We visited the ship inn for our 20th wedding day. We enjoyed a very friendly service and delicious food. In my opinion for the money you get plenty of food and I was really full after the greek salad I decided. My husband enjoyed the fettucini and after that a really rich cheesecake. The waiter went into the kitchen immediately to aks about the flavour of the todays cheesecake. Thank you very much for the nice experience.

Lovely pub location, looked forward to couple of beers and a nice meal, did not enjoy the selection of disinterested surly children working bar and floor, could barely contain their over privileged contempt for customers actually wishing to be served. Food looked the part however different components of meal either boiling hot or cold. Real shame as we had looked forward to our evening out but found ourselves bitching about how shite and disappointing the Water Witch was... Just a suggestion... Employ some experienced older staff please, the students just ain't up to the job

What a find we were visiting Lancaster found this restaurant on the Internet booked it no problem looked at reviews brill. Got there we didn't realise they didn't serve alcohol but honestly we didn't need it we had bottled water and the Indian food was the best l ever tasted l had slow cooked lamb highly recommend Service was brill also even though we were told they were short on staff thankyou

Food excellent. Wonderful blend of traditional pub food and exciting Italian flair. Loved it.

Beautiful fresh food. GF fish goujon sandwich was great. Pizzas also looked smashing. Table was not the cleanest and quite sticky...maybe a good surface cleaner needed. Otherwise a nice stop for food. .

Food was great and they had last minute availability on a Saturday night. Only slight frustration was nearly an hours wait for food.

My husband had a steak which he enjoyed, I had a smaller portion of fish and chips whi I enjoyed. Our friends enjoyed their meal as well. At least we know where we can get a good meal in Lancaster

Fabulous food. I had a wonderful gluten free fish and chips, batter was as light as a feather thankyou. Hubby had an amazing burger. Huge portions of chips which we just couldn't finish. Really lovely staff. Hats off to the chefs.

Excellent Sunday Lunch, I had the Chicken and the wife had the Pork, shared a starter which was excellent. Good range of drinks and service was with a smile by the staff. Too full for a pudding and needed a decent walk afterwards, excellent all round.

Sometimes things written about places seem a bit too good to be true. Not in this case. Absolutely love this place. Great gluten free selection and staff are so friendly. Great spot at the side of the canal and a lovely atmosphere. From Liverpool and been here a couple of times now, and will be back before the years out. Thanks

Deliciously food, huge portions and great service

We loved our main courses and they were very helpful with personal preferences. For some reason we were not offered the dessert menu or coffees but as we were pretty full it wasn't a problem. If we had felt hungry enough then we would have asked for one but it was quite noticeable that it didn't happen so it's just FYI really and not a complaint. Will definitely return to try something else on the menu!

Decent food, unfortunately the service was disappointing. The initial greeter was great, but the next waitress (think she was fairly new but should have been trained properly?) didn't ask how I wanted my steak cooked, didn't ask if I wanted a sauce with it, and when we asked a couple of questions about the desserts, asked us if we wanted her to go and find out! I also had to go and find someone when we wanted to order the desserts as no one came after we had finished our main meals. As stated, the food was really nice but the lack of attentiveness in the waiting on let the place down.

Sat night booking, no specials offered, no steak pie. Award winning in what year? Continental cuisine, was that just peri peri kebab and ceasur salad or pizza. Had the gammon, was tough and chewy, fish and chips was really greasy, left a puddle of oil on plate. Was not asked if everything ok when plates cleared, only when we paid the bill. Informed young man at that time. We were looking forward to a lovely sat night meal but food was worse that Witherspoon's. Sorry but will not be dining again. It was a lovely warm eve at 8 pm and only 3 sets of people eating, should have told us something.

Overall very good meal. Chicken parmigiana was very dry. Not a problem. Gio was excellent sorted it out. Definitely go again. Highly recommended

After recently rediscovering the Wagon and Horses, my partner and myself have had several meals here. We have not had a bad meal,the seafood pasta is delicious. We would highly recommend it.
