We booked Max's for 6pm to have the Theatre Menu before an evening performance at the Mayflower at 7.30pm. We decided to have a main course and a desert. Unfortunately the main course took 50 minutes to arrive which meant we did not have enough time to have a desert. From 20 minutes after we had ordered we were continually told the meal would be with us in a few minutes. Although the food was good when it arrived and the staff were apologetic it was not the relaxing start to the evening we had hoped for.

Just moved to Lymington and after all the upheaval decided to treat our selves to Sunday lunch at The Chequers, and what a treat it was. Such a lovely pub with friendly staff and superb food. Good value too. My wife is a coeliac and so has to follow a GF diet and this was no problem at all. We enjoyed it so much we spent a very pleasant afternoon in the lovely sunny garden. I shall try and make this a regular visit as it’s only 12 minutes walk away. So glad we found it.

Good food, good service, good atmoshere, and good music, a great place

4 of us enjoyed a delicious Meal from the Deli menu at lunch time on Thursday. The staff wee very helpful and accommodating , to our wheelchair user. Would certainly recommend the Half Moon as a venue and quality food.

Visited yesterday prior to matinee at Mayflower Theatre. This was our 3rd visit to Max's, and our waiter welcomed us back, we were impressed that he remembered us! Food was delicious as usual, and the waiter was prompt with our food and beverages. We will be back soon Thank you

Fantastic food, great service! Highly recommending seafood dishes and tiramisu.

Plenty of variations of food, hardly any vegan options, chips were rubbery and pasta just tasted like water. You need yo cater for vegans too.

We enjoyed Sunday lunch yesterday. First time we have been to the pub. but would go again if we were in the area. The helpings were generous and we especally enjoyed the puddings. We wanted to say special thanks to Abby who coped with a full conservartory and bar on her own. She kept smilling and calm throught our time there serving ithe food and drinks Every one had arrived at 12.00 so that made it extra busy.

Really good food and fast, professional service!

lovely food good service, only small thing and personal to myself would of loved some stuffing balls and a choice of cabbage as im not a red cabbage fan but everything was delicious we will be back.

Very disappointed went for my friends birthday Sunday evening table booked for 7.30 when we got there some of the food trays wad already emptied and not topped up at all throughout the evening so limited food offered they said you get an hour and a half but there was hardly any deserts when we got there and after having main food went to desert counter before the end of out time and the staff had cleared everything away so didn't get any deserts shame as we book regularly as a group but not sure we will go again

Food was cold and tasteless and service areas dirty.Very low quality for what was charged and will not go back or recommend to others.Drinks majorly overpriced and again glassware dirty Was a birthday celebration which was ruined and left after one plate of food having left the majority of it

Been here a few times for a family meal now and found it ideal. Nothing fancy but that’s fine in our book for a pub - very good traditional food (eg enjoyed the liver & bacon) nice service just about right and plenty of space. Big well kept garden for the nice weather. We’ll use again.
