Gosh, reading the other reviews I feel a real party pooper. We came for supper during a weeks' break in the region and I wasn't that impressed with the place. Very very busy and touristy but with a very good buzzy atmosphere which the kids loved (as did the millions of other kids there!. Menu a little uninspiring and I settled on fish and chips which was good but left me feeling a little bored. Kids meals good but we have visited better places in the area that deserve a little more airplay than the Three Fishes currently enjoys.

A very nice surprise on a wet (soaking actually) summers day. Superb sesame tempura calamari with soy dip, meltingly delicious Ribeye steak and a super berry pannacota for me; the significant other had duck and rabbit terrine, excellent whole seabass baked in parchment with gingery vegetables and followed by liquorice ice cream. We were supposed to go for a walk on Longridge Fell and decided to just look at it instead from the gardens at The Red Pump Inn with another glass of Merlot. Absolutely spot on, didn't even know the place existed, but will return.

I too have visited la salsa on two occasions sine it opened ,like Jayne the first time we took ou own drinks, the service was excellent, i am going again On Friday 25 august with a few friends, and i have no doubt it will be just as excellent. It is much better than la tasca for us.

Very impressed, one of the best Indian Meals I've eaten.

WE have been here many times and have always liked the ambience, the food and the service. It really is a special location and the quality of the food is consistently good BUT BUT the portions are minimal. What could have been a super meal was spoilt by the tiny amount of food hidden under the salad. After lunch we went to home to satisfy our hunger.

I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and it was absolutely fantastic. The prices are incredibly cheap - I had a beautiful pasta carbonara for lunch for £1.95! I had to check with the waitress it wasn't just a starter at that price - but it came and it was beautiful and a large main portion! All the food I saw come out looked really tasty and of a generous serving! I thought the service was excellent, particularly with the larger parties in there. I just felt bad when my bill after a huge, beautiful lunch was only £3.15! And they also did set menus at about £5-6 for lunch and £12 for dinner. Brilliant!

I love the Valley Cantonese, the food is fantastic and the service is second to none. You are always welcomed no matter how rushed they are, and their take away food is by far the best this side of Manchester.

The food, atmosphere and quality is second to none. The staff are very good the manager is rather dishy and very attentive. Well he is Italian!!!

Tiggis Pizzeria – Preston

second visit in a couple of months, very good choice of dishes available and very good fish dishes available which was a surprise. Very friendly atmosphere and a choice of two dining rooms to choose from. children’s menu was a bit sketchy though with Ribeye steak (very good) to pasta (boring and pricey), which we mentioned to the owner. We will definitely visit again and stay over next time as the rooms are beautiful.

The Red Pump Inn – Clitheroe

Very smart refurbishment, excellent pizzas. Organisation amongst staff lacking co-ordination. Check bill visited 3 times bill wrong (not in our favour) twice.

The Halfway House – Chorley

A traditional old pub feel. Young staff always very pleasant and efficient. Portions generally very generous, cooked well and presented well.

The Beaumont – Chorley

This is Indian cuisine at its best. The food is fresh and light. We are slowly working through the extensive menu and everything is wonderful. The breads are highly recommended as are the fish dishes. The introduction of a fine wine selection has made this restaurant even better and the service is attentive and confident, but very unobtrusive. This allows you to relax and enjoy an intimate evening. Don't waste your money at Heathcotes etc. Here you can have higher quality food and better wine for a much smaller price.

Barton Bangla Brasserie – Preston

i first visited la salas when it opened towards the end of 2006. we visited for a freinds 30th Birthday party and i was very impressed. the food was a lot better than la tasca and the portions were good value for money. i have been about 7 times since with groups of friends and with my partner and everyone has enjoyed it. they have now got a licence to sell alcohol so you can no longer take your own drinks. drinks prices are about the same as other restaurants. check before going as last time i visited they still didnt accept card payments. (cash only).

it's a while since i have visited Nino's it's much larger and more modern than before, with a lovely informal atmosphere, from arriving to leaving, the pleasant staff were all very helpful, the service was excellent too, the food was outstanding, top class in every way, a little pricey, but definitely worth it

Nino’s Rawtenstall – Rawtenstall

This is absolutely my favourite restaurant. I drag everyone who comes to visit here, and I always get a warm welcome from Karen the Manager and James the owner. I’m really fussy with my food, and although the menu is huge, I often ask for a bit of tweaking here and there, which is never a problem. The staff can’t do enough for you, but they are never invasive. The place is beautiful, the food is fabulous, the service is attentive and the atmosphere is warm. Unfortunately, I suspect that the food may contain calories.

Truffles – Chorley

THE BEST FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE KEEP IT UP!!!

Balti House – Blackburn

This is a very quaint little restaurant that has a very varied menu that caters for not only the meat and fish eaters but also for vegetarians offering alternatives such as mushroom stroganoff. It has subdued lighting which makes it a very cosy and romantic little venue if you want it to be. The excellent food and friendly service makes it ideal for any celebration such as birthdays. There is a small seating area outside the restaurant which caters for the smokers. At first glance the menu appears pricey. However, be careful when ordering side dishes as they can be quite large portions!! On my first visit we ordered a few side orders and ended up with a banquet that could have fed four!! If you are going on a romantic date, or a special anniversary dinner I would whole heartedly recommend this restaurant. May be advisable to book and check closing times as they dont open very late. Also check out their early bird diners offer. Ive never been for an early tea but there are some good deals if you want to try it out.
