Really friendly staff and a great menu with lots of interesting items. The chips are the best I've ever had. Worth trying them with a flavour on - I had sweet chilli - really tasty. I know they do fish in different ways too, you can even get gluten free batter. Make sure you visit!

I've been eating here for about 4/5 years now and I've never been disappointed - I must have eaten about every vegetarian dish on the menu and they have always been brilliant! The staff are always friendly and welcoming as well.

Really friendly staff here at the Castle Chippy and a good range on the menu. The chips are the best I have ever had. Try the chips with one of their flavours - I had mine with sweet chili sauce - delicious. They also do batter for gluten-free diet. Well worth a visit.

We stayed at Stanley House on a Gourmet Nights break just recently and I cannot fault it. We arrived at 3pm to check in, where we had afternoon tea. I was very surprised at the prices being very reasonable for the daytime menu. I ordered full afternoon tea and my husband ordered fleetwood smoked salmon finger sandwiches. My afternoon tea came with, smoked salmon finger sandwiches also, as well as cream cheese and cucumber sandwiches. both came with a small dish of crisps and side salad. My afternoon tea was also accompanied by 4 cakes. 1 chocolate mousse cake, 1 scone with jam and cream, 1 profiterole and finally a piped mirangue swan. It was all really really good. We booked our table for 8:30pm We had been booked in for the 7 course tasting menu. Menu was: Amuse Bouche - Salmon Veloute with quails egg Pre Starter - Roasted Snails, ceps and parsley Starter - Scallops, squash risotto, trumpets of death, parmesan crisps Main - Duck, bread mousse, blackberry and armagnac jus Cheese Course - 8 different tastes of cheese Pre Dessert - Pina Colada Panna Cotta, Mango soup Dessert - Walnut, nougat and toffee pears. The waiter service was absolutely fantastic. He was gracious, reminded you of your course, and was also funny (in a good way) I tried a little of each cheese, but I apologised when he came to collect the plates for not eating it all, he said ' not to worry the cheese clean up team in the kitchen will take care of it, madam' All in all the service and hospitality was second to none. You think it was fine dining, I would say Michelin Star would be closer to the mark. The presentation of the food was outstanding, every dish was identical. We will definitely be returning to sample their Cassis a la carte menu and Mr Freds daytime Fayre. Stanley House is Sublime. Book a Table today!

We have visited the eagle at barrow about 6 months ago and we were very pleased with all aspects of the brasserie and pub style services provided, however we visited again today and unfortunately the service has slipped somewhat. We had to go get our own menu, we were not told of any specials available, we were not told what the soup was ( some people may think that this is not too bad) however it took them 35 minutes to take our order, after getting our own menus. We ordered, steak burger. Which came with Chat potatoes (fried cubes to you and me)? Way under cooked onion rings. V greasy. No side salad. Burger on a bun. I may just be being picky, but I was not asked how I would like my burger cooked...luckily I like mine medium, but others who ordered around us did not, after all it is a steak burger. A few people at a table were swapping theirs round to the ones best suited to them. I would have liked just a tiny few leaves to go with my burger. My husband, ordered Ploughmans salad....he had to go and get his own bread.... when it arrived. It was like a small petit pan baguette, not nearly enough to cope with a full ploughmans lunch. After lunch...which was quite tasty after all the too-ing and fro-ing. I had to ask for menus again to look at dessert. We weren’t offered them. After choosing what I wanted.....20 mins later, we decided to leave. I couldn't wait any longer again to be served. I left with my sweet tooth unsatisfied.... We have had very good service in the past...I think the area we sat in...generally was untended to. I think if you sat in the centre of the pub, or by the window. Service would have been very good. There was hardly any light...I struggled to see the menu. I had read a review about this before where a lady felt obliged to request a miners helmet...she was not mistaken. I feel like the eagle deserves a 3rd chance from us, so we will re visit, however I hope a manager is reading this and taking note of the things I have mentioned. After all, my money stayed in my pocket today, but potentially could have been in theirs. There were two hungry customers who wanted to have dessert and plenty more drinks but sadly we left after lunch and one drink. Just remember first impressions count...its all about continued custom, it the next sale you need to think of, not the one that you have already got.

This restaurant is trading on past times. The food is awful and I question how it is stored as I had food poisoning following some tinned tuna. A friend was also ill following a meal including tuna in the same week. Other people have also complained of stomach upsets following a meal there. The atmosphere may be good but they need to pull their socks up with the food!! Would not go back!

I can only comment about the take-away side of the business.... but what I can say, is that it was FANTASTIC - beautiful, well cooked food, well seasoned, lovely and hot............ not just your usual indian takeaway rubbish of "same old sauce, with a bit of this and that added to it".................... Great food, highly recommended

Came across this place on my way back to Scotland, an outstanding piece of cod with a lovely fresh crispy batter. Massive portion of chips.

"Horrible experience" This Chinese was very noisy like eating in a nightclub! (and im only 22!) Food was extremely poor, ribs were fatty, prawn toast was tough, Bamboo chicken too chewy , Seabass was flavourless, Beef also very chewy and the coffee was cold! Should have travelled little bit further to Northcote Manor! Disappointing to say the least.

Having eaten here tonight, we left feeling slightly disappointed as we found the restaurant to be very average, the service was quick but the food was nothing special. Having been to many others, we feel that you do not get what you pay for here. On arrival, we were made to feel welcome, shame this wasn't the case on leaving, the staff/management were far too distracted with personal conversation whilst taking payment to even offer a "thank you" we won't be returning.

We travel here from Blackpool, because it is just amazing.we have never been to a nicer, cheaper italian.food is lovely, drinks are a bit more expensive but the cheap food and generous portions make up for that.Love this place and we just keep coming back!

This restaurant is FABULOUS!!! The ingredients are locally sourced and are prepared by an exceptional chef (especially the pies!!!) and the menu caters for all tastes. They also have an extensive Specials board which has plenty mouthwatering dishes to tempt you. My family and I have eaten here on several occasions now and it seems to get better every time. Highly recommended and a must to visit if you are in the area.

We've been coming to Sukhi's for over 5 years and eat here at least once a week and very often twice, usually on a Saturday and mid-week. Over this time, between us we must have had just about every dish on the menu and never been disappointed. What's more, if you want to vary a dish or fancy something that you can't see on the menu, the chef will always cook it to suit your taste - making it an endless choice! The staff are very friendly, efficient and nothing is too much trouble to them. I've recommended Sukhi's to lots of people and they all agree that it's a great place to eat.
