Booked a table for a birthday meal for my husband . Service very friendly and attentive . Food delicious and a wonderful atmosphere . Took our dog along too and he was made very welcome !

We dined on Saturday the 18th October and we both really had a great meal . The staff were on the ball and very pleasant to deal with it was very busy and a good atmosphere in the restaurant. I got talking to the chef at the back of the restaurant over 2 nights we were there a very nice man he gave me some good cooking tips . I told him we dined at forest side on the Friday had a great meal there but if I am honest both me and my wife like the bistro better says it all really .

Booked late afternoon online for a table the same evening. Lovely food, great staff, really enjoyed our evening. Would definitely return the next time we are in Grasmere

Second time we have eaten here and really struggle to understand why it isn't full all the time. Very varied menu and quality and cist are impeccable. Maybe people don't like food done well and just want mass produced. If you want good food go here.

Absolutely fantastic food! We have eaten here many times and always had lovely food with a fabulous service and with a great atmosphere. I am coeliac and I have always had a good menu selection and never any problems.

Poor service really let Lewis’ down on our visit. We had a long (around 45 mins) wait between our starter and main, whilst other tables were served around us. Assume there was an error somewhere but nothing was communicated with us, servers avoided our table and it was almost impossible to catch their attention for more drinks etc. The visit was for my husbands birthday, so it was a huge disappointment to have a poor experience

Our second time at the restaurant whilst staying in Grasmere, the atmosphere is calm and relaxing and the food was divine, the staff are attentive and the overall experience is a pleasure, would definitely look to book again when staying in Grasmere as this is a treat to look forward to.

Lovely restaurant with nice but relaxed atmosphere. Excellent food. The scallops, lamb and cheeseboard were particularly good and the service just right. Would definitely return.

My wife and myself had another enjoyable evening at Lewis's Bistro during our recent stay in Grasmere, having visited the restaurant earlier in the year. Delicious fresh, home cooked food in a pleasant and relaxed environment with a friendly and welcoming host and staff . We hope to return to the Lake District early next year and look forward to paying another visit. Advise booking early if dining on Friday or Saturday.

Their staff are fabulous and go out of their way to ensure all your needs are catered for. An absolute must if you fined yourself staying in Grasmere. You cannot leave without trying for yourself.
