I spent a brilliant night here with friends. The staff were lovely, very helpful and the food was the best. I only managed to have one cocktail which was amazing but from the rest of my friends comments, so were all the others!! I would definitely come back here, even though I live in Manchester, it was that good!!

My husband and I have been regular diners at the Spread Eagle for over 11 years now and have found nowhere that comes anywhere near it's standard. The food is always first class and the staff are always so pleasant and respectful, which means a lot these days! We really do enjoy coming and recommend The Spread Eagle to all our friends.

We ate in this restaurant today and I can honestly say it is the worse meal we have ever had. I ordered an 'oven baked' potato and it had never seen an oven in its life other than a microwave one. It also cost £5.95 that was over the top I thought My husband had steak pie which was dry and the mash had lumps in it and the plate was swimming in cheap gravy The waitresses were surly and never asked if anything was OK. We often use Sugarvine and they had a glowing Sugarvine review in the window. This review was not dated so I presume it was from years ago. A very bad experience that will certainly not be repeated by us! The whole lunch also cost over £15 that was money thrown away in our opinion.

Cariad Coffee House and Tearoom – Kirkby Lonsdale

A gang of of visited this new baby of duks last week end it was amazing, the standards are just as high, and it was packed out standing room only at the bar, the food delicious, service impeccable, the choice of new drinks like whistling duck and duck pond brilliant. I had the most juicy fillet steak with a garlic sauce my friend had a some weird dish of stewy stuff, that chef made up for him, it shouldn't have tasted good, but it was out of this world, it had fruit and meat together --odd, Ramsey would have a fit, must be nice to be sure you can make anything taste so good and not be afraid to break the mold, the prices are also very good value our bill only came to £28.00 each and we had really nice wine and a couple of desserts between us, one was a large metal bucket yes bucket of summer berries dusted with icing sugar and served with chocolate dip! FOOD Heaven. You must visit you will not be disappointed, good luck duk, you have two fab places, by the way love the name POND, only got it after a few bottles of wine! ha ha We'll be back soon so watch out were coming for a lazy afternoon on the sofas and going to work our way through the menu

Wicked eatery. Great write up by Frank Turner from the M.E.N. They have opened up two more venues, one at the new Ski resort at the Chill Factore Manchester and also Marsden Road, Deansgate Bolton. Excellent 2nd review by M.E.N again! and june edition of Lancashire Magazine. 21st century Modern Indian Cuisine!

As one of a group of seven ladies who had lunch at Mitton Hall on Thursday 26th June i felt I must mention how wonderful the new look is. We were welcomed with freshly prepared Pimms and greeted like old friends. Our waitress Melanie was absolutely fantastic and our blue haired host Andy was wonderful. We had a selection from the different menu's and after lunch our host even provided a guided tour of the facilities. We will be back and bringing our husband's. Many Thanks Lucy

Cafe Artisan has a lovely relaxed atmosphere, great coffee and tasty well priced selection of sandwiches, paninis, and larger meals. Its also kid friendly, with a good healthy choice of sandwiches & salad (not listed on the menu) and toys/books to keep them occupied.

I've been to this restaurant many times. The food and service is excellent. All the items on the menu are numbered so its easy to keep track of what you've order - even better take a small post it pad with you and write down each item ordered.

Very nice food indeed. However the restaurant was smokey, the service was slow, becoming inattentive and the live music was awful. Once again another disappointing Chorley restaurant that is overpriced and overrated!

If you pay the full prices in this restaurant, you would probably say , it's a bit pricey but the food and service were excellent. Go any night between 5 and 7 ( except Saturday ) and get 2-for-1 and you will be absolutely amazed. This is the best food we have had in a long long time. Also, as a bonus... 2 for 1 cocktails on Thursdays and Sundays !

I'be been going to this pub for their Sunday Lunch for the last year since reading the reviews on here. However, in that time, the service, staff friendliness and food standards have all slipped. We were 2 hours on Sunday for a main/dessert and the waitress was pretty rude to us because we were 10 minutes late for our reservation (even though the place was empty). The Sunday Lunch has reduced in size and increased in price. Won't be back for a while.

We had the most delicious tapas here last night (Sunday). It was very quiet and only one other couple dined as we were there. We had pitta bread with 4 delicious dips, huge prawns in garlic (the best!) patatas bravas, fillet steak strips and chicken strips with african spices and scallops done in chilli and garlic. With a bottle of house wine and pre dinner drinks ofa pint of peroni and a glass of wine and soda, the bill came to £54.06, which we thought was excellent value. Having dined at their sister restaurant DUK in preston several times, we knew we would be getting quality food and they didnt disappoint. We shall certainly be returning to POND as soon as possible and highly recommend this restaurant.

Apparently this was just a take away. However now its expanded into a restaurant acquiring next door. The place is immaculate with service to match. I was very impressed with my chicken Jalfrezi, both its quality and portion size.

Balti House – Blackburn

The menu seems more like a pub chain than it used to be, and prices seem higher than it used to for more standardised fare. There isn't as great a choice as previously, and although there is still a specials board the choice isn't as extensive. Went a few weeks ago, early evening, and they were out of all the starter specials. This was surprising as it wasn't busy. In fact, I've been since, and it was also quiet on that occasion. Although food and service ok, the menu and food isn't as good as it used to be. I'm guessing that there has been a change in direction by the management, after all it is owned by a large chain. This is a pity, as it used to give the impression of being more individual.

Arrived at the Waddington Arms a few minutes before they stopped serving lunch but they accepted our order. The food was excellent and good value and the interior is modern and comfortable. They also have accommodation which we wanted to try but were told that they get booked up very quickly (I am not surprised) and didn't have any availability but we will keep trying. I would definitely recommend the Waddington Arms go on try it you wont be disappointed!

We ate here a week ago and although it was very nice it was expensive and the choice was limited. It was ok for a sandwich and a drink and all the food was locally sourced, there wasn't much for children apart from some ice cream which proved very popular.
