Persia Grill House – ChorltonThe restaurant is hip and stylish and the food is to die for. This definitely beats anywhere in Rusholme and is in a great central location. Service is ace and servers are really friendly. The naans are HUGE too. Big thumbs up from me!
Akbars – Manchester City CentreSince moving to Manchester has become my favourite place to eat. Wonderful food. Would especially recommend the lamb rump with pesto- best served rare and great with their exceptional Borolo. 2 can have a 3 course meal from £20 per head (upwards!!). Only criticism is that as no background music is played - large office parties can make conversation impossible during the after work rush period.
Piccolino- Caffe Grande – Manchester City CentreI have eaten in thousands of restaurants all over the World and NOTHING compares with the whole experience of Akbars. I was dining with 3 people who are never satisfied with British asian food, but Akbars amazed them. The portions were large, the taste and suggestions were perfect, service was quick, the restaurant was modern, clean and amazing service. Although open plan - they have booths around the edges of the main dining room - which gives a lovely ambience (which comfortably seated 6) with larger tables catered for within the room. The food bill was inexpensive for the amount of food we ordered (and had the remainder to go!) - working out around £20/head inclusive of wine/drinks/coffee, starters and main courses (lots!) I will be back frequently!
Akbars – Manchester City CentreA wide ranging menu and good fresh food. Fairly new place and not in the best location, so tends to be very quiet - it deserves to be buzzing!
Rozafa Taverna – StockportWhat a fantastic place. As a vegetarian i worried there wouldn't be alot of choice. There was. I had the best meal there ever last night and i would go back again and again. Great, 10 out of 10
Jade Garden – DidsburyAfter reading the reviews I had to try. A bit out of the way, opposite Southern cemetery. But the food is outstanding. I went with my husband and 4 children. Sunday the 13/08/06 early evening we were the only ones in, but the door and phone never stopped there must of been 20 take outs while we were there. That speaks for itself on a Sunday. Anyway had the banquets for 2 and 4 children? meals and wine £51.00 yes £51.00 beautiful friendly people. Excellent value and the food was just as it says on the web no greasy curries, all fresh produce go give it a try you will not be disappointed beats all other curry houses in the area. And loads of veggie curries and side orders. Will be back next week.
Coriander – ChorltonBrilliant! Best venue in town for a group night out. Amazing food - it gets tastier every time! The "show" is gob smacking and the staff excellent. I can't recommend this place enough.
Sapporo Teppanyaki Manchester – Manchester City CentreSecond time here and again virtually outstanding. The best steaks we have had. It was a Saturday night so great atmosphere. Wine suggested by waitress was wonderful. Guava cheesecake excellent. Only downside was chips tasted as they had been refried.
Gaucho – Manchester City CentreMe and my girlfriend ate here last week and were very impressed with the food. Much better than the bland tastes of most La Tasca restaurants! Will definitely be eating here again.
La Torre – UrmstonThis is a risky thing to say, but the food here was as good as any meal I had in Thailand last year. It's more expensive than other restaurants in the area but it's well worth spending a little more as it was so delicious. I can't wait to return and sample the Chinese menu!
Pacific – Manchester City CentreThis is a fantastic old styled pub with excellent food which also includes Tapas at weekends. There is also a good selection of guest beers which change on a weekly basis. This is a pub worth trying, with it's friendly staff and good food and beers you will be back.
Baum The – Rochdalei love the imaginative, delicious food at Greens but, as a vegetarian of 17 years, was disappointed on my last visit to find Boddingtons and Guinness within the food recipes, neither of which are suitable for vegetarians due to the use of animal products in the production process. I know that the owner isn't vegetarian but would appeal to him to ensure that all ingredients used in the restaurant have been confirmed to be suitable for vegetarians. It is difficult enough being 'truly' vegetarian eating out generally and it would surely enhance the appeal of the place if vegetarians could rest assured that they were eating a cruelty-free meal!
Greens – DidsburyAfter reading the reviews, we decided to go and try after going to the Azad manzil for over 20 years. We tried the restaurant, the service and friendliness of the staff was superb. The food was different as explained on the website, and was fantastic none greasy and very tasty. They offered what to have and the choice was excellent will be hooked on the Coriander from now on, thank you Brilliant.
Coriander – ChorltonWent for a birthday with about 25 others - what a gorgeous place. Large bar - which is always good, lots of different seating places also a curtained off drinking area. Staff are so friendly and smiley - seemed as if they were really happy for your custom. Went at 7.30 - didn? leave till 11.30 ish and they were in no rush to clear us out. Fantastic looking carved wooden tables and chairs, beautiful statues and decoration....background music just at the right volume, food was delicious - a bit of everything from king prawns to curry (even deep fried ice cream....an acquired taste but I have now ticked the box to say that I?e tried it). Reasonably priced food and drink, great atmosphere - worth a visit if you want to impress that special someone. V.v.v. nice place!!
Nam Ploy – BoltonAndiamo was recommended to us by a friend and it lived up to his praise. Staff can? do enough and the chef is the owner so his reputation is on your plate.
Andiamo – WesthoughtonWould definitely recommend a visit, food was fantastic (retro dishes with a slight twist - try the red mullet and chorizo fishcake), staff were very friendly and welcoming, we will be back soon..
