Excellent service and food was amazing 2nd visit will be back soon.

We had a table of 7 (4 adults and 3 kids) at a 2pm weekday reservation. Unfortunately the pub was terribly understaffed and we waited 90 minutes until we got our food (40 mins waiting to get our order taken). The food was lovely - but by the time it came we were all starving, especially the children. We thought we’d order deserts but were then told the kitchen was closed when we finally finished our mains. Some warning might have helped as we could have ordered them sooner. Luckily the woman on the bar agreed to get some ice cream herself after I explained our situation. All in all, let down by the staffing and slow service.

We come regularly for breakfast and have to say the staff are polite helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is good and usually full which is a sign of its quality. Today 30th October we took friends and unfortunately my poached eggs (eggs Benedict) one arrived broken with the yolk mainly on the plate and the second was watery and undercooked. To be fair this is unusual and not typical but hopefully the comments will be read and checks made in future.,

Had a great meal here for my Nan's 80 something birthday. The staff were great and were very helpful. We had brought a cake for my Nan and the staff quickly took this from us so that it would remain a surprise, a brought it out with all the candles in as well as with a knife and plates for us to enjoy it in the pub. A great experience!

Excellent meal, food came quickly, hot and well cooked and presented. Good value for money. Good menu. The only things we didn't enjoy were the scary Halloween decorations, which I wouldn't have wanted my young grandchildren to see,and the large dog at the table next to us which put it's paws up on the table and licked plates which is not hygienic and bacteria from a dogs mouth aren't always killed in a dishwasher, which put me off my food a bit.

first time eating at the barn and the food was so nice. I thought at first it was a bit expensive but once we got the food we thought it was worth every penny. Lovely to have something that didn't contain chips. Will be back again

Delicious food, stunning pub, wish it was my local! Already highly recommending it to friends!

Great place to stop for lunch while having a walk through Epping Forest. Roasts were really good and staff were friendly and attentive. A couple of desserts were cold on the inside which was a little disappointing. But would highly recommend visiting. Warm, cozy, dog friendly and very welcoming.

Fabulous Sunday lunch, every thing cooked perfectly, great staff.

Roast dinner was ok but not as nice as usual. Didn't like lump of extra stuffing. Prefer the cubes of stuffing. Wanted 3 meat but could only have 2. Id go back but just wasn't nice as usual

Had a wonderful breakfast here on Friday 24 th October. Had scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on sourdough, which was absolutely delicious and arrived very promptly. Lovely atmosphere and staff

Food was great! Service was excellent! It has really cool quirk design with good music, highly recommend giving it a visit even if it’s just for drinks.

We had a lovely meal, the staff were very welcoming and the food was quick and delicious. My only wish was we’d gone a little later to sample the dinner menu 10/10

The only remark I want to do is that the menu on google search and on sugarvine website is not updated and unfortunately not only the options on the menu had changed but the prices when I got there were substantially higher. That put me off quite a bit I have to say. In relation to the food itself, it's simply the best comfort food, vegan or otherwise, I've ever had. The service was also great.

As always the Sunday Lunch was excellent and the service great! The atmosphere was bubbly and friendly. Fabulous, superbly run local pub.
