cheap cheerful, pleasant environment (when not full of screaming kids). Excellent value for money, although drinks are expensive - almost as much as a meal.

Bowling Green Inn – WiganI've only eaten here once with a friend since it was taken over from Le Frog. I loved it - great atmosphere, v accommodating staff, the food was spectacular, I would definitely go back (shame there's no real parking or I'd go more often)
Fat Olive – Wiganwe didn't actually eat. My partner and I called in at lunchtime, no one greeted us, we waited at the bar for 10 minutes, in that time no one came to serve us but eight children in various states of undress ran through the bar in that time. We eventually got a drink but it took so long and the staff really couldn't be bothered with us we never ended up getting any food. Place was crawling with kids and the owners/ staff clearly were utilising the entire place and a large sitting room for themselves, we were treated pretty badly! Shame as I'd heard the food was ok.
Casa Carlos – WiganI live in Canada and when I come home my first place of call is the Cheshire Line Tavern. I love this place, the food is the best and the staff are outstanding as is the beer. I will be back there again soon. I tell every one about this place, Its so good.Bill.
Cheshire Line Tavern – CheadleWent here for lunch on Saturday. The restaurant is comfy and looks very good, modern but comfortable. I like the way the restaurant is open to the bar area giving a relaxed feeling to dining here. We were welcomed warmly and drinks followed quickly. On ordering my wife had steak and I had lobster, we thought it only fitting to try both! The steak was very tender and cooked expertly. The lobster was great. I had it grilled and it really was very enjoyable. This restaurant is excellent value for money and of a very high standard. The restaurant staff were all very efficient and friendly, chatting easily with all of the customers. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for lunch or dinner and will be returning when next in Manchester!!
Steak & Lobster Manchester – Manchester City CentreStayed at this fantastic hotel on friday night with my wife and we were both very impressed! On arrival we were welcomed and checked in effeciently and quickly. The room was a mix of modern and original features with high ceilings. It was very comfortable with every "mod-con" you could need really. We decided on lunch at the MC Cafe Bar
Ate at this great restaurant on friday night for the first time and we were not disappointed!! Everything I had heard and read about this place was spot on. Firstly, this was one of the busiest restaurants I have ever been to, a good sign!! The number of staff working ensured that although they were busy they were never rushed and someone was always on hand to pour wine or clear empty plates. It really was very well organised chaos! The food was fantastic! I ordered "Pesce Veneziana" for a starter which was very reasonably priced at £8.95. It came and was a huge pan full of scallops, clams, king prawns, mussels and fish in a very tasty tomato broth on a piece of bread soaked in the sauce. This could easily have been a main meal but was exeptional quality and so I ate it alll!! Main course was King prawn spagettini and a lasagne for the wife. Both were excellent quality and very tasty indeed. All washed down with a Chianti Reserva, this was a great experience and I can't wait to go again!!
San Carlo – Manchester City CentreMy friends and I visited the Rivington Pub and Grill on Saturday 12th January 2013. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant and in fact couldn't do enough to help us even though the venue was extremely busy and we were late! The menu is extensive and varied and reasonably priced. Our food arrived quickly and was cooked or prepared to an excellent standard. We had a perfect evening in lovely surroundings and we will definitely visit again soon. I would highly recommend the Rivington Pub and Grll!
Rivington Pub and Grill – HorwichGreat food and wine, lovely and clean. Barstaff were really polite and courteous. Look forward to returning real soon!
Queens Arms – CheadleMy friend and I wonderful meal last night at the grill. The service and food was supberb. We will definitely return.
Istanbul Grill – CheadleAmazing, freshly cooked food. Varied menu, changing specials board, and really lovely staff. What else could you want in a bistro/café? Truly a great experience every time.
Il Caffe Roma – Ashton Under LyneAbsolutely love this place. The food is some of the best I have tasted, the service is always with a smile (the waiters have more sauce than the food!) the decor is fab after the refurbishment and there is always a great atmosphere!Went there 3 times in one week and proud of it!
Prachee, The – PrestwichI visited your establishment this evening 8th January 2013 with a friend. We haven't visited for about a year but the food was an excellent quality
DosaXpress – DidsburyAll the comments seem to be compimentary. However, During December My wife and I ordered fillet steak. I'm not normally a beefeater but on this occasion I was persuded to try the steak. What a disappointment , Tough and overcooked. When I compained I was told I would only be charged dor one meal rather than take my complaint to the chef who I was told is rather sensitive to criticism. In contrast, my birthday celebration at the Church was excellent . All 16 of us were well looked after. thank you especially the chef
Church Inn – CheadleHello, I think the Punjab is fantastic! The food was delicious! The service was excellent! Definitely would recommend it! You have to make a visit!
Punjab Tandoori – RusholmeMy family and I came to Ashfield on News Years Eve to the family buffet. Firstly we were disappointed that the menu did not cater for children especially not having any ice cream as all children like. Secondly we have been informed that you were advertising on the web site half price for that evening we were very upset to hear this especially as we had spent a lot of money that night. Also I had been three times in December.
Ashfield House Hotel and Restaurant – WiganFabulous food. Owner Darum, couldn't do enough for us. Never had Turkish wine before, but it was absolutely gorgeous! I'll be back!
Saray Cafe Bar – ChorltonJust been to this retaurant and won't be going again! Had to wait 25 mins for our order to be taken despite not being busy. The staff were surly and unhelpful and the food left a lot to be desired. The chef seemed to have a passion for adding handfuls of sliced raw garlic to everything. To top everything off the card machine declined everyones pin numbers putting those of us who don't carry cash at risk of having no means of paying the bill!
