Armenian Taverna and Restaurant – Manchester City CentreHere is a copy of a letter I sent to the CEO of Martin's Pubs, Clubs & Restaurants. "On the 25th February, I booked a table at The Fair View for Sunday, 1st March at 7:00pm, for 3 people. I had booked using the online booking facility, and included in the reservation notes that “One member of our party is a wheelchair user” – see attached email confirmation. We arrived at the establishment at 18:55, only to be told on seeing that my wife was in a wheelchair, that the table reserved for us was upstairs, and that there were no other tables available. I pointed out that I had made the reservation online, and had included the note about our wheelchair user, to which was the reply that “we don’t get to see what’s on the online reservation bookings, and that in future, I should telephone to book!” – what nonsense!! Quite apart from the staff being less than sympathetic or helpful, what is the point of having an online booking facility which is never seen by the staff at the establishment. Is that really how it works? However, despite our protestations, we were turned away without any help or apology. We are an elderly group of people, who were looking forward to an infrequent treat, a nice quiet meal , which culminated in our returning home, extremely upset and disappointed! I would respectfully suggest that your systems or your staff need to be changed, or maybe both if this is the result. Perhaps you would be kind enough to let me have your thoughts and comments? Yours faithfully" I DOUBT WE WILL WE RETURNING - WATCH THIS SPACE. By the way, we have been quite a number of times in the past.
Fairview Inn – RochdaleAbsolutely love this place, amazing food, service and they make you feel very welcome. They update the menu quite often so you won’t be disappointed in choice, always something to have for even the most fussy eater.
La Sentidos Loca – WiganOur first visit, very impressed with the spotlessly clean restaurant, we had the fixed three course menu the service was first class as was the food, good sized portions every course was delicious, we will be back.
Gio Ristorante – Manchester City CentreI always go to Gio’s pre concert with friends. Service is excellent and rapid. Waiters are all friendly and helpful. The food quality is always superb. The venue is warm welcoming and friendly. It is easy to book online. It is an excellent venue for the Bridgewater and is always full. The prices are good and good variety on the menu
Gio Ristorante – Manchester City CentreVery nice meals and good service. A little noisy due to the lack of soft furnishings, carpets, curtains etc. But will definitely return.
Fat Loaf – SaleExcellent pre-show dinner & excellent value for money
Gio Ristorante – Manchester City CentreGreat service and fantastic food. As an expat you don’t realize how much you miss your “home” food. We definitely plan on visiting once a month.
Chakalaka – Manchester City CentreThe food and service were very good. I have only marked it down for atmosphere because we were in the back room which felt rather subterranean!
Giorgios – Manchester City CentreWe arrived in good time, the place was completely packed no empty tables. I gave my name and we were shown to the bar to wait. More people were coming in who had also prebooked a table, it was quite crampted, A couple came in gave there name, and the waiter came to us and said i felt accusingly that their name was Wood the same as ours, as if i was lying about our reservation, how would i know someone elses booking. A table came available, i asked if it was for us, he said no, i reminded him that our booking was for 6pm, which we were past, we got the table. We would have been better going to pizza hut, the food was not that good, it was expensive i will not be going back.
Gio Ristorante – Manchester City CentreI love this place it’s really good food the staff are brilliant and so cheap
Cafe Italia – BoltonLooking at other reviews, maybe it was just a bad night,( Friday evening). Food was superb, however the service was too slow. Not blaming the staff,( who were excellent , professional and apologetic), however we had to cut the visit short at the 2 hour mark. Would visit again as food was excellent and maybe it was just a one off,( and everywhere deserves a second chance)
Anatolian Grill – PrestwichRecently visited here for the third time with my husband. Food excellent as always, highly recommend the arancine. Next time I will be skipping the starter in order to try the puddings though, as I'm usually far too full for both! Staff always so helpful and pleasant, it's a pleasure to visit this cosy restaurant. Lovely to see the chef regularly doing the rounds too to make sure food is to everyone's tastes. Definitely book a table in order to avoid disappointment. Also not the cheapest of places but absolutely worth the money.
