Ship Inn – LancasterGreat Food, service and Atmosphere for our Staff Christmas Lunch!
The Waterwitch – LancasterGreat from start to finish , lovely Christmas atmosphere, wonderful attentive staff , cracking Sunday roast ! Can’t ask for more , thanks !
Wagon and Horses – LancasterGorgeous food!
The Waterwitch – LancasterThe building is stunning, inside and out, but I have to say that we were rather disappointed with the food. The mushroom and spinach Madras tasted of very little except chilli, and the few vegetables in the vegetable biryani were a bit odd for an Indian dish (chickpeas, beansprouts, bamboo shoots) and were clearly out of a tin.
Sultan Of Lancaster – LancasterWent for a meal over Christmas, fantastic food, and fantastic staff
The Waterwitch – LancasterIt was very quick service and the food was excellent. Tasty humus gigantic fish goujons.
The Waterwitch – LancasterVisited 29th November with friends. Had previously visited The Sultan with my wife albeit several years ago. We were not disappointed the food was excellent and menu extensive. Clearly all freshly made and well presented with the staff courteous and friendly. Will certainly visit again.
Sultan Of Lancaster – LancasterHad lunch. Chose a pizza which was very nice and some chicken and bacon dirty fries. All very tasty. The people we were with chose a beef ciabatta and a pork ciabatta. They enjoyed their food as well. Service was good.
The Waterwitch – LancasterThe Wagon and Horses is highly recommended. The staff - very friendly and helpful, the food delicious, the environment retains some the nearly 200 year features whilst being modern and welcoming.
Wagon and Horses – LancasterNestled along the picturesque canal in Lancaster, the Water Witch Restaurant is a hidden gem that beautifully combines a serene atmosphere with top-notch dining. From the moment you step inside, you are enveloped in a warm, inviting ambiance that perfectly complements the stunning views of the waterway outside. Atmosphere: The atmosphere at Water Witch is truly enchanting. The gentle sound of water and the occasional chirp of birds create a tranquil backdrop that enhances the overall experience. Food The menu at Water Witch is a celebration of flavors, featuring a delightful mix of traditional and modern dishes. Each plate is crafted with care, showcasing fresh, locally sourced ingredients. I highly recommend starting with the artisanal bread and local cheese platter—a perfect way to whet your appetite. For the main course, the grilled fish of the day was cooked to perfection, flaky and flavorful, while the vegetarian options are equally impressive, bursting with seasonal vegetables and creative flair. Don’t forget to save room for dessert; the homemade sticky toffee pudding is a must-try! Staff Service The service at Water Witch is exemplary. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. Our server took the time to explain the menu and offer recommendations, ensuring that our dining experience was seamless and enjoyable. The quality of the food, combined with the lovely setting and attentive service, makes it well worth the price. The portions are generous, and the thoughtful presentation of each dish adds to the overall experience. Considering the high standard of dining, it’s a place where you truly get what you pay for. In conclusion, Water Witch Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone in Lancaster. Whether you’re looking for a romantic dinner, a family gathering, or just a lovely meal by the canal, this restaurant delivers on all fronts. I can't wait to return and explore more of their fantastic menu. Highly recommended!
The Waterwitch – LancasterWhat a great place. We met family here as a 1/2 way point. Great place. Great location. They had given us a table upstairs, which was fab , window seat, looking at the water. Staff were lovely. Menu was great. We had 3 vegetarian options & 1 meat dish. Would definitely go again.
The Waterwitch – LancasterReally nice Sunday lunch, every element on the plate perfectly cooked and nicely presented. Decent fish and chips, especially the chips. Lovely staff and very well kept Robinson’s beer. Chef, if you’re bothered, I personally think the sauces for the squid (also perfectly cooked by the way) should be on the side so we can dip. I was desperate to find something you could improve and that’s the best I can do. Bravo.
