Came here last week - amazing decor, food was lovely and the pitchers of sangria were to die for! However the service was appalling - we waiting over half an hour for a table despite the restaurant being almost completely empty and when I finally asked whether one was ready, the hostess told me she had forgotten about finding us a place, but didn't apologise. Once seated we were ready to order, but again nobody took our order until I finally went over to the bar after about fifteen minutes of sitting at the table with no food or drinks. We only ordered five tapas dishes which took ages to arrive, which was surprising due to the emptiness of the restaurant. On arrival the food was delicious but nobody offered to refill our drinks and hung around the bar area chatting instead. I enjoyed the meal itself but felt that this restaurant was let down by its staff.

I have wanted to visit this restaurant for quite a while but never seemed to get round to it. As it was my birthday, my husband booked it for us and our teenage daughter. The table was booked for 730pm on a Friday evening and from the moment we arrived we were treated like old friends. We were given the option of which table we preferred to sit at and as we chose the one by the door, all of the staff including the chef kept ensuring we were not to cold. The setting inside the restaurant is that of an old greek taverna and you could really forget that you were just off the Dock Road in Liverpool City Centre! As I love greek food I was spoilt for choice so for my starter I decided to get a combination of dips, Tzatziki, taramasolata, hummous, tahini, etc, with warm pitta bread, my husband had the spicy meatballs and our daughter the feta cheese. As there is an open kitchen we could see these being prepared and were with us what seemed like almost straight away. All of the starters we DELICIOUS!! There was enough to fill you but not make you too full for your main. I was again spoilt for choice with the amount of mains to choose from but opted for the haloumi kebabs, my husband went for the lamb, which was accompanied by roast potatoes, rice and green beans, and our daughter for the greek salad. Again all of the dishes were FANTASTIC. We chose not to have dessert although there was a good selection. We were offered a jug of iced water with our meal and my husband had 2 bottles of Keo. Our total bill was just under £60 which we thought was very reasonable for what we received.. All I can say is the the food, service, attentiveness and friendliness of this Taverna surpassed all of my expectations and would definitely recommend it to any who love the whole Greek food and ambiance.

I love eating out and probably spend far too much time looking at this website! This is a fantastic Indian restaurant which I think competes with some of the best restaurants in Liverpool. Good value for money and excellent authentic tasting food. Food isn't normally my favourite cuisine but I will definitely be going back here. Well recommended.

Il Forno is honestly one of the best Italian restaurants if not one of the best ones in Liverpool! I've eaten there on and off over the past few years since it opened and its never disappointed. the restaurant is smartly designed and decorated but not pretentious or intimidating, and it has a fire breathing oven! ok its not actually fire breathing but the oven looks brilliant! the staff are friendly and attentive but don't bother you to much. the most important thing though is the food and drink, simply put its smashing. my friend and i shared a starter of Foccacia with tomato garlic and oregano which was enough for two people to share but not to filling. the Pizzas are fantastic and excellent value for money if they dont fill you up nothing will! and the also serve peroni gran reserve which is a posher version of normal Peroni (not that peroni doesnt taste nice!) which rounds things off perfectly. a starter to share and two pizzas with drinks for us was pretty much £40 for us which i think given the surroundings, service and quality of the food is what i would like to call an epic win ;)

Have we all been to the same restaurant?!! I personally found the food pretty poor, the menu unexciting and the decor scruffy. I am sick of the "put up with any old food" vegetarian mentality which allows places like this to serve up ill conceived and unexciting menu's to the cities over-accepting veggies. I had one of the specials, 'gumbo', this proved to be bland and starchy and the side salad that it was served with was far from fresh. WE DON'T HAVE TO EAT BLAND STEWS ALL THE TIME!!! The egg really would benefit travelling to Brighton to sample vegetarian fayre from the country's finest.

My friends and I were in Liverpool last weekend, we decided to try Il forno and were not disappointed by the whole experience, the menu is very very good we all raved about it the next day. The next time we venture to Liverpool I will undoubtedly be visiting here again.

