Well we went but didn’t get to eat. Got told they had a power cut and they’d had it for some time and didn’t know when it would come back on. So traveled all that way for nothing. They could of phoned to let people know. Not impressed

The Beehive – Houghton-le-SpringThis is a regular place for me to eat. Mid week and Sunday lunch. I have never been disappointed with either the food or the service. It's a relaxing, comfortable pub whether you're wanting a drink on your own or with friends. Food has always been wonderful with generous portions.
The Copt Hill Inn – Houghton-le-SpringFood was very good we had Sunday lunch . We went for the beef. If I have any thing to complaints the Yorkshire puddings were a little over cooked and were dry. The ice cream with the sticky toffee pudding was to small portion and had to ask for extra to finish pudding. Good value for money!

Presentation of all meals is very good and the staff are really nice. Puddings were great too. Restaurant is very comfy and not too cramped as is the case with some. Will definitely go back. .
The Copt Hill Inn – Houghton-le-SpringI saw the food on Facebook and had to try. Very busy, slight wait, but food was amazing. I never admit defeat on food but had to get a box to take home as portions are huge. Definitely be back.My choice was 'The Geordie Parmo ', and it didn't disappoint.
The Beehive – Houghton-le-SpringThis was our first visit to the Beehive. My wife and myself called for lunch and had a very enjoyable meal with good wine. The service was excellent and the serving staff were very friendly and well on top of their game. The food was also excellent, delicious and well presented. A good varied menu, we will certainly be calling again.
