Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamLovely 3 course meal, fish cakes to start, could have done with a little less sauce as it overpowered the flavour. Chicken Caesar Salad needed more sauce and Parmesan shavings instead of fine grated Parmesan Apple crumble with custard was delicious.
The Farmers Arms – DurhamFantastic value for money beautiful food friendly staff lovely atmosphere
The Farmers Arms – DurhamAmazing place to eat, friendly staff, quick service, food very tasty and hot. Even catered for our dog
The Farmers Arms – DurhamBeen here several times with my friends and it’s always a really good shout. Food is 10/10, atmosphere is cosy and calm, staff are friendly and can have some fun and really good banter. Pints are decently priced and portions are good
The Farmers Arms – DurhamRegular customers at the Farmhouse. Always fantastic food, great service and friendly staff. 10/10. Their happy hour is great value!
Farmhouse Dine & Wine – DurhamWe had a lovely meal at the Farmers Arms on 25th August evening, the food was all homemade and so tasty. We could not believe what good value it was for the quality. In particular one of the staff that served us was so lovely, she could not have been more helpful and pleasant. We even asked what the dressing was on the salads and she went to try and find out for us, such a lovely girl. We will definitely be back again, although not on a night that was as warm!
The Farmers Arms – DurhamI was celebrating 25 years of marriage with my husband and friends. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Would definitely book again. The only downside was the shortage of staff. We seemed to wait ages for drinks.
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonFood was lovely but each course we had to ask for cutlery. Table wasnt ready or laid for us and we had booked it week before. The waitress asked could she take our glasses away as she wanted to put dish washer on this was only 830. We were going to order more drinks but never offered. Its not as good as used to be .
The Farmers Arms – DurhamWe got a 2 course meal in with our spa package and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was beautiful, I had the risotto for my main and it was so tasty. It was the best risotto I've ever had and I had the brownie to finish which was delicious. All gluten free also which was no problem at all. Had a lovely time.
Hall Garth Hotel – DarlingtonMet several friends for lunch and all were extremely pleased with their meals. The service was excellent, friendly and efficient. The presentation of the dishes was great. Great value for money. To be recommended.
The Farmers Arms – DurhamFirstly why is nothing signposted on this site? Once we found were we were the staff were polite and showed us to our tables . From ordering to getting dinner took about 20/25 minutes. Drinks were served within a few minutes. I didn't think there was much of an atmosphere and I don't think the radio helped either. The food itself was good sized but my beef was a bit dry and as roast dinners were the only mains on offer I would have expected better It wasn't badly priced The surroundings are very nice but for some reason I wasn't that impressed with the insides of the castle. My kids thought the games rooms and cinema were poor. In their words a bit naff. Would I go back? Yes for food and the surroundings.
Witton Castle Country Park – Bishop AucklandA really lovely sunday dinner!!!
The Farmers Arms – DurhamExcellent surroundings, Meal Excellent, Staff Fantastic
Witton Castle Country Park – Bishop AucklandFood 10/10, service 4/10. Drinks prepare and serving 2/10. Drinks order took 20mins to get to our table and was wrong. Reordered one drink halfway through the main course, got delivered 2 drinks, one of which was wrong even if we had ordered 2. Also incorrectly charged for it, which was redacted after pointing out the error. Staff were impolite, no basic courtesy.
The Farmers Arms – DurhamExcellent service and food
