Started badly when I cut my finger on the savage door on the way in. I mentioned it only to be told that, yes it’s awful isn’t it, I do it all the time ;) my advice, do something about it! Got sat on table in front of the door and every time it opened it was blooming freezing, not helped by people coming in and holding it open to see if they could have a table. Asked to move and was told we couldn’t. I asked again a little later when I saw an feee table and they gave us that one which was fab albeit still not terribly warm. I wanted the Philly steak sandwich, but there was no philly………!!!! We ordered a latte but they couldn’t make it as they had no milk and “had to pop to the shop” :). A little strange to run out if things by Saturday lunch time. But, glad I couldn’t have what I wanted as what I did have (burger with bacon and Brie) was beautiful. Lovely and hot. Everyone said their food was really nice. Service good considering it was very busy. So in summary, mind the savage door when you go in, try to avoid a table near the door and ENJOY the lovely food.

This was my second visit to Brooks and once again the food was fabulous and the service excellent. The flavours in the Ceylon chicken were wonderful with the cashew nuts being a lovely crunchy contrast to the softness of the chicken. The Sri Lankan tiger prawn curry was also delicately flavoured and very enjoyable. I would recommend ordering a rice dish as I found (on my previous visit) that the roti did not soak up the sauce. I absolutely recommend this restaurant.

Lovely atmosphere, with fabulous food and great customer service. Lots of GF and Vegan as well. Would thoroughly recommend.

Great Sunday lunch. Really good quality food. Service good. Table was a little sticky - we should have said something at the time - but it didn’t detract from a great Sunday lunch.

We are never disappointed when we visit the Cowshed, the food is always of good quality served in a relaxed, dog friendly atmosphere. Would very much recommend booking a table though as 'walk-in's' may be disappointed at busy times and weekends.

The service here has definitely dropped since the last time we ate here. Even though it was quiet our food (for 6 people) took over 40 minutes. Also people ordering after us were getting their food before us. The food was good when it arrived, but I think overpriced for what you get. My coffee was dreadful. The express was burnt and you could tell the milk used was semi skimmed. Some training definitely required here.

Very pleasant cafe, popular with locals and holidaymakers. Gets a lot of repeat business. Family and dog friendly. Reservation advised especially during busy periods.

We didn't have a very good experience as my beef with my Sunday dinner was so tough, we were only offered 1 free dessert and the waitress was very rude to us and several others as we witnessed it. The service time was far too long, a real shame as a beautiful location

We love the Cow Shed and as usual the food, service and surroundings were amazing. It is nice to be able to have a walk on the beach with the dogs and go have a bite to eat and drink somewhere clean, tidy and welcoming and take the dogs with us. 100% recommended, we will keep going back.

First time at DoW and we were really happy with the food. Copious amounts for a Sunday roast and delicious. Staff mostly delightful and definitely attentive (one a bit grumpy but the others made up for it). Only two slight complaints: the Yorkshires had obviously been reheated and were hard/crispy. And the apple crumble was perfect for someone with a super-sweet tooth but was too sweet for me.

We had a really great meal at Sambuca. The food was amazing quality at such a good price. The restaurant was packed out but the service was still top notch. We hadn’t been for a few years but will definitely be back again soon!

Great food but sadly poor service & there were only 4 tables occupied. No non-alcohol beer/lager despite being on the menu. Drinks order nit quite right. When the plates were cleared we asked for the dessert menu (8.20pm) only to be told the kitchen was closed so we couldn’t have dessert. We were then told the owners were keen to close as we were the only ones left. There was one person who appeared to be senior who was lovely, helpful & very apologetic.

We have visited Brooks now fairly regularly for the last few months, the dishes are first class, and very tasty, the service is great with enthusiastic owners and superb serving staff, in a great venue. One of our favourite eating establishments.
