The Owl – LoughtonGreat food, great service. Will definitely recommend and be returning.
Grumpys Diner – SouthendVery warm welcome from the restaurant reception when we arrived. We were shown to a nice table in a very busy main restaurant area. Menu for breakfast had the usual choices ( nothing different from most cafe breakfast menus) 2 guests ordered the Barn breakfast (full English) 1 guest orderd Cacloe peppers eggs and salmon I ordered a round of white toast. Our drinks arrived very fast with a small waist for our breakfasts which was expected as the restaurant was very busy. The main restaurant area was very bright, spacious, clean and tidy. Unfortunately the 2 Barn breakfast were very disappointing ( bacon, black pudding & bubble disc were all very over cooked, dry and cold. Possibly from being left under a heat lamp or tray too long) One breakfast was missing its bubble. The salmon choice was nice with a good amount of smoked salmon. The 1 round of toast was fine (can't really go wrong. Delicious choice of Stokes condiments. Whilst we paid at the counter, we were asked if everything was OK. We gave an honest opinion and the girl just shrugged her shoulders to our constructive criticism. Over all 5/10 Not sure if we'd rush back for breakfast
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterWe have had many lunches at The Owl, it's ideally located for lovely walks in Epping Forest and has a small kids playground for the kids to burn off steam before or after lunch. Sunday lunches there are superb, served quickly and decent sized with great gravy, a marker of a good roast dinner. The kids portions are generous. Saturday menu is varied and really great too!
The Owl – LoughtonAmazing food and service, our first visit here and certainly won’t be our last. Sunday roast was the best I’ve had. A really nice country vibe pub and restaurant. Perfect.
The Dukes Head – Bishops StortfordAs always, great food, great service, great atmosphere. See you all again soon.
Grumpys Diner – SouthendVery happy with the warm welcome, good food and service we received at The Owl. Thank you.
The Owl – LoughtonWas so very disappointed with Sunday ĺunch after hearing such good vibes. We received a really warm welcome, service was excellent, a really lovely atmosphere created by friendly staff. So, all was good until the food arrived Had Rosemary beef however, no rosemary taste, food was warm not hot, carrots overboiled as soft, peas hard and roast potatoes like bricks. Staff sensed our disappointment and made every effort to appease. I can understand that these things do happen therefore, will return to hopefully enjoy a more satisfactory culinery experience.
The Ship Gidea Park – RomfordFood was absolutely amazing but we waited 50mins after being seated with a booked reservation for our food. That was the disappointment outside of a lovely food.
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterHad a fabulous meal at The Ship on Friday evening, first time trying the Winter menu. Service was excellent. Have already booked a Festive dinner there and thrilled our dog can come too!
The Ship Gidea Park – RomfordCame here on Saturday with some family and friends for a long overdue catch up. Table of 10 and we all had a fantastic time The food was a hit and tasted amazing. I had the owl burger, which was one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time and at a very reasonable price. Had our newborn with us too and they were very accomadation with a good location to store the pram out the way etc Staff, top tier the whole time we were there and very friendly. No complaints from all, definitely be coming back in the summer to enjoy the outside parts (which also look great)
The Owl – LoughtonMy first visit- pleasant venue, pleasant staff, nice table, not too noisy. Food was very nice and prices reasonable. However we waited half an hour for our order to be taken and a very long time for our food. No one took our plates away or offered desserts or coffee and we gave up on our plan to have desserts and just had coffees and left.
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterOur table was booked for 12.30 pm but our order was not taken for 40 minutes. However our food was delicious!
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterAmazing Breakfast. The best we have had in a long time. Great produce and fabulous customer service. Well worth a visit. We will be back.
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterThe staff are simply amazing at the Bakers Arms with food to match. Always challenging to make your selection from a mouth watering menu. Its so nice to be greeted and served by people who really do care about tour dining experience -5 stars
The Bakers Arms – IngatestoneHaving visited many times found the recent visit found the food and service very dissappointing not up to the usual standard
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterAs always, friendly & attentive service in a pleasant & comfortable environment. Food was mainly really delicious and presented nicely, and came at areasonable price. One of our party of four, had a bacon sandwich and felt the bacon was a bit too fatty and the white bread was very dry. Very rare to find anything to complain about though.
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterDavid and his staff have always been very helpful and friendly, the decor log burner and background music create a lovely atmosphere. Their menus are varied with quality food at reasonable prices, good selection of ales beer, wines also the Guinness is grand☘️
