La Fontana – BlackpoolVisiting our son on placement near Garstang and hoping to give him a square meal or two, we found ourselves at Pipers. We chose the set menu which was superb value and immediately after the starter were so impressed that we booked straight away for the following night! On both evenings the meals that we enjoyed were not only delicious, but made with carefully chosen fresh ingredients, skilfully executed and beautifully presented. Good wine too !
Pipers – GarstangMy husband and I went to The Mandarin after looking at their website. We were very happy with everything about it. The food was fab and lovely presented, it wasn't overpriced and the staff were very welcoming and pleasant especially Wayne. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and will definitely be going back. Thanks for a great evening Wayne and all staff.
Michael Wan’s Mandarin – BlackpoolHaving lived in Manchester, i have experienced the city's china town, where Chinese food thrives in abundance. There are many 'all you can eat buffets' for around £7, and that means literally, all you can eat, it really is fantastic, particularly after a few beers, in fact it is just over indulgence, plain and simple! For £7, it is by no means haute-cuisine; you get what you pay for, factory style produced food for the masses, cheap cuts of meat are used and everything tastes more or less the same, nut thats to be expected for a pittence i feel! There are however also restaurants in china town where you can have a 'proper' meal, you pay more but some of the food is so fresh and delicious (Pan-Asia i always find is definitely worth going to if you're in Manchester.) Perhaps then, i have been spoilt, as returning to Lytham, my experience at Chu's was shocking enough to drive me to broadcast it to the world here; to get straight to the point, food was not hot enough, whats the point in having beautiful authentic dishes if your filling them with sub-standard, warm food; it felt like drinking cheap warm lager from an elegant champagne flute .The sauces were incredibly dull, i would place good money on the fact that the sweet and sour sauce was out of a carton; fine if youre running a take away, but a so called oriental 'cuisine' establishment, shame on you; youre laziness will come back on you no doubt. I have often read reviews written by people and thought, 'shut up and stop moaning', now i am one of them, what a hypocrite, however, i feel we the customers pay good money and should therefore get a good experience, of this i feel strongly. Finally, the pieces of chicken were SO SO SALTY...what were the chefs doing to that chicken?put it in your mouth, gooey bland sauce, hard (not crunchy) chewy batter, and oh, salt salt salt, i felt down right embarrassed and didnt bother commenting when the waiter (who was wearing a headset by the way and consequently looked like he would be more suited conducting a fitness video for people about to have heart attacks having had to much of Chu's chicken) un-enthusiastically asked if everything was ok, oh yeah its great thanks.....this salty after taste was going to set me back forty five quid for me and my partner, needless to say the food got left. Im sorry Chu's but sort your food out and stop mis-leading the customer about authenticity, it wasn't authentic, it was just pointless durge. Will it survive? Thanks to the pimms drinkers of Lytham who will go to a place because of how it looks as opposed to how it tastes, sadly, probably, yes. Still, at least the portion sizes were scarce.
Chus – LythamExcellent! Recently stayed overnight on business and what a pleasant change to the usual chain hotels. Would recommend to anyone. Great food! Great choice of well kept real ales! Very comfortable room! All held together by welcoming and friendly staff. Superb!!
Cartford Inn – Great EcclestonOn a recent visit to Blackpool some friends I had the misfortune to try the ‘Bispham Kitchen’ for a meal. The staff were rude, service was poor, drinks glasses were dirty and as for the quality of the food, well many chips were looking back at me and there were several green chips so one has to questions food preparation. Friends who ordered different sized portions of the same meal were somewhat surprised to find little difference in the size of portions even though a significant price difference was made. We were obviously not the only ones disappointed as other patrons left leaving a significant portion of their meals untouched. Frankly this could have been cut straight from a Monty Python sketch, shame it wasn’t quite as funny for those involved.
Bispham Kitchen – Bisphamthis is not a good place to eat on looking at the front it looks clean , BUT ON ORDERING WE WERE SNARLED AT BY THE MANAGERES ,WHAT D YOU WANT !WE ORDERED PLAIN FISH AND CHIPS FOR ONE OF OUR PARTY AND PAID AN EXTRE £3.00 FOR SO CALLED JUMBO FISH AND CHIPS.WHEN IT EVENTUALLY ARRIVED IT ALL LOOKED THE SAME SIZE PORTIONS ,SMALL AT THAT BREAD WAS STALE GLASSES WERE DIRTY CHIPS WERE GREEN NOT A VERY NICE PLACE AT ALL STAFF ARE ALL POLISH MANAGERESS WAS REALY NASTY TO HER POLISH STAFF.MOST ALARMING THING WAS THAT THE MEALS SEEMED TO COME PAST THE TOILETS WHICH STANK TO HIGH HEAVEN !
Bispham Kitchen – BisphamI've visited the Great Fortune a few times both with friends and alone; which says something in itself! The menu, the food and the staff are excellent. The wine list is ok too and the pricing is just right with everything. I can certainly recommend the steamed Prawn and Pork balls for starters and the Spicy Peppered Beef for main is delicious. A must for all to try. A+
Great Fortune House – Thornton-Cleveleyswent too cleveleys today too see the shipwreck, got talking too somebody who recommended grannys on nutter road & went for lunch there. Real home cooked food, happy family atmosphere! clean & homely, would highly recommend a visit!
Grannys Coffee Shop – Thornton-CleveleysI have dined here on numerous occasions, and will be booking to eat here again for my sister's forthcoming birthday. For me, this is somewhere I like to take people for special occasions as it is a lovely restaurant with fantastic food. I have always come with a large group, and the staff were always polite and helpful; we were always made to feel very welcome. All in all, I couldn't recommend this restaurant highly enough!

Olive Tree Brasserie – St. Annes-On-SeaVisited this place after a promising write up in the Gazette - have to say I totally agree! No wonder the locals have kept it a secret for so long... The food was mouthwatering, service was dead friendly and top marks for value for money.
Paramount Chinese Restaurant – BlackpoolJust had lunch at the Castle gardens not eaten there since the revamp but it was a really nice atmosphere and I enjoyed my mixed grill, great portions and my wife enjoyed the fish and chips. Will be going back as see they have a special on sunday lunch
