Found this place whilst out for a drive, and decided to stop for a quick drink in the sun! However, the menu looked superb, so we decided to order some food. We were not disappointed. The ploughmans and seafood platter were gorgeous - so fresh and tasty. Definitely one of the best pub lunches that we have had in a while. The service was also very good. Would definitely return to sample more of this very interesting and tempting menu.

Dined at the Railway today (Sunday 4th July) with my husband and what a delightful surprise! We were just passing after a day out and looking for somewhere to eat. We were so pleased we stopped,it has restored our faith in "pub" dining. The food was excellent and staff charming. I just wish it was at the bottom of my road!

The Railway Tavern Euxton – Chorley

Went to the pheasant for Sunday dinner, we were very disappointed, small portions with undercooked veg and three small dry pieces of beef and vastly over priced, when i went to pay the managers attitude was aggressive and rude, I will never recommend this place I will tell people never to eat there and I will certainly never return

Pheasant Inn Brewers Fayre – Ormskirk

Never been before, arrived to a very busy restaurant we had to wait an hour for a table, but boy was it worth it. The food and atmosphere was excellent and yes we would wait again!

I was surprised to see that there are not more reviews for Amelie's on this site! That said, Amelie's is one of Lancashires best kept secrets! We again enjoyed a fantabulous meal which was a special thank-you treat from relatives. They couldn't have picked a better venue and the whole experience from arrival to departure was one of being made to feel special, if not a little pampered. The staff are highly attentive and friendly, without being over familiar. The food? Well, put simply it is to die for; presenting a worthy and competitive challenge to the menus, ingredient quality and presentation of every other renowned restaurant in this area of Lancashire and beyond.

Even though the restaurant was booked up, they still found room for us. The staff were polite, charming and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The food was Amazing, really really gorgeous! We had the tapas menu which was a real eye opener, the choice was fantastic, the only problem was that once i had tried it, i wanted to eat everything on the menu!

The great chef has now left and they also have a very sleazy waiter now too. Made our visit very uncomfortable indeed. Specials are now very limited, service is poor and if you want to take your girlfriend, be warned, the short waiter will almost certainly hit on her while you are at the toilet. Give this restaurant a wide berth at the moment.

we first stayed at the Red Pump in January for our wedding anniversary, because we can no longer afford Northcote Manor and the Inn at Whitewell was full. it couldn't have been more lovely, food and room were just what we like - not over the top, real attention to detail and great ingredients cooked with flair. On the back of that visit I booked a wedding reception on behalf friends who live in Cairo. Martina was fantastic in helping me deliver an intimate reception for their friends and family and they were delighted with the setting and the food.

We went to this restaurant two weeks ago after recommendations and had a lovely meal, however this weekend we went again, a group of us to celebrate one of our parties birthdays……………….what a disappointment, we were seated upstairs (if your given this option avoid like the swine flu), pretty much forgotten about, starters took ages to arrive, main course no quicker, and when they did arrive accompaniments were slow to appear, and in four of our parties cases never arrived at all even after asking for them twice. When the bill arrived no apology and it took me to explain that I wasn’t prepared to pay £21 for just a piece of steak!!! Customer service is very poor, and management don’t seem to want to deal with problems. Waiting on staff were blamed for our lack of service but I spoke to someone I charge who took responsibility for the missing vegetables only to later on to pass the blame back to the poor waitress who did her best to try and resolve the situation. Not a pleasant experience, will not be going again, I had given a good review to friends and family who were planning on going, unfortunately after this visit their not going anymore…………..!!!!!

Me and my family spent a fantastic evenings dining here. The service from the well trained staff is impeccable. The food is very reasonable and worthy of awards in my opinion. The setting of this country pub is lovely and many an afternoon/evening could so easily be whiled away taking in the views whilst dining outside in the garden or tasting the many local ales the pub offers. Well worth a visit!!!

The Sparrowhawk – Burnley
Mr And Mrs Smith

We really adore the food in this restaurant. The staff are very friendly and outgoing. We have been customers for nearly five years and we come and taste this lovely food every week. The recession does not stop me from eating my favourite food!

Well worth the trip from Manchester. A really lovely restaurant with cheerful, friendly staff. The seafood tapas starter was the highlight, closely followed by a perfect sirloin main course. A good selection of well priced wine and a good pint of real beer was bonus. It wasn't as busy as the quality of food merited. Highly recommended.

3 Millstones Inn – Clitheroe

Came across the restaurant out of pure chance, thought it looked OK from the exterior, but what i surprise when we stepped inside. Saturday night at 7pm, managed to find a table for two almost immediately although it was reassuringly busy. One of the nicest meals I've had, definitely the best Chinese anyway. Table service- faultless, and food was promptly served, fresh and delicious. All without the heavy sleepy feeling after many Chinese meals manage to achieve. We eat out very often, however it is not the place you could visit every week in regards to price. But i would certainly be inclined to visit once a month after the lovely experience we had. Our best discovery yet! Just goes to show being a little adventurous pays off every now and again.

I have been here a few times and this time I decided to dine here, the restaurant/cafe had a real buzz and all the food looked so delicious that it was difficult to make a decision. There is plenty of choice for everyone…a little on the pricey side but was definitely value for money!

Walled Garden Bistro – Preston

We visited this restaurant on Saturday 20th June. The atmosphere was good, staff were friendly, food was reasonably priced. They had a special deal on 2 courses for £16.95 which was good value. The food was very good! Presented to a very high standard too. Lamb was overcooked but that was the only complaint on a table of 6. There are lots of dining seats upstairs so don't be put off if downstairs looks busy. I will definitely go again.

Fusion Room – Preston
Very Disappointed

Having read numerous good reports,I decided to visit the Spread Eagle for Lunch. However, whilst the interior and staff was quite pleasant, I'm afraid the food was disappointing.Additionally, for a lunchtime menu it was well overpriced, especially when most reputable eating places reduce prices for their lunchtime menu. All in all, basically it's a pub playing at being a top class restaurant. Needless to say in this respect, it fails quite badly.

A party of eight of us attended frankie and bennies only to find the staff were not the best, it is an italian so you would expect the usual being offered black pepper, parmesan but the truth was one of the party asked for balsamic vinegar and was passed your ordinary malt vinegar i asked for Parmesan and was looked at like i was from another planet, another member of the party asked for a doggy bag to take home and had to transfer the food herself into the box. I had requested a slice of cake with all the works for my friends b-day but because we had mentioned that a pizza was burnt we ended up with a scoop of vanilla ice cream with a candle shoved in the top. Not the best place i have dined in a long time.
