Called in during the week for a meal with my husband. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food didn't disappoint either. All round, a thoroughly enjoyable experience!

Called in during the week for a meal with my husband. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food didn't disappoint either. All round, a thoroughly enjoyable experience!
Standard Indian Restaurant – UrmstonThe Jerk Chicken I had was the real thing... Wow to the taste!! Worth every penny, best Caribbean in Manchester. Getting my dinner there tonight!!
Marleys Caribbean Restaurant and Bar – RusholmeI had my favourite sea bass which was cooked to perfection the staff were friendly and attentive without being in your face. I will be going again soon.
Swan With Two Nicks, The – AltrinchamBeen to Smiths a number of times and enjoyed. Last night I ordered the lamb hotpot but I can say it lacked the lamb and wasn't anything special. Staff didn't respond to the comments when told about it. Very disappointed in them. Don't order the 24hr slow cooked lamb hotpot. Have something else instead.
Smiths Restaurant – EcclesGive a wide berth to this sub-standard boho pseudo gastro-pub. The Met would like you to think that they are way ahead in the gastro-pub stakes...stop-press....they're not, by a long way, Forget what you see online if you go on a Sunday, all that is found is mediocre and bland fare. Boring starters of heavy carbs unseasoned salad and insipid smoked salmon did not bode well. Cheddar, Spring onion and mushroom crumble sounded inspirational: in reality looked like something the cat had thrown up...and tasted similar (one would imagine!). When we complained a superb 'super salad' replaced it...what we didn't know was that we would have to pay even more for the inconvenience of a late meal .....said salad costing even more than the atrocious crumble! AND STEER CLEAR OF THE BURGERS! stale bread purporting to be focaccia, offering medium and well done burgers....both instructions ignored and burgers came incinerated...dry, unseasoned...do far better at home! so save yourselves £100 and cook at home for your nearest and dearest...at least find somewhere that can cook decent fare at decent prices!
Metropolitan – DidsburyThis place is never a disappointment. You can eat at a good number of Chinese restaurants and find yourself thirsty later on because of the excess salt in many of the dishes. That will not happen to you at The China Cottage. The new décor works too. We recommend it totally.
New China Cottage – RamsbottomTim provided the food for my 40th birthday bash - Lancashire hot pot complete with crist and red cabbage, Thai green chicken curry wih fragrant rice, and a goats cheese and butternut squash lasagne - absolutely delicious. Food delivered to our house around 6pm complete with heating dishes, crockery and cutlery. Went down a storm with all our guests. Tim picked everything back up this morning. Amazing food and really great service, excellent value for money and will be visiting the restaurant again very soon. A definite recommend!
Stables Restaurant – HydeStayed in Salford April 12th 2014 to attend Johnny Mathis concert in Manchester, after concert returned to Salford, found Chung Ying in Eccles Old Road and called for a takeaway. Warm, friendly welcome. Restaurant looked superb, wish I had gone earlier in the day, would have loved to have eaten there, however, I know for the future. My takeaway did not disappoint. Superb. Thank you very much. I highly recommend the food.
Chung Ying – SalfordDined at Nicks, Westhoughton tonight, excellent meal, worth every penny, food top class. Service excellent, staff very attentive , would not hesitate to recommend Nicks, or dine there again myself. Cannot praise too highly...
The Fat Pig – WesthoughtonA warm welcome but unfortunately the food didn't live up to expectations! Tagines were ordinary and the mixed Souk grill was sadly not at all good. It was lukewarm and unfortunately the chicken kebab was inedible with a peculiar flavour which makes us worry what the side effects may be let you know tomorrow!!
Myriad – AltrinchamMy third visit to this restaurant and each time as good if not better than before. Food is excellent, great choice, good service. Its noisy when busy but in a good way.Trying to book for next week, but their popularity and time of year means you wll need to book a little in advance. Well worth the wait the food and the value are first rate!
Bistro West 156 – DidsburyNipped in today for a coffee. Turns out it was their opening day. A stunning looking venue in an art deco style. Perfect location by all the best shops. French food and wine that I am very much looking forward to trying.
Cote Brasserie – Manchester – Manchester City CentreNow that was a fine and very satisfactory luncheon. Beef and Pudding has just opened it's welcoming doors and has it spot on. Plenty of beef as you would expect, with a British heritage rather than an American one which pleased me. I had a excellent beef and venison suet pudding and my wife the Beefham Tower burger which was the best burger we can remember having. Looking forward to working our way through the menu. The Manc Plank and The Manchester Meet will be next on the list, however that will be a dinner date or I would need an afternoon nap with meat sweats!
Beef and Pudding – Manchester City CentreAbsolutely fantastic venue, very clean, Warm, Inviting family area excellent décor. New Chef "Martin" making things happen, highly talented excellent home cooking. Looking forward to our next visit, thank you to all the team.
The Airfield Lodge – EcclesVisited for a birthday dinner on April 1st, but we were the April fools. Food was over priced and under sized. The room was so cold that the tiny tealight on the table was the only source of heat! The bar was unable to supply the basic J2O drink of Orange and Passionfruit, someone else must have had the"last drop "! Never again!
Last Drop Village Hotel and Spa – BoltonReally enjoyed the food tried several tapas and you could tell they was good home cooked food, the restaurant is lovely inside and the staff are nice, I went in my scruff as I had just finished work but still got a warm welcome.
Tapios Restaurant – MiddletonI love it here. The interior is fab, the atmosphere is relaxed and the food is great. Hoping to go on Mothers Day.
Mary & Archie – DidsburyI booked a table for Saturday 22nd March 10 days in advance. When we arrived at 5.50 pm there was a large number of people - about 15 - all standing waiting to be seated. ABout 10 past six a party who had booked for 5.30 and were still waiting decided to leave. At this stage people who had booked for 5.45pm gave up and left. As we were attending the theatre and time was running short we left at 6.20 still waiting for a table. What a disgraceful state of affairs. We had stood for half an hour and never even got to see our booked table much less have a meal. We then had to go and find somewhere else before our show started in a rush and very disgruntled. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.
