The Willows – BlackburnI had a lovely meal at the NICE restaurant with a colleague. The risotto was to die for! Would definitely recommend to others.
Nice Bar and Restaurant – LancasterRubbish
Porcinis – PrestonExcellent food and service.good value for money.
Myerscough Hotel – Blackburngood food
Red Lion At Mawdesley – OrmskirkIf you want to try something a bit different this is the place for you. The Eastern European food is very good (have tried a couple of the dishes and they are excellent), the cakes are fabulous and not something you will normally come across. I can recommend the Polish baked cheesecake! There is a good selection of fruit juices and the biggest tea menu you will probably ever see. Its a very relaxing place and the service is excellent.
Mystery Tea House – PrestonAttempted to eat at the Golden Lion today (21/08/11) but after waiting 35 minutes with no starters arriving (after being told the wait was 20 mins) my girlfriend and I had to cancel our order as I had to get to work. As a restaurant manager I cannot understand how it could take so long when there were less than 20 people dining at that time. Furthermore, when inquiring as to how long our food would be I was attended to by a rather blunt barman and received only a token apology from the older lady serving behind the bar. I could have forgiven the wait as just being 'one of those things' if the customer service had been up to scratch but I was made to feel as if everything mention was my fault and if I found my staff dealing with customers in such a way I would be infuriated! If I thought this review would be published I would go into more detail, however as I recall sugarvine does not publish negative reviews (utterly ridiculous) I will leave it at "won't be returning and will never recommend".
The Golden Lion Hotel – ChorleyME AND MY HUSBAND(and dog TEX) first visited the Dalton Arms last year.We sat outside as the weather was glorious. We had a meal of prawn salads, and then fish and chips, they were so delicious,we hadn't room for any desserts. We came again this year,14th June, again we sat outside,we had company with us,my daughter Angela, and my 3 grandchildren,my son's partner and 2 dogs.Once again,we enjoyed our meals. Will be visiting your pub between September 2nd to 11th September this year, and once again we know we will enjoy our meals.thank you
Dalton Arms – LancasterNot long opened, but this place will take some beating - its already by far my favourite Indian. The food is fresh, delicious and well presented. You can taste the fresh ingredients that are lacking at other indian's and the nan breads are just the best. The service is also spot on - attentive yet not intrusive. I have tried many if not all the Indian restaurants in the area and will now not go anywhere else. The decor is also a treat, modern and stylish, even the toilets are luxurious. Well done to the Naga for creating such an enjoyable experience for a meal out. Can't wait to go again.
Naga – Chorleybest Chinese in the world salt n pepper chicken wings !!! wowow yum yum yeah baby
First visit for hubby’s birthday, found 3 fishes on internet, he loved his meal. I had the cheese pie ( being a veggie) very nice but the cheese was a bit too salty for my liking shame, but would go again and would recommend.
The Three Fishes – Clitheroethis is simply the best food I have ever eaten. Service is outstanding and I cannot wait to return sometime soon.
Amelies – ChorleyWe visited the Double Tree the other night, and i must say in all the years i have been to Indian cuisine's in the country, Double Tree is most certainly up there as the best i have been to. Tremendous food with a variety to choose from, not like typical Indian cuisines i have been to. The restaurant is immaculate with modern decor, very well presented and extremely polite and courteous staff. Double tree is certainly the place to be.
Double Tree Indian Restaurant – PrestonThis is the worst chinese food I have ever tasted in my life. The service was no better and the restaurant itself looked shabby.
Stayed overnight after a wedding in another local hotel Very comfortable, provided everything we needed.and made us most welcome.
Windmill Hotel – Blackburni would recommend anyone trying this restaurant , the people who run it and the owner , put you first , my fiance at the time , had a meeting with the owner , and they arranged flowers , wine on ice , chocolates , and a big red heart balloon , all for me , as my now husband now , got down on one knee , and proposed to me , thumbs up to north street for their help , and service with that xxx
North Street Indian Restaurant – RawtenstallWe had heard some very good reviews about this restaurant and decided to give it a try and visited on Thursday tea time at 5.30pm. The restaurant is quite tastefully decorated. We were the only two diners and were shown to our table and given menus. Our starter was the Banquet starter for 2 which consisted of 2 meat samosas, 2 chunks of tandoori chicken and lamb, 2 onion bhajis and some sliced garlic mushrooms with a fried chapatti. The starter was quite tasty but I found the samosa to be quite greasy and didn't try the chapatti as that was also greasy. For mains I chose Exotic Balti which consisted of chicken, lamb and prawns in a Balti sauce. DH ordered a chicken dish (the name escapes me) but it arrived a very vivid orange/red colour containing peppers. He said it was very sweet. We also shared an onion rice side dish which was very tasty but only a small portion for the £3.20 price tag! My Balti had slices of chicken and lamb and ONE king prawn – very mean I thought – and the sauce was not as good as I had anticipated, and I have had many Balti dishes. We had one bottle of King Fisher and one large lime and soda and the bill came to £40.35. I queried the charge of the lime and soda and was shocked to find it was £3.50!! Not impressed! Service was good and so it should have been with only us to wait on, but there were two other couples by the time we left. A nice touch however, was the rose, after eights and hot towel and oranges at the end of the meal. I have to say I was very much looking forward to this meal but left feeling quite disappointed .
Double Tree Indian Restaurant – PrestonMy wife and i visited la Vespa on Sunday the 7th of august 2011, the food was excellent and the service was excellent too, i'd go as far as saying the waiters and staff could almost read your mind, they new just what to do and when, £62.50 bought us two very substantial starters with extra starters like garlic bread with cheese and olives and feta in a bowl, my wife had sirloin steak in a cream mushroom type sauce, and mine was the fillet steak with an olive, anchovy, tomato, capers type sauce with roast pots carrots and mange tout served separately X2,and then to finish off was profiteroles and ice cream and a cheesecake with brulee top plus 2 diet cakes and 2 normal cokes, all this food was of the highest quality and the staff were great from start to finish, service with a smile for less than £65.
