Great pre theatre meal, really good value and excellent service from the waiter upstairs
The Quarter Lounge – SouthamptonFood and service were great. Only disappointment was a very long wait for dessert
The Quarter Lounge – SouthamptonAmazing place to eat. We were running late as stuck in traffic called ahead expecting to cancel our reservation but asked if I would them to hold the table, which pleased my daughter. Obviously this was a mid week booking might have been different if it was a weekend, nevertheless was very much appreciated. Food to brilliant and delicious and service was top notch. This is the 2nd visit here and would recommend to anyone wanting good food especially if your heading to the Mayflower afterwards.
The Quarter Lounge – SouthamptonFood was great, and the margherita pizza was amazing. Definitely the best one I’ve tasted in ages. Staff were really on hand, and the soundtrack to the musical we were going to was playing in the background so this establishment knows it stuff! Really great atmosphere, and we will be back.
The Quarter Lounge – SouthamptonWe were very pleased with our dinner here as new to the area - there was a pleasant buzz on a Friday night and a nice reserved table waiting for us as it was a little windy to eat outside We chose fresh Moules as a starter which were tasty and tender served in a creamy sauce followed by fish pie , one of the specials for the day with fresh veg on the side Service was friendly and helpful Thankyou
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonCan I suggest you change your booking system online Booked a table last Sunday as tables showing available. Then got the confirmation email - turned up Sunday evening after getting a taxi down and there was no knowledge of the booking and food had finished The response was also that they don’t see the bookings in the day which isn’t helpful and shouldn’t have an online system in that case
The Platform Tavern – SouthamptonHad a lovely catch up with some visiting out of country friends over a tasty pub meal and drinks. I chose the Platform Tavern not only because of the reviews about the food and staff, but for the ambience of a traditional pub with an updated local flare. The fish and chips were awesome and the chorizo and lamb koftas tapas were tasty. The seafood tapas a bit less so (our only very slight disappointment) Super service from our friendly, attentive waiter made for a great evening.
The Platform Tavern – SouthamptonBooked a table here on a Saturday during the music festival. It was busy but we managed to eat inside as the weather was bad. We bought our friends who were staying fir the weekend and they loved it. Service was good (I ordered at the bar as it was busy) the food was delicious and there were clean plates all round. We were so relaxed that we didn’t end up seeing much of the music so it was just a charity donation in the end.. they did so well on a busy night would definitely return.
The Half Moon – PetersfieldFantastic food - tasty, well-priced, and good portions - great service, good selection of drinks, and very enjoyable live music. Nothing not to like! My partner and I are regulars here and I often take friends visiting Southampton here as well.
The Platform Tavern – SouthamptonA very friendly pub staff always friendly & helpful, we had a good Sunday lunch & really enjoyed listening to Steve on the guitar fantastic! Great Atmosphere!
The Platform Tavern – SouthamptonWas taken here for the first time for a birthday lunch pre booked . Very warm welcome , as we were early had a choice of where sit, drinks order taken very quickly , food choice was superb and small adjustment was made to one dish to cater for an elderly member of the group . Food arrived hot and didn’t disappoint. Portion size was bang on although as a small eater felt awful leaving such nice food . 2 of the group had desserts and they said how nice they were. Was wished a happy birthday by two members of staff and upon leaving . Would highly recommend and will be returning
The Half Moon – PetersfieldFantastic meal as always, great atmosphere and music. Absolutely love it here.
The Platform Tavern – SouthamptonWe had a Sunday roast and it was fantastic. I had beef and my wife chicken. We both could not fault the food in anyway, good quick service and excellent ales. I just needed a hammock to go to sleep in afterwards for a nap before the music began, but you can’t have everything?
The Platform Tavern – SouthamptonPre theatre meal booked for 4. Quite a small place with tables close together, which wasn't great when you're next to a noisy group (not the restaurant's fault). Atmosphere felt a bit hectic and short staffed. Food was really good though, carbonara, fish and chips, burger and mac and cheese, all delicious. Staff very friendly.
The Quarter Lounge – SouthamptonHaving moved to the area recently we had been recommended the Chequers. We tried it yesterday and were not disappointed. We will be eating there again.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonBooked a table for dinner for 2 on a Tuesday evening. Situated just up the road from the Mayflower Theatre it's in an Ideal position for a pre-theatre meal. My lasagne bore a few marks that it had been cooked a couple of times but it was still plentiful and enjoyable. My wife's carbonara looked delicious and tasted likewise. There were plenty of empty tables, service was fairly quick. There is no adjoining parking. Price was inexpensive.
The Quarter Lounge – SouthamptonReally nice pub, traditional pub food cooked really well. I would recommend the chicken in mushroom and stilton sauce as well as the homemade soup. Very friendly staff. Good beers and soft drink selection.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonFriendly welcome, great service and food. Huge portions! We love the inside of the pub and there is a pretty garden. We always look forward to coming here.
