Wow,what a place, the food, service, atmosphere amazing. Would definitely recommend booking beforehand as it is really busy, we were disappointed last time we visited Scarborough as we couldn't get in, but worth the wait, can't wait till next time.

Marvellous, had looked before but delighted we went for lunch. Excellent menu and our choices were fab. My only constructive criticism would be, if you allow dogs then in the interests of other diners the owners should be told “2 barks and there out” nothing against animals but I don’t want to hear them barking when I’m having a meal.

Came again for lunch with parents. Lovely food very good portions. Staff were excellent. Coming again Saturday with the rest of my family.

Food always excellent, we have small plate roast dinner, being seniors with smaller appetites. The staff are friendly and helpful. We can't fault anything.

My friend and I from Sheffield were staying in Askrigg for a few days and booked for a meal about 3 weeks in advance. We both had little dogs with us. We were welcomed in straight away and shown out table near the bar, after getting our drinks. Our dogs were given a treat and a bowl of water too! The menu was quite extensive and reasonably priced with some fairly unusual dishes for a pub. When the food came, it was beautifully presented and absolutely piping hot! We thoroughly enjoyed it and I mentioned to the staff that the sea bass I had with the seafood risotto was the best meal I had had in a long time, and I meant it! She said she would pass the message on to the chef. All the staff we encountered were very friendly, attentive and polite. I can not recommend this pub highly enough. Well done to all concerned!!

Another fabulous meal at the Saturday bistro night. We have a second home in Scarborough which whenever we pop over we book at Lookout on the Pier as it’s become our favourite restaurant. We go to enjoy the local fish, especially the Lobster which get better ever time. Always full of flavour and not overpowered by additional ingredients. By far one of the best lobster dishes I’ve eaten. Staff are very helpful and always attentive without being overpowering. Excellent food!

Really good food and excellent service

Maxi's is fantastic. This time we went for the special lunch which is a real bargain. Nice selection and excellent food. Apart from the lovely meal, a real bonus is the staff. They are really helpful and friendly. We will definitely be going back soon :)

I thought the chicken was processed, dry, cold and tasteless. It could have been hotter as the mash was only warm. The pub was nice.

Really great experience here as a family of 4. Good choice on the menu and every dish ordered was really tasty. The service was spot on, friendly and conscientious. Great value and cozy.
