We book a meal for 3 for my birthday and was a fantastic night, the food was fresh and delicious cooked to perfection. The staff was very friendly and had a little chuckle with them Will definitely be going again.

After reading good reviews, we were really looking forward to eating here. Really disappointing. The prawns in the prawn cocktail were watery with no taste, the fish and chips were bland and the bread was dry. Found the restaurant to be very dated with a menu to match.

This was first meal out since the lockdown, the hotel felt very safe with lots of reasurring systems in place. We were a party of 4 and all of us were very happy with our main courses, fish and duck all well presented and tasted delicious. The desert was mixed bag. the sticky toffee pudding was good but the cheese and biscuits were terrible. We did ask where the cheese was from and were told it was from a cow! Should have avoided the cheese platter option at that point. The biscuits came in a cereal bowl with butter wrapped in foil and the cheese probably came from the local supermarket which was a pretty bad given there are some great local producers. This is a real shame as it would have made a good meal a great meal. Brixham has the feel of an up and coming place so the hotel may need to up it's game slightly to remain competitive

Myself and my husband went for a meal out to celebrate our belated anniversary. We don't get out very often as we have an autistic child so this quality time together was very special to us. We had a lovely view right by the window overlooking the harbour. Excellent service very efficient and beautifully cooked superb quality food . Didn't have to wait long in-between courses. Definitely recommend 100 percent. Absolutely beautiful xx

Menu downsized to cope with current situation, but plenty of choices. starters and main courses were all of good quality. We went for a starter each and six Tapas dishes. Only dish I thought a little pricey was the ham and cheese croquettes one more at least would look a lot better for the money. Food piping hot , no real wait times, staff very friendly and efficient. First time visit and will be going back. Be aware of the stairs if elderly or infirm.

We had high hopes but the food and ambience at Maritimo did not come up to scratch and we left feeling a bit disappointed. The decor needs a full upgrade ( couldn’t this have been done during lockdown?), the tables at the back of the room should be realigned so that you can see the view and the double glazing needs fixing so that it is not full of condensation. The food was ok, but nowhere near the delicious fare that we have had at other tapas restaurants. Just not authentic.

Managed to get a booking here 5 days in advance at a slightly later time than we'd normally go for, but considering we turned up half hour early, they were still able to seat us. The slightly limited menu had enough variety to warrant a second return at least, indeed the overall food quality was good with highlights being the chorizo and garlic cheese bread. If you can get a terrace table (£5 deposit required on booking I believe) it has a gorgeous view overlooking the bay beneath the how. We had a window seat, which considering the rain was a pleasurable alternative. Parasols were being put up as the rain fell for the outside punters. We will be returning with family in tow soon, already booked. Looking forward to it already! Location is the highlight, food very good also.

Had a great evening here with great food and friendly staff felt very safe as Covid restrictions adhered to in full. Only downfall is the lack of air con in restaurant it was unbearably hot and not even a window open or a ceiling fan felt so sorry for the staff who were dripping as they were so hot especially having to wear masks and visors!!!! Definitely need to consider air con in restaurant!!!!

We had dinner there for the second time. Just as good as the first. Lovely fresh, tasty food. Drinks gorgeous too. It’s nice to pop through to the Ernie Lister Bar next door too after dinner which is part of the hotel. Service great. Thank you.

We booked for the first time for a birthday celebration, forgetting that the government scheme for eating out was in its first week. We booked for 19.45 and after being sat promptly we were told there were few items out of stock due to the influx of guests that day. These items were quite prominent dishes for a tapas meal but however understood and are flexible. When ordering drinks there was only one spirit avaiable which was not suitable and again choices limited. The food we pretty much ordered atleast 1 of everything that was still available trying to work around the table of 5. We were told there would be a delay on the food coming out, now being in the industry in a previous life, again we were fine to go with the spanish mañana vibe for our service but a complimentary bread basket or olives to keep us company would have gone a long way to tame 5 very hangry people, as the food all came at 21.50. Chorizo, prawns and Hake were of quality as well as the potato products and sauces, which shows me that what we had was not the norm. The "Vegetable paella" was just golden rice which for the price was a bit tongue in cheek, but after mentioning this to the lovely but exhausted waitress she said that they had taken this off the bill, which was very courteous as all we had said is that id they cannot offer their usual standard they are better to remove this. Also the Calamari was over cooked/looked like it may have been the end of the bag due to the look. The waitresses we had mentioned they were inexperienced in what their role but were fantastic and a credit and will be flying high and taking in their stride soon I am sure. If we plan to come again we would try the afternoon hopefully to sample the full menu and more of a spanish chilled vibe which i could see that they normally would hopefully provide.

Food and service was amazing ! Would 100% recommend maritimo ! Which we have already to several people ! Food was lovely authentic Spanish tapas and sitting on the terrace was just lovely !

starter- goats cheese fritters, Main - fish & chips for myself , my wife had the sea bass. All dishes thoroughly enjoyed and well cooked Service was superb from pleasant friendly hosts. Recommended. Best meal of our 5 day stay.

Lovely meal once again ,one of our favourite restaurants in Plymouth .Always a nice experience,good service ,quality food ..left alone to enjoy the meal ..it’s good to be able to dine out again .

Nice food, really friendly staff,. However the Wait time was extremely long for food, no communication of the possible wait time and no thought to check on us during the hour wait. Lovely location

Food was hot all very tasty loads of Tapas to chose from always wanted to go here lovely setting on Plymouth Hoe as the sun goes down would definitely recommend this Restaurant staff were apologised as they were short staffed on the night which I thought was very considerate couldn’t fault it thanks for an enjoyable evening

Great food overlooking the sea, what more could you ask for? Greeted and asked to use hand sanitiser, then able to choose where we sat. We were on the wonderful balcony and away enpugh from others to feel relaxed. There is a limited menu but enough choice including for vegetarians. Good quality and tasty dishes, and the fizz went down very well too! Great value especially with 10% off