Another fantastic meal at Zorba's, the best Greek Restaurant by far. Thank you Mike and Louisa for a lovely night, it was great to see you both. Will be back again soon.

Perfect service and lovely menu - a must for fish lovers - had the haddock chips and peas - presentation was perfect - dish almost faultless but chips needed work - had a strange taste - i could take them or leave them - I think next time I'd go for the seafood stew - it looks like a type of bouillabaise and looked gorgeous...

the atmosphere and staff can not be faulted but we felt the meal was a little average, have eaten in much better thai restaurants. The plates were cold so the food cooled very quickly. Over all was disappointed after other reviews, try somewhere else next time.

Lovely food and really friendly people. I would recommend Zorba's as much today as when I first went there more than 20 years ago.

Thai restaurant with great decor but poor food - and let down by one staff. Also, flies on window sill which completely put me off!!! You got to say - you walk up to this restaurant and you know they have put at least £1 million for decor and setting up the restaurant. You walk up to the restaurant and you see the thai god statues etc. All waiter and waitresses are thai people and wearing thai restaurant clothes. Upon entering you are asked if you have a booking! Yep. Strange but they have plenty of space. Trust me. Walking inside you find that the restaurant is'nt that big. From the outside you think it is big but most of the section is used up by the bar next door - separate company. I believe around 15-20 seat downstairs and up. Great thing is as it is new - it looks the part. Partner and I, got given the menu and the menu looks great at the start. Not being funny at all - but once again their is a spelling mistake in the menu. We ended up ordering the set meal for 2 - can't remember but the price being in the region of £25 per head. The set susukhothai. You can order the standard meals or go for vegetarian. The platter came with a satay chicken, curry pork, spring roll, prawn in batter, fish and a crab cake. Now how did this taste? The satay chicken on the stew - like a kebab was tasty. The pork on a stew was bland! No taste. You are giving a dip - vinegar, sweet sour sauce etc. Still didn't make a difference. The crab cake was greasy and tasteless. The spring roll was bland also. Just to tell you only get one of each - two in total for two people. Prawn fried in batter etc. Bland. Nearly missed that. Fish not fresh. The main menu came in one go - normal rice. Nothing special. We ordered the coconut rice and it tasted bland. No coconut taste at all. The dishes - chicken green curry, some seafood stir fry with squid etc, a pork stir fry, fried noodles. Now, the chicken green curry was okay. Not joking but the sauce tasted exactly like the satay chicken sauce. Seafood stir fry and the pork stir fry tasted exactly the same except that different meats / seafood. Never tasted something so poor in quality. The fried noodle were just fried noodle. As for being unsatisfied for 80% of the food, what really made me unhappy was one waitress! Don't get me wrong, the rest of the team was great. This girl - name start with an A must have been too good for this place. On her hand alone she has a diamond ring - married - which was worth at least £3k. She definitely did not need the money to work for this restaurant. Everytime she brought the food over, she sighed. Nearly forgot! My partner ordered some red wine and it came with a fly! Yep a fly. They did replace it but unacceptable. Now, why we will not be going back! Upon paying the bill we left 10% tip and the waitress looked at us and said that it? Cheek! So take your own pick. Won't be going back at all. I do miss the old thai restaurant in paradise street before liverpool one was built. Oh well. This is all my opinion.

My husband and I have been many times and the standards never drop.Food and drink is always great and the staff are very friendly and efficient. I always judge a restaurants hygiene by the toilets and these are to a very high standard and full of little extras. We always recommend it to friends and several of them have booked it for parties. They all have the same high regard as me.

Great restaurant, excellent service and tasty authentic food. The pizzas are superb. Classy restaurant but not expensive. If you fancy Italian in Liverpool then look no further.

I would never go back to this restaurant again, and i would certainly not recommend it. All the food was cold, and some was to salty to eat. The staff make you feel very uncomfortable as they stand around watching you eat. I had my plate of food taken away before i had eaten it, when i dared to go to the toilets, which were filthy and had no toilet roll.
