Arrived and staff unable to find booking but quickly sorted and taken to our table. The venue is stunning and I imagine even more so in the evening and at night. Waitress was lovely and took our drinks order and brought a bowl of water for our dog. Waited 15mins to order food and food came out quickly thereafter. Unfortunately the food let the service and location down. The Childrens fish fingers, chips and baked beans came without beans but had been replaced with peas. We had to get the attention of staff for this to be rectified. We mentioned that the menu stated baked beans not peas and the waitress said she’d get some more, this was quickly rectified. I had ordered the chicken and bacon Caesar salad. I was surprised to find onions, peppers and mixed green leaves with very little chicken and bacon. No tomatoes or Parmesan. It tasted lovely but not a Caesar salad. My partner had ordered the chicken burger and we noticed his side salad was the same as my salad. Again the beef tomato was a very thin half a slice but he wasn’t fussed has he hates tomatoes. He said it tasted fine but was very standard for the price. We ordered some more drinks and a different waitress brought the drinks over asking if we had ordered “a lemonade or something”. Maybe a little extra training in professionalism and customer service. Our waitress came back and showed us to a table outside the tipi to finish our drinks. All in all gorgeous location, staff were attentive and beautiful venue but the food let it down.

Lovely meal and great location. However, wasn't informed that we only had a 2h slot so meal was rushed as service quite slow.

An upbeat atmosphere and wonderful staff .

I have been a frequent customer since Water Witch reopened after lockdown. Their service is fantastic, quick and smooth. Very polite and helpful staff, great food and excellent ales. This is definitely my go-to place for the views but the customer service as well. The team at Water Witch have done a brilliant job adapting fast to the new guidelines and each time I have been, I have had a great time!

The scallops were excellent, brilliant service and friendly staff, I will highly recommend this venue, a refreshing change for Darwen.

Excellent few hours at The Dog Inn. Good beers and food and the atmosphere for was lovely. The outdoor restaurant set up was just what was needed and there was enough room for quite a few tables.

Lovely little place in Darwen Town Centre, booking process was simple and we attended on time and were seated straight away. The courtyard area does not feel like Darwen Town Centre at all. Staff were so friendly and helpful, the food was really nice and the cocktails were delicious. Felt very safe with the covid guidelines and would definitely come back here again and recommend to friends and family.

Staff were amazing, friendly and very welcoming. Service was fast and food was brilliant. Will be returning.

Visited The Waterwitch for drinks on Saturday afternoon. The service was brilliant. Very friendly and attentive staff at all times. Would definitely recommend.

We had an enjoyable evening at the Lodge, the quality of the food was good and the staff pleasant. Unfortunately, we had booked a table for 7pm and our table was still occupied at 7:45 after assurances that we would be seated for our meal, when our food arrived our table was still occupied by the previous customers. We had to inform the occupants of our table ourselves and they eventually moved on. It was shame we had to do this and the situation could have been much better handled by the manager in charge. Despite that the rest of the evening was pleasant..

First meal out since lockdown for me and my husband. We both had the Cajun chicken burger and fries and it was amazing. Drinks wise not much choice of beers for husband as he likes dark ales and I asked for non alcohol cider and was told that it was sold out. Not a big deal and sure more choice will come in time. During the meal nobody came to check if the food was ok or if we wanted more drinks which they do at most other places. Whilst leaving we said thank you to the two staff at the bar but only one acknowledged and replied . Again not a big deal but to sum up food excellent but customer service wise room for improvement but it is early days.

Stayed in the lodge over the weekend and went for lunch yesterday. Staff were great, so attentive and friendly. Food was super tasty, would definitely visit again.
