Having eaten Japanese food in a number of cities (Vancouver, London, San Francisco) but never in Japan I am always unsure of how authentic the food is. I can only say that Etsu serves the best Japanese food I have ever tasted and it all seems very authentic and true to the Japanese tradition. My wife and I asked the owner/manager to surprise us and left the choice to him. We enjoyed an absolutely superb choice of food which was presented faultlessly by really friendly staff. Every dish was a revelation and the whole meal was memorable. The damage for two people with beer and wine based on 6 or 8 decent sized plates was £50.00. If only all Liverpool restaurants were this good. Can't wait to go back and can't recommend it too highly.

Went along to the Munro for Sunday lunch and had a scrumptious roast dinner, also the starter was fab. I would highly recommend it and the service was spot on. Well worth the money, you won't be disappointed.

12 of us went last night for my Birthday, very few had been for Thai food before so a lot of us were weary of what to expect. Walked in and this is next level dining. Absolutely class inside, fish tanks water features, traditional Thai decor, fantastic. Was seated at a pre-booked sunken VIP table which was nice. Ordered the banquet for 8 and everyone loved it. Absolutely beautiful food, full of flavour. This is by far my new favourite place to eat, cant wait to return. By far the best meal I've had in my lifetime, cannot recommend this place enough!!!

avoid at all costs. i had heard mixed reviews about las iguanas but it was chosen as a leaving do for a work mate leaving the city. what a shame the last memory of a restaurant was this place! this is chain food at its worst. 4 meals sent back as stone cold, under cooked and pink. very poor quality meat. staff look miserable like they dont want to be there and rushed us as soon as we sat down to order, god no's why, we where the only party there (upstairs). they knocked so much off the bill in the end we all payed just over £10 each, including a few rounds of drinks. it was that bad. avoid avoid avoid. theres so so many nicer places in liverpool and for the amount of competiton that is around the chef needs to be fired!

dined here for lunch yesterday. A truly wonderful experience. Staff very welcoming, wonderful surroundings, beautiful water features and lighting. The food was fabulous. Probably the best dining experience I have ever had in Liverpool. Will be back next week.

I love Nando's, always have, but was shocked at my first experience of Nando's takeaway. We were advised that, as the restaurant wasn't busy, it would take around 15 minutes for the food to come out, which I was fine with. We were then sent to the counter to order. After placing my order I was then told that takeaway orders were dealt with at the bar on the other side of the restaurant, so we headed round there instead. We waited at the empty bar for about fifteen minutes, during which time four different staff members walked past and told us that if we wanted food we'd have to order back at the food counter - each time we explained we wanted takeway, and they promised to find us someone to deal with our request. After being sent back and forth from the food counter to the bar, someone finally took our order and then disappeared. I went over to the food counter to try and order a drink while we waited but was told if I was having takeaway I'd have to order drinks at the bar!!! - so we sat at the bar for about half an hour, drink-less and getting frustrated. Next to us was the hot plate where the food was placed and then taken to the tables. I saw two wrapped parcels of food with our order number on, and asked if they were ready - I got told it would be another fifteen minutes. I spent that time watching the parcel sizzle under the hotplate, not moving. Eventually my boyfriend went over and asked where our food was - it turned out to be the now singed parcel of food sitting in the same place. On examining the order it turned out that they hadn't even got it right and missed some items, but it was too late for us to hang around for another half an hour and we were forced to leave without a refund. Terrible experience, clueless staff.

We went for lunch last week and the food was fabulous, the service was extremely quick and the Staff very pleasant and very professional. The prices are very reasonable the home chips are to die for. Would definitely go again and again and again...

Came here last week - amazing decor, food was lovely and the pitchers of sangria were to die for! However the service was appalling - we waiting over half an hour for a table despite the restaurant being almost completely empty and when I finally asked whether one was ready, the hostess told me she had forgotten about finding us a place, but didn't apologise. Once seated we were ready to order, but again nobody took our order until I finally went over to the bar after about fifteen minutes of sitting at the table with no food or drinks. We only ordered five tapas dishes which took ages to arrive, which was surprising due to the emptiness of the restaurant. On arrival the food was delicious but nobody offered to refill our drinks and hung around the bar area chatting instead. I enjoyed the meal itself but felt that this restaurant was let down by its staff.

