Reviews in Fylde Coast and Blackpool

I didn't go into the main hotel restaurant because my wife and I are not yet 75, apparently a condition for entrance. We did, however, eat several times in the bar during a recent stay. This was always pretty good in the past, but now that they have a new chef, it is really excellent and good value for a quick informal meal. Highly recommend the fish & chips and bangers & mash. Salads are good too.

The food was amazing, I definitely recommend the burger and the brownie pudding to share.

I cannot praise Jack's too highly - it is an excellent restaurant. Great food prepared by conscientious and enthusiastic chefs who, through a regularly changing menu, never cease in their efforts to provide customers with something fresh and exciting. It's small enough to feel intimate and is perfect for a romantic meal for two (or three, should that take your fancy!) but big enough to cope with groups or family bookings. There is always a good atmosphere, regardless of whether you're nipping in for the keenly priced early-diner, or making it more of an occasion and eating later on. When there's live music on, it is fantastic. No hassle, great food and a genuinely warm welcome from owner Keith Blackburn, who works bloody hard and fully deserves the plaudits bestowed on his business on this site. My job as a journalist has taken me to many of Fylde's restaurants and bistros over the years, some bad, some good (and very good) but Jack's is the best as far as I am concerned. These days, too many restaurants rest on their laurels and many others regularly serve up bland an overpriced dishes that bear too close a resemblance to what I would call pub-grub - (which is okay...but er, in a pub and at pub prices). Not at Jack's. It's not surprising that Keith can rely on customers to return time after time - they know they are guaranteed well-prepared and well-presented food, served in pleasant surroundings with a superb atmosphere, cracking wine list and friendly staff (special mention here for the excellent Martina, too). I don't throw praise around lightly and I'm not overly-keen on spending my hard-earned loot either, but in this case, I'm happy to do both. My only complaint was that the restaurant was not open on Sundays - but now he's even taken that gripe away from me as Jack's, I believe, now operates seven days a week... bugger. Regulars will probably not raise an eyebrow nor disagree with anything written here, but this is not for them. It's for those who have not yet been. Reading this site you would think BILL THE AIRPORT DRIVER was a major shareholder in the Pulcinella. We were recommended the Pulcinella by Bill the Airport Driver when he picked us up at Manchester Airport last week. We let our curiosity get the better of us and all we can say is WOW the best food ever. It was everything we were told to expect. It was a quiet evening no need to book lovely clean restaurant nice ambience. Menu was interesting the chicken livers were great. I had steak my wife had lamb they were both superb. Friendly staff who all know Bill the Airport Driver and yes he is a lovely chap and first rate driver and recommender of fine restaurants. We had never heard of the Pulcinella even though just 10 mins from our home. It will be a place we personally recommend ourselves from now on. Tried the rest in Cleveleys? Now try the best. The Pulcinella is very nice great food staff who are so friendly a great evening

We have been to the Sunam, many, many, many times since it first opened. We now go there regularly with our son, who loves the food just as much as we do. We have never found another Indian restaurant in the area that has come anywhere close to this one and have had excellent meals and service every single time. Go, you will not be disappointed! The portions are generous and the cost very reasonable.

Now then, a restaurant that is ya granny's cafe by day and a Thai restaurant by night is a strange and endearing concept. Having said that the food here is proper top-notch and fresh as a daisy (not on the menu) and if you are lucky you will get to sit down on the floor in the upstairs part Thai style. Admittedly I once sat on a well hidden prawn wanton from an early Mews reveller and it played havoc with the fibres on my Diesal jeans however it came out in the wash as the food is so fresh. Much recommended and take ya granny there too.. she might appreciate a change from a scone!! Bojo Boris x

Since the new management took over the quality of food has drastically improved. We live nearby and now visit regularly, the food is consistently excellent.

We love this restaurant. I have been a regular customer for over 21 years, going back to when they had restaurant in Lytham as well, and have never had anything less than excellent food here. We are regular visitors to the area, and always go for a meal at Fayez, infact we live on the east coast, and we have been known to drive the 150 miles or so just for a meal here. As a 60's and 70's enthusiast, I have to say I preferred the dark red fabric covered walls they used to have! I have eaten Indian food all over the world, including India, and I consider this restaurant the best I've tried anywhere. Highly recommended.

Still no Budweiser on draught even though I complain everytime I go but all I can say is a massive thank you to Alex Robbie Rialdo and everyone at the Pulcinella for a lovely evening 12 May. A very busy Saturday yet everything was perfect. You guys are the best see you 1st July for Gail and I wedding anniversary. Hoping Bud on draught will be available by then!!!!!!!!!!!

Both my girlfriend and I agree this is one of our favourite restaurants. The food and the service are always excellent. We always eat here whenever we visit Blackpool and it is a special place for us. I would definitely recommend it.

they do a nice cod & chips

I think that taste is a fantastic cafe to go to for your breakfast or lunch. It is very good food and good quality for money. I will definitely be returning to have my lunch. The service was also outstanding, the waitresses are very chatty and helpful. especially Leanne. Overall its great!!

since the changers it has come on in leaps and bounds. the staff are great and nothing is to good .i felt safe with my family not like the old belle vue of 18mths ago. The food was brilliant and we went in on Friday at 4pm and your can get great steaks for £3.00 each .what value ,its better than eating at home . so if you are in Blackpool go and visit here the best place in town.

I was recently picked up at Manchester Airport by Cleveleys Airport Services the driver name was Bill who I see has several reviews of the Pulcinella on this site and he recommended me the Pulcinella as simply "THE BEST" I have to agree the restaurant is beautiful food wonderful the staff pleasant and helpful. It is the finest I have had anywhere in the Fylde Coast and was well worth the time and money. Thank you Bill the Airport Driver for the recommendation and thank all at the Pulcinell for a wonderful evening my wife and I will be back asap.

On hearing a new chef had arrived at the Plough, I decided to go and try the food one Tuesday evening. The notice explained that everything is prepared fresh, therefore, I accepted in advance there would be a wait. The food arrived within 20 mins and was very very good. My son had chicken goujons from the children? menu - these were home made! My husbands burger was huge and chips home made. I asked for some tartare sauce when I ordered and when the food arrived, the waitress explained the chef had made it fresh. For the money we paid, the food was fantastic - restaurant quality.

I go all the time... Plus on a week day its half price :D definitely recommend it.
