I found this wonderful establishment some years ago and don? (to my shame) visit it very often. However, this does maintain the element of complete enjoyment on each and every visit and it is a bi- annual confirmation of just how good this restaurant is. Can the good get better? In this case I? have to say yes as The Sultan once again shines through as the sparkling example of culinary excellence that others may follow, but not surpass.

Quattro? is an excellent Italian restaurant with a Sardinian flavour. We knew it existed, but the best recommendation we had was from a waiter in an excellent restaurant called La Rocca in Baia Sardegna near Porto Cuervo who had worked there. It is a genuinely Italian restaurant, too; many so-called Italian restaurants over here simply serve an Italian menu and pay mere lip service to the quality of the dishes. Quattro? serve the quality of food you would expect in a good local restaurant in Italy. There are several reasons for this; ingredients are high quality, but also the chef's are Italian and know what they are doing. Meat and fish were both fresh and good quality. Choices of dishes were good. Starters and pasta are tasty, the Malloredus (with Sargegnan cured wild boar sausage) was top notch, and the sauce with the prawns was wonderful. There is a great selection of main courses (secondi platti); never trust an Italian menu that doesn't serve veal - and Quattro? two veal dishes are excellent, I'd recommend the saltimbocca very highly. There was a great selection of seafood and steak dishes too. Portions are a good size, cheaper restaurants fill you up with poor-quality pasta and skimp on the more expensive ingredients. Not so here, there are plenty of both. Too much in fact; in Italy you'd have a starter, then a pasta course and a meat or fish course plus of course a dessert. We couldn't have managed that here! The wine list has a good selection of quality wines; having visited Sardegna we know our way round a good wine list. We chose torbatta which is a very nice but little known white. There was a nice selection of reds too; we'll sample the DOC Cannonau next time. The grappa was the excellent brown Nardini, definitely a sign they are selective in what they give to customers. It is a very friendly place; they make you feel special, even if it's your first time. Children are welcomed - always a good sign. My only regret is that they didn't serve Porceddu (Sardegnan roast suckling pig) or serve the excellent Terra Brune red wine. It's hard to find a good restaurant in North Liverpool; we are really glad we found Quattro? and will now be regulars

Just sampled Bow Window for the first time. We feel that we would have no hesitation in recommending the restaurant to anyone who would appreciate a place, which offered that something different. Really nice surroundings with a fantastic view of the bay. The service was attentive when required. The food was quite delicious, freshly cooked and included those little extra additions which make a huge difference from one restaurant to another. In addition we were presented with a good selection of wonderful wines. A place to return to!

a modern contemporary bar/brasserie friendly staff, varied menu freshly cooked and excellently presented for little more than the cost of your branded pub food. Will definately be a place to be seen on a weekend evening with the vibrant bar atmosphere and live music on sunday evenings.

Had a meal at blue elephant last weekend, we really enjoyed the food and the service was very good. The exotic duck starter for two priced at £9.95 was great value for money recommend it to you anytime. Can? wait till they re-open the main restaurant downstairs which they said they are spending half a million pound on the refurbishment. The theme not contemporary this time. We?e booked a party for twenty-five people at the new blue elephant at scarsbrick near omskirk.

Quite a surprise to find such a funky contempory restaurant in Todmorden! They seem to have very forward thinking ideas about the food and wine as well. Well worth a trip to!

My boyfriend and I ate here recently and I have been desperate to go back ever since. I had the most fantastic night. The staff are very friendly and attentive but in no way false, they are just lovely people. The ambience is so relaxed and I just felt totally at home. Now for the food - wow! I think it is up there as one of the best Italian meals I have ever had - and I have been to Rome! I immediately noticed that the menu is very varied and caters for all tastes. We had prawns in filo pastry and spare ribs to start, both of which were delicious. We both chose a steak for main course but had different sauces, both of which were again delicious - cutting the steak was like putting a hot knife through butter and it just melted in your mouth. We had tiramisu and chocolate fudge cake to finish with and this just rounded off the perfect meal. All washed down with a beautiful bottle of Pinot Grigio and a very creamy Baileys coffee. Yum. All in all we had a fantastic night. You couldn't ask for more - excellent food, wonderful service and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. I would recommend it to anyone.

Party of 11 dined on Sunday lunch staff were excellent catering for our daughter of 3 although they don't have a Childs menu. Once again, an excellent meal, which we recommended to our family who were all suitably impressed. Until next time... thank you

My boyfriend and I went to Longlands because the menu attracted us, and we weren't let down by anything other than the garlic bread. I guess we could go to Tescos and buy the same product. But hey, no quibbles, the food was superb and of high quality! The service was also very good, nice friendly staff!!!

We?e visited this culinary heaven on three occasions during our winters "Curry Tour" and although it is a 90-mile round trip from base, my goodness it? well worth it. We will eat our way through the menu...eventually! Wonderful is an inadequate accolade.

Etna deserves a review - it is a popular and regular visit for those who appreciate a relaxed, homely and traditional italian restaurant. At prices that don't hurt too much, there are a good range of pastas and mains and some good wines at sensible prices. You can pop in here for a quick bite or make an evening of it. My favourite old standard in Lancaster

Bank Holiday Monday, sun shining, beautiful scenery plus hunger drew us to the Three Fishes. It was our lucky day - not only did they stay open for food all day, but the food was worth the trip out from Manchester. We got so wrapped up in the main menu that we totally missed out on the specials. As with lots of pubs, you order your food at the bar. That? where the similarity ends. Wow! That was only the starters - crumpet with curd cheese and beetroot salad for me & an incredible potato soufflé for him. Next were the generously portioned main courses. OK, I had fish & chips; but not as you've had it before. Crisp, light batter, 'home made' chips. And there were no complaints about the liver & kidneys from the other side of the table. Somehow, there was just enough room for dessert - Lancashire curd tart with lemon cream, and himself went for the selection of Lancashire cheeses, served by the 16 year old 'Cheese Boy', whose knowledge of his product was brilliant - especially for someone of that age. The atmosphere was good, the food excellent, and the price reasonable. We'll be back for more! Who knows, we may even remember to look at the specials!

At the bargain pizza/pasta end of the menu this restaurant is ok. Try to be a little more adventurous and you will be rewarded. We have always had good meals here and the rack of lamb is fantastic. The premium wines are now on the menu but are worth the extra.
