Booked a table for my Son’s 18th Birthday with family. Food was lovely, but the star of the show was definitely our server Gee! She was really helpful with any queries we had regarding the menu, fantastic with my Son (Jimmy), had us in stitches and just made the whole evening a great experience. The Drop Bar Cafe Restaurant – ChorltonWe only knew L'Aquila site from being a pub many years ago as I grew up in Prestwich. However, when we found that it was now an Italian and it was near my Mum's it was a perfect choice to have a small 80th birthday meal. It was a Tuesday so not too busy and the lovely young lady who greeted us gave us the choice where to sit. There were plenty of other people in there but it was still wasn't over noisy and the music level was perfect to have a nice conversation. The decor and fit out of the restaurant is lovely and extremely clean. The front of house team working that evening was extremely polite, fast serving, not to intrusive and were always doing something whether it be serving other customers or cleaning/tidying. We ordered multiple course including a special of the day and the food was on point. My Mum who's favourite food is Italian said it was better than any Italian she had been to in the city centre and said she would definitely come back. I always love a garlic bread with cheese, but having the half tomato/half cheese option was the dream. Even though I hadn't said it was my Mum's birthday the staff obviously noticed she was wearing a birthday badge and brought out her dessert with "Happy Birthday" in chocolate piped on it with candles. They then sang to her. This dessert was then taken off our final bill as a gift. She was extremely happy as were we on the overall experience. I would recommend here over any other Italian (we've been to a lot). It's also great of it's location if you don't want to or can't get to a larger city. Keep up the amazing work and kudos to all the back of house team who without the food would not be what it is.
