Kirkby Lonsdale is a historic market town located on the border between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales on the River Lune. Famous for it's Devils Bridge - a regular meeting place for motorcyclists and it's Victorian Fair held every September. There are many dining options including pubs, tearooms and hotels.
Excellent Sunday lunch. We booked for 2.15pm but the roast beef had sold out so we had roast pork which was delicious. Great with our dog ! It was a very cold day and we were a little chilly at our table. Would have been better with the little electric fire stove had been on.

Started off with two very agreeable negronis and followed up with starters and mains, then finished off with coffee. The atmosphere was great, busy but not overly noisy. The service was very good, and although I wish I opted for a different main course (the burger wasn't really to my taste), everything was top notch and the bill surprisingly reasonable for such a nice place to eat. It would have been nice to see some specials or a slightly wider (or updated) menu, but what they do, they do really well. Highly recommended.

Although the dining room was extremely busy the table was set and prepared for the pre-booked time. As soon as we were seated a waitress presented and explained to us the various lunch menus with a request if anyone would like any pre-lunch drinks We were given ample time to choose the options available and orders were given for starters, main courses and selected wines The quality of all the food choices was more than our expectations considering the pressure the kitchen staff must have been under and I have no hesitation in recommending this establishment to others We will be back in the near future to once again enjoy the excellent food and drink

Each dish was lovely, well-presented and beautifully cooked. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were both very impressed and will return for our next special occasion.

Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleMy partner and I visited on NYE, I have been once before for lunch about 3 years ago and I can honestly say we will 100% be returning. The steak was incredible - I had the risotto which was slightly too heavy (too much cheese?) and huge portion but that’s just my personal opinion. It tasted amazing I just couldn’t finish. The staff I couldn’t fault one bit, all completely well mannered and knew the answer to any question we asked and if my slight chance they didn’t, it wasn’t too much work for them to find out. We had a game of pool in the pool room too which is an amazing touch to the place! Thank you so much we had a great night and will definitely be back soon!!