I have wanted to visit this restaurant for quite a while but never seemed to get round to it. As it was my birthday, my husband booked it for us and our teenage daughter. The table was booked for 730pm on a Friday evening and from the moment we arrived we were treated like old friends. We were given the option of which table we preferred to sit at and as we chose the one by the door, all of the staff including the chef kept ensuring we were not to cold. The setting inside the restaurant is that of an old greek taverna and you could really forget that you were just off the Dock Road in Liverpool City Centre! As I love greek food I was spoilt for choice so for my starter I decided to get a combination of dips, Tzatziki, taramasolata, hummous, tahini, etc, with warm pitta bread, my husband had the spicy meatballs and our daughter the feta cheese. As there is an open kitchen we could see these being prepared and were with us what seemed like almost straight away. All of the starters we DELICIOUS!! There was enough to fill you but not make you too full for your main. I was again spoilt for choice with the amount of mains to choose from but opted for the haloumi kebabs, my husband went for the lamb, which was accompanied by roast potatoes, rice and green beans, and our daughter for the greek salad. Again all of the dishes were FANTASTIC. We chose not to have dessert although there was a good selection. We were offered a jug of iced water with our meal and my husband had 2 bottles of Keo. Our total bill was just under £60 which we thought was very reasonable for what we received.. All I can say is the the food, service, attentiveness and friendliness of this Taverna surpassed all of my expectations and would definitely recommend it to any who love the whole Greek food and ambiance.

I love eating out and probably spend far too much time looking at this website! This is a fantastic Indian restaurant which I think competes with some of the best restaurants in Liverpool. Good value for money and excellent authentic tasting food. Food isn't normally my favourite cuisine but I will definitely be going back here. Well recommended.

Il Forno is honestly one of the best Italian restaurants if not one of the best ones in Liverpool! I've eaten there on and off over the past few years since it opened and its never disappointed. the restaurant is smartly designed and decorated but not pretentious or intimidating, and it has a fire breathing oven! ok its not actually fire breathing but the oven looks brilliant! the staff are friendly and attentive but don't bother you to much. the most important thing though is the food and drink, simply put its smashing. my friend and i shared a starter of Foccacia with tomato garlic and oregano which was enough for two people to share but not to filling. the Pizzas are fantastic and excellent value for money if they dont fill you up nothing will! and the also serve peroni gran reserve which is a posher version of normal Peroni (not that peroni doesnt taste nice!) which rounds things off perfectly. a starter to share and two pizzas with drinks for us was pretty much £40 for us which i think given the surroundings, service and quality of the food is what i would like to call an epic win ;)

I would Recommend this wonderful restaurant to the Queen of England. You cannot fault one single thing about it. We are booked for a family get together ,yet again, and we are looking forward to it very much. Well done to owners and your wonderful staff. Christine.of Esher in Surrey

Have we all been to the same restaurant?!! I personally found the food pretty poor, the menu unexciting and the decor scruffy. I am sick of the "put up with any old food" vegetarian mentality which allows places like this to serve up ill conceived and unexciting menu's to the cities over-accepting veggies. I had one of the specials, 'gumbo', this proved to be bland and starchy and the side salad that it was served with was far from fresh. WE DON'T HAVE TO EAT BLAND STEWS ALL THE TIME!!! The egg really would benefit travelling to Brighton to sample vegetarian fayre from the country's finest.

My friends and I were in Liverpool last weekend, we decided to try Il forno and were not disappointed by the whole experience, the menu is very very good we all raved about it the next day. The next time we venture to Liverpool I will undoubtedly be visiting here again.

Another fantastic meal at Zorba's, the best Greek Restaurant by far. Thank you Mike and Louisa for a lovely night, it was great to see you both. Will be back again soon.

Perfect service and lovely menu - a must for fish lovers - had the haddock chips and peas - presentation was perfect - dish almost faultless but chips needed work - had a strange taste - i could take them or leave them - I think next time I'd go for the seafood stew - it looks like a type of bouillabaise and looked gorgeous...
