I have read the reviews complimenting this restaurant on its customer service. I have to say I couldn't disagree more. Their refusal to even consider adapting their menu to cater for someone with a gluten allergy I found totally unforgivable. If they cannot adapt their dishes are they serving pre prepared meals??

I visited the White Room recently. The surroundings were very relaxing & the staff were extremely helpful. The choice on the menu was excellent and there is also a daily special which I tried. I could not fault it at all & will definitely come here again.

I visited Thai Banana last night (5th November 2009) and thought it was the worst meal I had had out in a long time. My partner and I ordered the veggie tempura to start which was foul; none of the vegetables were fresh (on examination they looked like frozen veg from a freezer store) and the batter was very low quality. Our mains were equally poor; my Pad Thai tofu dish arrived with only two piece of tofu in it so I had to send it back. The waitress struggled to understand what I was saying, and the woman who appeared to be the manager on duty was completely disinterested. The food was brought back a second time with the missing tofu, although this time I was left with no fork. Asking for another fork took time, and again the manager was rude and unpleasant (she even passed cutlery to us holding the ends destined to go into our mouths - no Health and Safety training there). At the end of the meal (we left the majority of the food) I informed the manager how bad it had been and she just walked off. When we left I went and spoke to her about the service and food, yet once again she walked away and informed me she didn't care. I was quite appalled by how rude the service was - it's been a long, long time since I've experienced anything like it. My recommendation, don't waste your money here.

I ate last Saturday night at ambiente, and i can only say that it was a truly memorable experience, the food was fantastic, and the service matched the food, i will be going again soon and can only recommend you try this ten out of ten keep up the good work

Great food and very friendly and efficient service. very warm and pleasant environment. Everyone enjoyed the night and even the kids had good time.

The best Indian food in MCR, I can't recommend it highly enough. Chef Khim Lal Gaire is a complete star! Everything from poppadoms to pudding is wonderful and the staff are so welcoming it makes the whole experience perfect. A special thank you to Karwan and Jam. 10/10

I had a great Sunday lunch here yesterday, I believe it was the first week they had been open with Robert Owen Brown cooking. It is always a pleasure to eat ROBs food and I wasn't let down. I enjoyed pot roast wood pigeon with black pudding and elderberry along with a great bottle of zinfandel. I was pleased to see that this pub has received the refurbishment it deserved and I am looking forward to returning time and time again. Thanks Rob

Visited Coriander for the first time last night, it was really busy and although its small you don't feel like you are sitting in the laps of others. The food was fantastic, the staff are really attentive without being overbearing, after enquiring about my own tastes the waiter recommended Grandmothers vegetables and what a fantastic recommendation it was! As a vegetarian dining out with a meat eater, the choice was fantastic. Eaten the left overs for lunch today! Don't be put off by the decor just enjoy the delicious food, great service and nice cold beer.

The restaurant has a calm feel to it. The furniture is simple and cafe-like. There is wide selection of sweet and savoury snacks. The menu contains starters, very good vegetarian Indian and Chinese dishes, desserts and non-alcoholic drinks. The food tastes just right and is quite palatable and digestible. The staff are pleasant and helpful. Car parking is not a problem.

Had singapore noodles, which were ok, prefer wagamamas, although I really liked the decor and busy atmosphere.

I just had lunch at Jem & I on Saturday during the lunch express and was looking forward to eating their since it was recommended by many friends for the food. I was very disappointed by the quality of the food. My partner and I have been out to many meals at different restaurants and haven't experienced food that we weren't happy with. We ordered the gnocchi and the rissotto. We did not even finish the food we ordered. The gnocchi was something that we could have easily gone to Aldis to buy the ingredients and make. The rissotto was very salty and had a small portion size. When are plates were taken away we were never asked at any point how are meal was. We will not be returning or recommending this place to anyone.

Hey there, I've been ordering from Sorento Pizzeria (In Ashton Village) for a while now. I have to say, it is an incredible takeaway! The service is friendly, the delivery time is almost always spot on and the food is the best fast food I've ever experienced. I would go as far to say that it is of restaurant quality, but delivered to your door. 10/10 for me!

Tampopo food is lovely. Fresh, healthy, tasty and so cheap! Much better than Wagamamas

I've been eating at Tampopo in Albert Sq since my return to Manchester in 2004 and can honestly say that I have always left more than satisfied. The tempura vegetables are amazing and the the mixed platter superb. I can also recommend the strips of rare beef on the most delicious aromatic tomato and spring onion salad. Have yet to try the soups but they do look amazing.

It's not the 1st time i'm writing review on this restaurant. I think i am slightly obsessed with it:) since it opened i had a meal there at least once a week i just can't get enough of this place... Everything about it is perfect - food was fabulous every time, staff so welcoming and attentive, service so professional, very friendly owners and good atmosphere. What else could you wish for?! I recommend this place to everyone!

OMG!!! The most delicious curry I've had in a long time. This place is fab, the decor, the service I couldn't fault anything! And all reasonably priced too. Will definitely be back, I want to work my way through the menu!! Yummy, yummy, yummy!

It's over 12 months since we ate here. Thoroughly enjoyed it last 3 occasions. Oh dear! visited 20/10/09 standards have dropped considerably. Food was just ok NOT amazing as previously also little touches like a dead plant on the window sill in ladies loo don't make a good impression. Always have recommended that friends & family visit Jem & I but won't be in too much of a rush to send people there now. Very average sadly
