Papa Luigis – WiganWe have recently moved to Manchester and The Art of Tea was one of the reasons we felt comfortable choosing Didsbury as a place to settle. We visited on several occasions for coffee and sometimes brunch when house hunting and loved it’s charm and individuality. We then learned about their music nights and decided to book a table for the next one. What a joy! We knew the service would be up to it’s usual high standard (even more attentive actually given the reduced numbers) but beyond that we didn’t really know what to expect. Could it really morph successfully into an evening dining venue and what standard would the musicians be? Well, the answer to the first question was a resounding yes! The chilled evening vibe was delightful and the food utterly delicious! And as for the music - we were so impressed - 5 different musicians were presented to us by a compere who confidently complemented their professionalism. I write this partly with alacrity and partly with reluctance - it’s not a big place and I want to always be able to get a table!
The Art of Tea – DidsburyAlways really good food and service here xxx
Neel Paneer – SaleI visited The Drop last night for my birthday meal but this time with more family members. The waitress Isabella was a star, very sweet, polite and couldn’t do enough for us. My mum is very hard to please when it comes to Jamaican food but she was impressed with her choice of meal. Atmosphere chilled and vibie. Once again very happy with my visit. It is a n all rounder 10/10 from all of us Thank you to Isabella and team for making my day special.
The Drop Bar Cafe Restaurant – ChorltonWe were made very welcome, it was my mum's 87th birthday and everything was perfect. Food was great. Really enjoyable evening.
L’Aquila Prestwich – PrestwichFantastic meal all round. Lovely friendly staff. Hopefully will be back next time we are in Manchester. Many thanks to all the staff for making the evening great.
Giorgios – Manchester City CentreAnother lovely brunch at Art of Tea. Great food, friendly service and relaxed atmosphere. Definitely one of my favourite places in Didsbury.
The Art of Tea – DidsburyOur family have visited the rising moon many times since it’s total refurbishment a few years ago, we find it top class with excellent food, great choice and friendly staff who always give very good and polite customer service. Credit where it is due and well done to all concerned, keep doing what you do, it’s a great standard all round.
The Rising Moon – HydeI've been twice before and it was nice. But on this third visit, things went really wrong. The starters arrived, but then the whole restaurant ground to a halt. We waited one hour for the mains to arrive. They didn't. We, along with many other tables, gave up and left. I will still come again as I like the place. But if there is a big concert on at the BWH, I think management need to plan ahead and either staff accordingly, or limit the number of covers. Having been a waiter myself for many years, I felt very sorry for the waiting staff simply unable to cope. I imagine the kitchen was a similarly unhappy place.
Gio Ristorante – Manchester City CentreLovely place! Got a nice hot chocolate and was served at perfect temperature, was abit pricey though worth it. Bookshop and the back was wonderful and atmosphere is overall wonderful. Deffo coming again.
The Art of Tea – DidsburyGood experience - service friendly and welcoming - food quality very good - reasonable prices
Gnammy Italy – StockportWe had a fabulous Sunday lunch last weekend! Just the two of us, with lots of catching up to do, and everything was quite simply perfect! It was no surprise that the food was delicious (it always is at The Fat Loaf). We had the roast chicken and the roast lamb and everything was perfect! Had to have some cauliflower cheese on the side and it was exquisite! Our half bottle of Showdown was the perfect accompaniment. We couldn’t resist the deserts, so went for the chocolate pot (richly chocolatey but not too sweet) and the steamed ginger pudding (gorgeous!) Food aside, the service was the perfect blend of friendliness and professionalism. We honestly couldn’t have asked for more! If you haven’t tried a Fat Loaf Sunday roast yet, you’re missing a real treat!
Fat Loaf – SaleCame last week for my boyfriends birthday and had a really good time. The woman who was our waitress was so lovely and couldn’t do more, she even sang happy birthday and surprised him with a cake. Thankyou again for making our night special.
La Sentidos Loca – WiganLovely cocktails ! Maybe fish options could be considered?
Chakalaka – Manchester City CentreThis is my sister’s favourite restaurant and what can I say, the girl has taste. Honestly some of the best food I’ve ever had and the staff are super friendly and good at what they do. The garlic bread is as big as a regular pizza and the pollo Al formaggio was to die for. End on profiteroles and thank me later. So good I spent two days in Manchester and ate here on both of them.
Giorgios – Manchester City CentreI had booked a meal for 4 at the Rising Moon on Sunday 29th October. Ordered 3 prawn cocktails, I have had this dish before but on the occasion it was not upto the standard of previous visits, The mains were a little off as the vegetables were not cooked enough the were almost raw, I am coeliac but I find that there is no alternative to the Yorkshire puddings and stuffing as I know these can be purchased from all the major supermarkets. The staff on this occasion were not at all helpful, they didn’t ask about allergies until i promptly informed them and at times were all chatting at the bar, when I asked about our mains being served the waitress was rather rude in her response. Apart from the above the rest of the meal was ok.
