food and from here onwards it was just dyer, the Steak was really over cooked, the chips where soggy, as for the Monkfish it was tasteless, mash was cold. All I can say is that how can you have such a good reputation for food when it is that bad. All is not lost as I have to say the staff where great. David

A really great Traditional Village Pub. The curved bar encourages visitors to speak to each other as we did - not many of these left. Really nice home cooked food, comfortable fire place area and several traditional pub games - crib, darts, boule, skittles, poker to pass a few hours. For children there is an outdoor play area. Lovely beer garden and also an outdoor covered dining area. Keeps good Ales and the wine list is interesting also.

Have eaten here twice and it is the best Indian meal we have had in a very long while. The decor is fabulous, the service excellent and the food is extremely tasty and good portions. I can totally recommended this dining experience.

Nibana Indian Restaurant – Plymouth

This is the best curry house in Exmouth, without a doubt. The staff are helpful and friendly, but, above all, the food is excellent. I have tried the other places in Exmouth for a good, hot Madras. None of them close to the Ganges. The meat is cooked well, not hard and dry, the Nan bread is fresh, the rice is sweet. This place is my favourite.

We have just eaten here. It was fantastic and all the staff were extremely friendly and very helpful when it came to discussing my food allergy. We would recommend this place to anyone.

The Terrace Tapas & Wine Bar – Ilfracombe
Hungery Man

i would only recommend to eat here if you don't feel hungry as the portions served are the meanest in the whole of the uk the excuse i was given for the tiny 16oz steak was because i asked for it to be well done it had shurnk so along with the 6 small chips and 3 tiny mushrooms 1 onion ring you leave very hungery when i told the waiter that this was only a snack . his responce was very good sir the chef is well known for his small portions.
